Definitely crucified... Was in our best 5 against the Dockers. Certainly not the worst by any stretch against the Saints but immediately gets dropped. McDonalds combined cost us 6 goals against the Saints and two of Wagners turnovers (resulting in goals). Then rebounds with a BOG effort in the VFL only for Vandenburg (poor for 3 weeks before his injury) gets back in. Again Oscar Mcdonald is spared. Jack's card is marked but he hardly has been treated fairly or responsibly. Another ex captain crucified.

Only Lamumba and Mitch King unavailable... l can't remember in the last 10 years when our list was this injury free. Usually by round 19, we have about 15 injuries, 5-6 off for year end operations and Casey are left with 4-5 MFC listed players.

Sam Frost had a great games against the weagles. Showed why I and many others believe he will develop into a very very good FB or CHB. He is not a forward and it was strange that he was tried there when we obviously needed another key defender.

The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here
spirit of norm smith replied to Grapeviney's topic in Melbourne Demons
It was an observation from someone who has watched all the games. I again laugh at the schoolboy posts of others (eat another banana lads, and climb back in the trees... is that our standard of posts). -
The Jesse Hogan Panic Room - all contract talk here

13 goals in the last 7 games. Hardly enough. We could have beaten Adelaide, West Coast and yes even the Hawks with a switched on Hogan. Just an observation that Jesse is not appearing to be desperate and ultra competitive recently. -

Hogan must stand up this weekend ... -
out. o.mcd hunt harmes ins. dunn grimes kennedy If Roos is wanting to win, he will give the youngsters a break. O.mcd has been below AFL standard for 8 weeks. Harmes and Hunt were treading water on Saturday. They need a break after Darwin and Perth.

Who are the Dees chasing for 2017 and at what cost?
spirit of norm smith replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
Swap MFC 3rd round Pick #46 to GWS for either: Jake Barrett. Barrett is tough, skilled, wins clearances, great tackler, only 20. Not able to crack Giants midfield due to talented group of Shiel, Greene, Hopper, Ward, Scully, Coniglio, Kelly, Griffen. Or James Stewart. 198cms. Versatile tall forward behind Cameron, Patton, Lobb. More tall forwards on Giants incoming group. Stewart is 22, from Sandringham and would be a very addition ruck, forward or tall back option. -

Grabbed DEFEAT from the jaws of victory. Disappointing again. Young team... Fu$#off ... we had some many chances but didn't WANT TO WIN IT!! -
My 3 word player analysis V West Coast
spirit of norm smith replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jetta - good game 6 t.mcd - good but crucial mistakes were costly 5 wagner - ok. turnovers costly.5 Frost - very good. pace and backed himself.8 o.mcd - not even close to AFL standard. Disposal a worry. Physically gets pushed aside.2 vince - skilled. big heart. got in but a few undisciplined free kicks. 6 M. Jones - good run. One of his better games. 7 Viney - the warrior. needs to learn to kick on his right foot. 6 Hunt - fading. conditions not suited. 4 Stretch - good run again. must use him more and go forward. 6 Kent - good. but I want him to develop so much more and kick 4-5 goals. 6 Watts - another strong game. Most improved award for 2016. (if any he had kivked the goal in the last quarter) 8 Petracca - yes. so much talent. 6 Garlett - took his opportunities. 5 Hogan - disappointing again. I expect more. Potential but not engaged.3 Harmes - in and out. 5. ANB - Needs another week.4 Dawes - marking time. 3 Gawn - another good game. Might sneak a Brownlow vote. Deliberate handball out in 4th was disappointing. Tyson - loves the conditions. Prolific and won the midfield. 8 N.Jones - best on ground. 9 Brayshaw - pass score 5. -

Agree except for Tyson. Glad to see recognition for the mistakes from o.mcd and t.mcd. Best 6 were N Jones, Gawn, Frost, Kent, Watts and Tyson. -
How many wins will we end up with in 2016
spirit of norm smith replied to junk's topic in Melbourne Demons
9 wins likely now... 9-13 season. Though wins v Suns and Blues are not assured. I would love to beat the Power. They are so arrogant and Wines & Ebert ?needs to pull their heads in. Improvement but not translating into finals footy. Each year the push up the ladder gets harder. -
Tom McDonald (and Oscar) SIGNS.
spirit of norm smith replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
again YES YES YES -
Jarryd Lyons has had a very good 2016. Starred against us and very good role in Crows midfield rolling into half forward kicking goals when needed. Cant believe Demons did not push harder to get him.

t.mcd played his normal game. Good spoils and interception... BUT 3-4 CRUCIAL MISTAKES COSTING GOALS. o.mcd was uninspiring AGAIN. He has had 7 poor games in the last 8 weeks. Weak physically and skills not up to scratch. Hesitates too much. Time to restart his development at CASEY.

Good game today

spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
6 N.Jones 5 Gawn 4 Frost 3 Kent 2 Watts 1 Tyson -5 o.mcd ... thats negative 40. 8 poor games in 9 weeks. o.mcd is a LIABILITY (Dunn and Garland must be wondering about the fairness in selection). -

Hunt - starting to fade ... lucky to be kept in the side. If Salem was fit, Hunt would be omitted. -

90 more possessions and 30 more inside 50s ... poor loss to Eagles. Is it skill or fitness?? Inability to execute under pressure ... YES -
O'Meara rather than Prestia
-
Exactly. Many others on MFC list have worse disposal than Grimes... Lamumba, t.mcd, o.mcd, bugg, wagner. all miss key targets regularly but seem to get Roos' approval. Grimes will get another go.
