  1. Sometimes it’s a lottery. Like the free kicks, umps watch the game in a different way to most of us. Trac deserves a few extra votes but that’s just imo!
  2. Yes it’s probably the end for Stefan
  3. It’s a race for second. Neale will get the Lions votes and easily get 25-27 votes. Petracca should attract the umpires attention like a Dusty or Dangerfield. I hope he does get at least the 18 or 19 votes he deserves and reward him for a great year.
  4. Bulldogs see Hannan as an upgrade on Sam Lloyd and Tory Dickson has come to an end. They seemed to have Vandermeer and the inconsistent Bailey Dale as half forwards. I think they are still p&$d-off by us grabbing Hannan ahead of them after he had a very good year in the Dogs VFL team in 2017. My point was that you ask the question and see what is the response. Hannan is worth at least a 3rd round pick imo. 50 games. Consistent goal kicker.
  5. If the Bulldogs really want Hannan , I am not interested in a pick. I’d force their hand and ask for Louis Butler. Sure he’s only 19 and played no senior footy, but I rate this kid and was surprised that he was left in the draft until pick 53 last year. I had him around a pick in the low 30s and would not have been disappointed if the Dees picked him. Had a very good under 18s year at Sandringham and Vic metro and captained Brighton Grammar. He is like Trent Rivers in his run, skills, intensity and size. A very good kick which is a must. Suits a half back or wing role. Let’s see if they are interested.
  6. Agree if I’m Mahoney, my key targets are both Isaac Smith (as a free agent) and Tom Phillips (squeezed out by Pies). I’m happy with a two-year deal for Smith and at least a three-year deal for Phillips. They add tremendous run and our need for the left wing. I’m less convinced about Polec $$ who seemingly have issues which is why North are potentially looking to unload.
  7. Given Preuss now needing a fresh opportunity to become a number 1 ruckman elsewhere, it was interesting to see Stef Martin last night. Martin was a developing athletic young ruckman at the Dees and was a strong performer in the ruck when Jamar was out injured in 2011. Obviously the Dees has Jamar and a young Max Gawn and so Martin was squeezed out at the end of 2012 after 57 games. Martin has now played 8 years at the Lions for 133 games and whilst he’s has a few injuries has had an excellent career. Turns 34 in December so tough call but probably one more chance at a flag if he goes on.
  8. Trade time will through up surprises but I’m expecting Merrett will stay a bomber.
  9. but we danced like this when TRENT RIVERS KICKED THE WINNER against the Giants
  10. I agree Trac’s best this year are awesome. v GWS - the pickup on the run and kick from 45 metres on a tight angle v Kangas - the spoil, the run and burst and kick from 55 metres v Blues - Huge goal, contested mark v Newnes on 60 metres out and to burst clear and kick it from 55 out v Hawks - contested mark v Sicily and then the goal from 50 metres out v Saints 1. the match winning goal beating 3 Saints and kicking it whilst being held. 2. The first goal from 55 metres out
  11. Fumbled tonight. No real influence.
  12. yes Oliver kicked a beauty v Kangas. Last minute goal. Banana from the pocket but less exciting as we were already 9 goals up and no crowd.
  13. Ben Gibson is a star. Very good Brownlow preview on the MFC website.
  14. I reckon his got 17 votes. Enough to finish top 5 but Neale is the roaring favourite
  15. Remember the days when we had sensational marks and a few winners of the Mark of the Year. Great marking especially by Schwartz and Shaun Smith and Jeff Farmer and Robbo and Liam Jurrah and Jeremy Howe. Even in 2019 we had Bailey Fritsch taking a screamer to get our Dees mark of the year. But in 2020 there was no nomination for any Dees player from the 17 games. In fact I cannot remember any special marks or courageous marks this year. Any nominations?
  16. 2020 Demons Goal of the Year Christian Petracca. Round 11 v Kangas
  17. Ken Hinkley. Great post game media conference. Disappointed but calm and still positive.
  18. Laughing even more now.
  19. Agree Titan. Let’s keep laughing at the suggestion he is a forward.
  20. Yes he was definitely the type we needed and was highly recommended at the 2017 draft. We got Lever for the two 1st rounders in 2017 and 2018 so missed on Bailey in 2017. He is quietly becoming a very good player and his pace is valuable for the Lions. ?
  21. Exactly. I’m smelling a stitch up
  22. I’m still on the fence. Brown has huge talent and I think the potential to be a huge asset. But I feel he’s fragile. Kangas obviously know something. Why let him go ??
  23. Just a reminder. Walks into our best 22
  24. Get him in. It’s a perfect match. Suits our needs. Instantly makes us a better team. We need to screw over the pies on the deal. Phillips for a pick in the 40s.
  25. Nev is a gun. Love him. Courage. Loyalty. Gives 100% and more !! Mentor to the young indigenous boys. Helps Steven May. Always great for a chat. I will hate to see him in black and white. Hate it. Footy is so cruel. But I respect Nev and his wishes. If he goes, he will be welcome back anytime.
