  1. After Twomeys AFL top 30 update from today, there are 3 kids that come into contention for our pick 36. Sydney Stack. WA under 18s. Shaun Burgoyne like player. Pace and skills. Glides over the ground. Surprised that he has not been rated top 25. Perfect wing/half back. Tom McKenzie. Northern under 18s. Really hope MFC gets this kid. Midfielder with all requirements. Perfect player to add to our midfield. Pace and good skills on either side. Competitor. Won the 20 metre sprint at afl combine. Jack Bytel. Calder under 18s. Cannot believe that Twomey does not rate him top 30. Absolutely gun midfielder. Strength and skill. Wouldn’t be surprised if he goes top 20. Injured twice this year which probably has seen his rating drop. Would be a draft steal at 36. Leadership potential. Obviously one or two from the top 30 may drop as well but it’s a very strong draft year.
  2. As of today, we have about 5 picks. That is 36,46,54,62,65. No need to worry about top 20 draft potentials
  3. As it is (12 October) MFC has picks 36,46,54,62,65. Likely players at these picks would be - #36- Tom McKenzie for pace and outside midfield potential or Ely Smith for his strength and pure midfield style. MFC might need to use pick on Toby Bedford if nominated by others. Might also see if a top 25 player has slipped such as Sydney Stack (pace and think Shaun Burgoyne like) or Jack Bytel (footballers footballer like a Jack Ziebell). I’d prefer a young midfielder at this pick #46- Toby Bedford. Probably would get nominated by this point. Has the pace and goal smarts that we need. Otherwise look at Joe-Ayton-Delaney or Fraser Turner both of whom are running machines with pace and footy skills. #54- it’s still a chance for Ayton-Delaney or Turner here but we might look at VFL types like Marty Hore or Brett Bewley or Jay Lockhart. They represent solid skills and ready to go depth potential. Perhaps a wildcard here is Jason Carter (WA U18s running half back). #62 & 65- late stage pick so look at needs, potential and mature types like the VFL guys. Could be a Mitch Riordan here who was top 25-30 (midfielder who has the Luke Parker pedigree) before getting injured mid year. Others likely would be Lachlan McDonnell (pacy half forward), Campbell Hustwaite (leader in the Luke Hodge style of player) or Noah Gown (smart 3rd tall type forward). A 60s spec pick (not a smoky) if available is Connor Idun. The kid from Geelong has improved so much in 2018, he scored a combine invite and named all Australian full back. His only 193cms but could a very handy CHB (think Josh Gibson).
  4. Close. I thought we’d push for the extras. That being the Kangas 4th rounder to add to the deal.
  5. Yes lacks pace. Couldn’t have Lewis and a player like Newman in our team. Wagner already fills this spot as a depth “mid-tallish” backman. Thread is low- hypothetical at best.
  6. Luke Partington is a young midfielder with the Eagles. 6 games in 3 years. Drafted pick 28 in 2015 as a young pacy South Australian. Played a few games of senior footy with Norwood. Very good 2016 first year in WAFL averaging 22 possessions. Continued excellent form and cracked it for 6 games at the end of 2017 including finals. Looked suited to a wing/rover role. Had physically developed further. 2018 season saw Partington behind Gaff, Shuey, Yeo, Redden, Sheed, Hutchings, Masten. Now uncontracted, he can be the type of player MFC grabs. We have a gap available given Tyson departure. The need for midfield strength continues. Partington would be gettable at a pick 62 type pick with a 2/year contract. Worth the call.
  7. 12th October wrap up. 8 delisted/retired. 36 spots Vandenburg resigns ? 2 traded out. Kent and Tyson. 1 traded in. Preuss. Likely trade in Kade Kolodjashnij. ?? Hogan hopefully he stays and tears it apart in 2019. Likely retain xx Steven May. Not considered given Hogan to stay Keilty upgrade to senior list Back to 36 spots. Need more pace and run. Another ball winning Midfielder for depth. Need backup small defender as backup for Jetta. Probably: +1 delisted free agent +5 draftees. # 36 46 54 62 65 +2 rookies. # 15, 33
  8. It’s May to Collingwood or Bulldogs this trade period. Or it’s a May bidding free agency frenzy in 2019.
  9. Freo is getting to be a basket case. Imagine getting Bennell and now is a $$$ liability. Hogan should devote himself to staying in Melbourne. Go for 2019 and beyond premierships
  10. Tyson = Preuss
  11. Hogan is worth two 1st rounders with one being in the top 10. It’s now that Freo want us to buckle. If they don’t trade Neale, then the only bare limit deals for me are either Freo 1st pick 11 and Ed Langdon FOR Hogan or Freo 1st pick 11, Freo 2nd Rd pick 23 and Freo future 1st Rd 2019 pick FOR Hogan and MFC pick 36.
  12. Agreed. “Yeh ok” was Josh Ms response to be being offered 65 and Smith’s chips for Dean Kent.
  13. If we get pick 65 from Saints for Kent ... then Trade pick 65 for picks 58 and 79 I have followed picks 58 and 79 and they will match our list development
  14. My source : Damien Bear-rat.
  15. Preuss for Tyson. Yes that works. Maybe we can snag a late pick in the 60s to go with it. Preuss and NMFC pick 68 for Tyson
  16. 244 pages i think it’s 50/50 Hogan is staying more positive as the days go by hope he stays forever now and commits to the red and blue
  17. Pick 24 is looking for more opportunities after struggling to crack a regular game. pick 58 is returning to be closer to family after struggling to acclimatise pick 79 is injury prone and hopes for a fresh start “we thank them for their service and wish them the best” said the Lions football manager
  18. Yeah baby again Vanders to ignite 2019
  19. I just swapped 2x $1 gold coins for a smaller gold $2 coin. Not sure I’m getting a good deal now !!!
  20. A younger inconsistent small forward.
  21. Kent and MFC 4th Round 2019 for Saints pick 39.
  22. Dean Towers. Any interest as a delisted free agent. Might be handy for depth given we could lose up to 12 players off the 2018 list. Just a thought.
