Last chance for Kennedy-Harris?
spirit of norm smith replied to spirit of norm smith's topic in Melbourne Demons
Failed today when he was against kids. Disposal 50/50 and cannot break through the lines. Pace non existent. Good tackling not enough. -
High impact high contact intentional behind the play 8 weeks
-
I have us having to beat the Giants to make finals I also think GWS will be aiming for top 4 if they can beat us finals are here starting next week effectively 3 weeks of crucial, pressure cooker matches

Casey Demons v Northern Blues - Round 18
spirit of norm smith replied to KC from Casey's topic in Melbourne Demons
Jay Lockhart should definitely be drafted by the Demons. Perhaps pick 50-65 range. Smart. Good size and skilled. Perfect backup for Jetta or can be a small lockdown mid. -
Fuc$($n ridiculous wanted lions and Bombers to win 13 wins might not get us in !!! Need to beat Swans at a minimum

Casey Demons v Northern Blues - Round 18

Balic must have really lost his spirit. He could have played in a premiership at Casey and would have been very very handy. Still you need your heart to be on the game. -

Casey Demons v Northern Blues - Round 18

Assume Weideman is emergency for Hogan. Though 2 weeks without any footy would not be beneficial. -
Crowd estimate this week 22,359

Not sure you have to bring in omcd. Tommy mcd was a very good defender with excellent competitive ability. Now switched to key forward. Omcd still under development.

Changes v Gold Coast Suns
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Likely no change I like to seee the team settled but agree perhaps Hogan rested and may put JKH back to Casey. Vanders might need at least another week at Casey to build up fitness so JKH may still in. -
Big heart. Harmesy has developed into an essential hard player in our team. Will be a key to September. Great scalps in Selwood, Dangerfield & Sloane

Yes hope is alive. We need the finals this year to inspire true belief

Exactly jkh gave us nil. He panicked when he should have won the game i gave him the benefit of a chance but he is not afl standard move over and give Baker his deserved shot

Who do we realistically target for a trade?
spirit of norm smith replied to Dee1987's topic in Melbourne Demons
Wow Libba (son of Tony) leaving the dogs. Have not heard that. Do we need another inside mid? its gaff gaff gaff for me go get our man back from the west -
He has missed 11 games in 13 years including a stretch of 6 games last year he battled on pushing his body each week he does appear more battleworn but wills himself on Jonesy is not the one to be questioned right now imo
-
And Spargo jogging and Hogan’s poor effort and ANB little toe poke and Bernie Vs punch and Tracs bomb and Garlett snap and Jettas contest and .... you could be so judgemental in hindsight very poor to take shots at one of our true leaders and champions
-
Very harsh critics here. Disgraceful to be honest Nathan Jones has been a great player who has been loyal when others such as Frawley walked away when it got too tough Jonesy has consistently been in our best and held up the midfield through years of struggle His heart is huge. His commitment strong. His accuracy for goal and skills are right up there. He kicks on left and right. His tackling is A grade. 256 games 100 games as skipper he proudly wears the Number 2

My 3 word player analysis V Geelong
spirit of norm smith replied to joeboy's topic in Melbourne Demons
Agree Joeboy was harsh and didn’t reflect on some of the positives but like most of us, deeply scarred by another frustrating loss that cuts like a knife through our red and blue veins -
Ditto there were plenty of good signs imagine if Hogan had intensity for the contest
