Gun target - Key Forward recruit?
I agree that we need to look beyond Tmcd and Weideman. Both “can” be our two key forwards but the list needs a depth key forward. In the draft , Jake Riccardi, winner of the Round-Forhergill medal for best young player in the VFL- would be an excellent choice. 194cm agile CHF type. Only 20 but very promising. I watched him v Casey and in the finals game against Box Hill. Will take a good summer in the gym. Other options for JT are - Charlie Dean (Sandringham under 18s). Impressive youngster who trained with Dees last summer. Could be drafted anywhere between 25-30 or 45-55. More of a chf. Hopefully he is available around our pick 42ish. - Emerson Jeka. (Western under 18s). Big strong marking forward. Played v Casey and has the basics of a key forward. Could be available around the 50 mark. Strong like Hawkins type.

Sam Murray
Pace. Yes. Kicking. No. If Goody should learn ANYTHING, disposal efficiency is CRITICAL

He is hopeless, glad we didn’t get him.
Luke Shuey Patrick Dangerfield Dustin Martin nic nat but seriously I’m glad we missed Nathan Freeman

Phantom Drafts
Have to see Jay Rantall now fly into top 25 contention. Former star junior basketballer. Had a great year. I only saw him once against Calder but was dominant and looked like an AFL ready player. Not the most stylish but effective. I remember Matt Crouch looked similar and he is a star. Not sure Rantall would suit our needs but he’ll be a player. Standout big midfielder.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Elliott, Tomlinson and Langdon covered by Mahoney today. Any other wildcard trades??
-
Phantom Drafts
Brodie Kemp would have been the standout at 3 before he got injured. It remains to see if JT and Goody would have the courage to choose him. Young and Serong are safe choices at 3. Wouldn’t dispute either being called out. Ash could be the “for needs” pick as we need pace.

Oh no no no

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Close to the mark. Stretch will get trade currency as others will see blue sky for him.

Farewell Sam Frost
Still haven’t heard what hawks are offering? 3 years? 4 years?? Is it $450-$500k a year? Assume we need to clear $$ for Langdon, Tomlinson and Elliott and any $$ rise for Frost is not within plans.

The 2019 AFL Draft Combine
Bergman really is pushing up the charts. We thought we might be able to get steal him as a pick 35-40 but looking more likely to be 20-25 selection. I saw Hugo Ralphsmith and Charlie Dean at the Dragons and they looked like good quality youngsters.
-
Hayden Young (Drafted by Fremantle)
Good call. He is not just a stand and kick type. Outstanding disposal but can also aerobically cover the ground. prefer Ash for his speed and Serong as a midfield/goalkicker

Farewell Sam Frost
Who has Clarko improved? Ricky Henderson is not a bad example. Spud at the Crows. 2019 - he unbelievably had average 25 possessions as a rotating on/off midfielder. BoG v Pies with nearly 40 possessions if so recall not saying clarko can weave miracles but he may improve Frostys disposal and turn him into a top class attacking defender

Jack Newnes
I’d definitely have a chat. But trust Richo to have inside knowledge

2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
Elijah Taylor at pick 30. That’s a bargain. Exactly the elusive indigenous forward type that MFC needs. Perhaps as suggested elsewhere (reluctantly Frost and pick 58 for Hawks pick 30) we could steal Hawks 2nd rounder which is around this pick.

Farewell Sam Frost
Any news on what hawks are offering Frost? Years? dollars?

Farewell Sam Frost
Line one. Absolutely wrong. Wrong. Wrong. Oscar McDonald was on Mckernan in round 3. I was there. I was screaming. It was ridiculous. Goodwin keeps faith in Omcd yet jettisons Frost. It’s madness. Btw watch round 23 v Kangas. Frost shutdown Ben Brown. He’d kicked 10 the prior week. It’s madness to let Frost walk.

Farewell Sam Frost
What a troll. Oscar mcd player on Mckernan. Check the tape. Frost was moved onto Kennedy after Omcd had been beaten in Perth. Your memory is poor. You might want to question Oscar mcd and see who he has ever beaten. Btw. You campaigning to get Harley Bennell. What a joke.

Goal Kicking Coach
Did we not have a goalkicking coach??? If we did, they’d be the first one sacked. If we didn’t, it’s an obvious blunder by the footy department.

2019 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May
May will be a key to 2020. If he’s on field, then we have a better stronger defence. Without May (and with Frosty jettisoned) , our defence against big forwards looks weak.

List changes who do we cut, trade or go after.
Presumably now it’s 8 spots available on the list Lewis TSmith Maynard (Ret) Garlett Keilty (delist) Frost Stretch likely trade. Jkh likely delist or steak knives. <Walker cat b retired>. Add 3 or 4 through trade and free agency Add 4 or 5 through the draft. Pace into midfield runners. Another key forward A small forward. Some young stars. Presumably all who can hit a target by foot with a 25 metre pass !!

Phantom Drafts
Good call. I think they reckon it’s a flat draft after Rowell and Anderson. But (excluding Green) Young, Ash, Serong and Kemp are also all very very good prospects who are highly rated and worth holding the pick. Say Picks 12 & 18 for pick 3? Not sure it’s a good punt.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Where’s his best position. I have seen him play CHF and was ok. But his finals were terrible. He missed targets. He played reserve ruck and looked slow. Maybe was out of position. Definitely not a wingman as some on D-land have suggested.

Farewell Sam Frost
Frost could take Brown and destroy him Frost could take Josh Kennedy and destroy him Frost could take Franklin and destroy him. That was 2019.

The 2019 AFL Draft Combine
Agreed. Goalkicker. Watched him a few weeks ago against the Falcons. He starred with good pace and goal sense. Charlie Dean was another at the Dragons that i was impressed with as a tall marking forward and I reckon should be on our radar.

Farewell Sam Frost
Jetta May Lever Salem Frost Hibberd Lever is not a key back. Looks lost man on man. His best is playing the 3rd defender who comes off his man. Hore can help but is better as a mid sized defender. Had a very good year and showed why a VFL background is a handy entry to AFL Frost shutdown most key forwards this year. We can only hope that May’s hamstring lasts more than 2 weeks in a row. Petty is developing but needs to go from slow to medium. I am hopeful. Oscar Mc. No. Oh no. 2 years of woe. Slow. Ineffective. Out bodied. Lucky to get a game with Casey really.
