2019 AFL National Draft prospects: The next batch
spirit of norm smith replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
With picks 3,26,50 as we stand with today 3- choices down to Young (Skilled tall half back) Serong (smart ball winning small midfielder) Ash (Running half back with burst of pace) or Kemp (the Dangerfield type wildcard who was super impressive as a tall mid but injured his knee and will miss most of 2020). Enough said about the variety here 26- a small forward may drop here so we could grab either Cody Weightman or Elijah Taylor at this pick. Miles Bergman could still be here and would be impossible to pass up. 50 - A punt here. Not sure if JT would look for a key position player project type here with height or the best available types. Brodie Smith (Power U18s skipper) is a competitive youngster and his intensity + smarts reminds me of a cross of Castagna and Rampe OR we could pickup a bargain in Charlie Dean, Dragons U18s, a classy agile CHF who trained with the Dees in preseason 2019. Darcy Cassar the Western Jets halfback/half can be a real player with a Mitch Duncan type game. Gets the footy and uses it. Campbell Hustwaite, the 2018 Stingrays skipper who played for Collingwoods VFL team and showed ability as a defensive mid but also get the footy (like Tigers Kane Lambert but a left footer) -
We have seen basket case teams and this MFC team is not one. Gawn and Oliver are as good as any player. Next level NEEDS to step up. our next 10 can all improve and get fit and on the park May. Trac. Brayshaw. Harmes. Viney. Lever. Melksham. Tmcd. Salem. Hibberd. Jetta will be back and makes a difference. Langdon and Tomlinson already will make us better Weidemans development is crucial. If he FINALLY fulfills his promise and lifts his hunger and intensity, we will look very dangerous again. Vandenberg KK Jsmith are all needing to overcome injury issues and will be huge bonus if fit. Hore has the making of a very solid midsize defender. His marking reminds me of a Harry Taylor type Fritsch showed again that he is a very skilled and dangerous forward. Definitely a best 18 player now. Can Hunt and Hannan develop any more. Both very good and important as goalkickers. Baker cwagner Spargo need to show more in 2020 to stay on the list we can see potential already in Petty, Sparrow, Lockhart, Jordan and Chandler. Bedford and Bradtke are still raw but likely list cloggers like Jkh, JWagner, Omcd need to go It’s plenty of sunshine ahead with the right coaching, intensity, game strategy and importantly fit and healthy playing list.

Buckenara: Dees List Overrated
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Exactly. Buckenara was drunk when he dribbled this crapola. Insulting and ignorant person. -
The 2019 Draft and Trade Targets Thread
spirit of norm smith replied to Nascent's topic in Melbourne Demons
Ins. Langdon Tomlinson out. Frost traded, Lewis TSmith Maynard retired , Garlett Keilty delisted. Walker cat B Stretch and JKH both out of contract. See if any interest or may retain/delist. Stretch was noted as having interest from Suns 4 spots available. Likely we will add one DFA or a late trade. Three draft picks 3,26,50. -
Old chinese proverb!

It’s a 60/40 likelihood that we’ll give him an escape option. Not sure imo but he adds pace. Disposal needs serious improvement which is common already in our squad.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON

Langdon. Yes exactly what we need. Run. Outside pace. Run. And Run. Will love the MCG. He is a wingman. (Imo I still don’t think Tomlinson is set for the wing. He is versatile and may fix a CHB or CHF need) -
It was so obvious but still so funny

Everyone wants to join the $$$$$saints.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
spirit of norm smith replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Winner winner. Great deal. He’s a gun and happy with the deal. -
Agree. I feel the Hawks are already laughing. I think we got done over on this. Btw I really hate hawthorn.
-
I hate Hawthorn. They laugh at us and we carry zero respect. If in this mad universe that we trade away Frost, we need to get value. Pick 30 or fu&&(off.

Tom Green (Drafted by GWS Giants)
spirit of norm smith replied to Redleg's topic in Melbourne Demons
We would definitely nominate him. He will be a Cripps like midfielder. Scary given talent at Giants already. I’d nominate him to annoy Giants and make them use max points to match it. -
Didn’t free agency end today. ?? Saints have an offer that we can beat. Tell Newnes not to go to draft but we’ll pick in psd. I just want to see the Saints get nutted.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON

It’s been the go. Hope Freo aren’t being ridiculous and asking for more. -
I thought Richo might push for Dees to look at Newnes. He seemed to be a good running type with excellent foot skills. Maybe not quite enough of the footy for a midfield role. I didn’t see enough of the Saints though to view as a definite yes or no. Others view? Could we still offer (screw over the Saints) and offer to take as pick 2 in preseason draft?

Let the Crows pay his huge $$$ pay rate. They are rabble. No club should take him on, not even the Suns.
