  1. Marley Williams. There must be some issue. He looks okay and fits one of our needs. Small defender. Tough player. Good pace and long left foot kick. He was very good at the Pies and shifted to North. He was supposedly in a good space with Rhys Shaw as coach as he had a good bond from the Filthy pies connection.
  2. He signed with the Suns through to the end of 2023. Had an excellent 2019. I’m not sure why he would be out of the Suns line up. I think Anderson may have taken his wing role. When I’ve seen him play, he has had good run and skills and good composure. I’d be willing to talk if the Suns were putting him up.
  3. Maybe they should have 28 teams and have a random draw with the top 8 teams competing via two conferences. Simples. ?
  4. I think I am struggling to see where he fits in. I definitely don’t think Spargo can be a small defender. He is too slight and his tackling is below average. Midfield? No to a slight maybe. His footy IQ is good but generally his output is not great. That’s why he also slipped down in the draft year and his shoulder issue. I can’t see him being a rover and in the centre clearances action. So he’s a small forward. He is not a Pickett type intensity forward but does have the smarts. His kicking for goal has improved (he now can kick over 35 metres). Whether we can play him and Pickett together is a puzzle. Unfortunately Charlie’s very best is just AFL standard and he’s another who may be destined to be stuck, as not quite AFL standard but better than a next level down.
  5. Jack Gunston. 207 games. 394 goals. 3x Premiership player. 2018 All Australian. 27 goals this year in a team placed 16th. He would walk into our side as the best forward option. No argument. Will be 29 at start of 2021. I’d offer him a 4-year deal no question. He would easily be a 40+ goalkicker in a regular season. I can’t see why offering Hawks a future 2nd rounder 2021 pick is paying overs. I think they might be insulted. He is a very very good player.
  6. Giants: Isaac Cumming 21yo. Running small defender 184cm. 84 kgs. 4 years at Giants but stuck behind Williams and Heath Shaw. With the sun setting on Jetta and Lockhart seemingly not in favour, Dees could grab Cumming. He’d fit really well into our defence. Could even get a shot as a running mid. Good pace. How to get it done ? - Offer a 3 year deal. Giants won’t offer that. Trade options. Swap for Preuss or Swap for Joel Smith. Or trade 3rd round (hopefully acquired for ANB back to Crows).
  7. Saad for Tom McDonald, future 2nd round and ... I’ll even throw in Oscar “steak knives” McDonald
  8. Yes is it so the coaches don’t cheat a little and sneak in a vote for their man !
  9. Clearly not as agile as 2018. He’s slower and turns like the titanic. Marking not quite one grab. He might have a big preseason but we need to consider other options for 2021 and beyond.
  10. What do you find in a paddock occupied by a bull ? This article in full of it
  11. Aim for Gunston in exchange for a future 2nd round. He would add a lot to our firepower.
  12. Age votes for Dees v Giants were May, Langdon, Gawn, Petracca, Kelly. AFL Website has Petracca as our 3rd best. He might sneak a vote especially with the goal he kicked to end the first quarter.
  13. You don’t need a nomination to be a “rising star”. Riv is a rising star ⭐️ and won it for the Dees on the weekend. Very happy with our new number 24.
  14. All practical and reasonable and strangely a sprinkle of common sense
  15. Love to see Trac end the year on a high with a BOG effort this weekend. He’s had a great year. He might match Gus with a bronze medal in the Brownlow count. I think they have been managing his workload for the last 4 games and played him more as a forward/midfielder.
  16. WE HAVE TO BEAT THE BOMBERS. WE HAVE TO. I couldn’t stand it if we didn’t. My bombers mates reckon Dees are soft and melt like butter. I really want to rip into them but have no confidence with our habit of losing the most winnable games or the most important. WE HAVE TO WIN
  17. Head high contact. Reckless. Low impact. $1000 fine for Eddie. That’s loose change !!
  18. Dogs also got a few handy FS players in Wallis, Liberatore, West. Cats got Scarlett, Hawkins, Ablett, Bews from FS. But the NGA was a strange one and glad to see it will change. I don’t actually think the Crows will bid for Ugle-Hogan. I think that will be left to the Kangas at pick 2. Dogs will get a huge boost from a biased system.
  19. Applying the no DH RULE it’s a no from me
  20. May is in career best form ... undeniably. Definitely should be AA this year. Back to the Tmac subject. He is now about to turn 28. He has certainly deteriorated in form and it might be time to offer him up in a trade. He might represent some value for a club looking at depth in a key position back or forward. Unfortunately his $$$ ask might scare some clubs away. What would we get? Not much I’d imagine.
  21. I think they tried to turn a fast rebounding half back into an opportunist forward. It worked on occasion but should never have been the permanent switch. Hunt can still play a key role for us with his pace. Often we bemoan our lack of pace and we corner this bloke in the forward pocket. I would definitely like to see him return to a half back or wing role. He was a fast rebounding defender. His 2016 and 2017 years were excellent.
  22. Agree. Need Weid or Fritsch or Kozzy to light it up and kick a bag. (ie. In modern day footy in 2020, 4 goals or more is a bag).
  23. I think we all agree. He has the talent. It’s his intensity that can lift, improved goalkicking accuracy will help, and he needs to play smart footy starting with getting in front. I’d like to see him get a 3 or 4 goal game this week.
  24. He’s not really a Smokey pick but I’d love to see grab Angus Baker as a late pick. 22yo ex Swans academy player who had a great season for Canberra in the NEAFL. Was the leagues best player and played very well against the AFL clubs aligned reserves teams. Tough running skilled half back. 189cms 83 kgs. Would take mid sized defender and probably fit into Hibberds role. I know we have Rivers but Baker also would be handy. One to consider.
