  1. Yes I was wondering about that. Given we have plenty of Dees to cover, it’s less likely. But surely if they want, then he (and Mitch Robinson) should be able to play. They got little game time and assume they’d be better for the run.
  2. Wow. Another great game by LJ v Lions. That’s where he’s at his best. He was at the contest and 2nd efforts. Tackling also was a standout. His value has been volatile over the past few weeks. Really hope he stays. But if not, he’s value is high and it’s 2x 1st round picks imv.
  3. Loved the 10 goal win. Hated the last 2 goals that the Lions got. Especially the shocker of an ump that gave them the free in the last minute. Could be costly … or not!! I agree it’s “anywhere anytime”. Hope we get 2nd and eventually it’s a Cats v Dees grand final. Bring it!!
  4. 6. Oliver (and 3 Brownlow votes 👏🔥) 5. Lever 4. May 3. Hunt 2. Pickett 1. Petty Loved Hibbo’s game. His anticipation and run to negate Cameron was excellent. And of course apologues to Trac, Gus, Gawn, Jackson, Fritta, Harmesy and Rivers (negated McCarthy). Everyone played their role.
  5. I think James Brayshaw is very very biased against the Dees. Clearly barracked for Pies and Blues in recent games. Johnathan (DS) Brown is a grub himself. Courageous at the footy but happy to swing his arm to the head on occasions. I was at the game and Zorko was the agitator. Langdon runs him down, holding the ball and he proceeds to get Langdon in the head lock (no 50!!). Zorko is their skipper and wanted to rough the Dees up. It backfired big time !! He was the super-grub last night.
  6. A dominant performance by the Dees v Brisbane. Saw it live and really liked our ball movement. Most of the stats had the Lions even or ahead. But it’s deceiving because our ball movement and scoring/goal kicking was rewarding our play. The forward line looked open and dangerous. No packs, congested contest forward line footy. what I loved … Kicks 216 handballs 119 yes we ran and kicked and hit targets. It was noticeable and great to see the little useless handballing to stationary players was virtually non existent. The run was back. Some special mentions. Clarry. 18 kicks (12 handballs) metres gained 578 . Brayshaw(18k9hb) Hunt (15k3hb), May (16k4hb) and Fritsch (13k. Zero handballs ). Trac also was kicking it more, and not always looking for the handball option. May our “football” continue into September. Go Dees.
  7. 28c today currently 24c By 7:50. Forecast 19c clear skies
  8. I love it. Yes 6 wins from 6 interstate trips !!!
  9. Ps. Howes to kick 4 and shoot into finals contention. 🤞
  10. Top of the table clash. Lions on home deck and strong team as well. Together with Southport, Lions are probably the closest threat to Casey. Sunny 22c day forecast tomorrow so beautiful conditions for footy. Go the CASEY Demons.
  11. Hope not. He’s got no real pace and physically limited. He gets pushed aside too easily. Cottrell beat him twice last week in costly contests. But he’s smart and needed for goal setups. His best is up to standard but he’s been poor in several games this year. He MUST be in the game tonight and imv hit the scoreboard himself. I’d like to see him kick 2 goals minimum tonight.
  12. He’s nearly there. Just trying to workout his role. He’s not quite the onballer and not quite a goalkicking half forward. But he nearly is. Not as much development this year from Tommy as we’d hoped. But he stepped up in the finals last year and hope he can tonight and in the finals. Keep the faith.
  13. We know it’s very very tough tonight. They are a 6-7 goal better team at the Gabba. It’s going to be a finals atmosphere. Lions have won 9 from 10 home games in 2022 Lions have won 35 out of last 37 home games in the regular session. That’s a massive home ground advantage. Like in the final round of ‘21, down at Pussyland park, we showed we can win (albeit just) against the odds and beat feral home town favourites and the Umps. Go Dees. Unleash hell !!
  14. We probably need to find the Peter Wright type. The player who has yet to truly show his potential due to lack of opportunities or injuries.
  15. Hogan kicked 5. Garlett kicked 4. They were a potent combination in 2018 !!
  16. No. We know it’s very very tough. They are a 6-7 goal better team at the Gabba. It’s going to be a finals atmosphere. Lions have won 9 from 10 home games in 2022 Lions have won 35 out of last 37 home games in the regular session. That’s a massive home ground advantage. When was the last time we beat them at the Gabba … ???
  17. Hmmm Harmesy brings added aggression and will tag Neale. Jordon has had a good year and his kicking is an asset. But he does slow the movement of the footy. We might push Brayshaw to the wing given plenty of cover across the half back line.
  18. Win. Likely play Sydney in Sydney. Double chance Lose. Likely play Tigers at the MCG. Elimination final.
  19. Lots on here were calling for their delisting but they’ve been very good in the past few games. They are not stars but perhaps you are measured sometimes by the contributions of your “17-22” selected type players. Hunt brings run and pace (and a stylish headband) and Milkshake brings a bit of aggro and hunger for goals (and I hear if required a lethal right hook).
  20. 1 Clayton Oliver 2 Christian Petracca 3 Angus Brayshaw 4 Jack Viney 5 Max Gawn Confident that this will be the finishing order in our B&F though Max missing games may drop him down May might get #5 which would be a good reward for another very good year imv
  21. @george_on_the_outer Thanks team. I agree it’s not just one reason for our poor conversion rate. Much lower than other teams. Lack of a big string marking forward. Poor delivery into the 50. Poor connection. Goalkicking accuracy. Going inside our forward 50, I think we definitely do kick to the pockets more and it is definitely a different tactic to other sides. I’m sure the discussion will continue whether it’s effective or not.
  22. Jake’s kick?? Intent or a miskick. Hmmm. Not sure. Got a lucky bounce to keep the game alive. Jayden Hunts run and kick was the key to get it to the square. That’s the gold !!!
  23. V Carlton Kicks 210. Handballs 140. +70 kicks. Much better this week v Blues and special mention to Gus 24 kicks 14 handballs, May 22 kicks 3 handballs and Hunt 14 kicks 5 handballs.
  24. @binman @Demonland Thanks to you for the podcast. Great listening. Query. I heard the podcast but the answer to my Q1 doesn’t make sense. Binman said about “less turnovers and Kozzzzy chasing down Rich and causing turnovers”. And “less likely to turnover the footy when it’s 70 metres out”. It sounded like the answer to Question 2 re the kick out of May to outside the 50. (Ps. Stats show Cats, Lions& Swans have highest score rates from inbound kick outs). Question 1 was our “Kicking into our forward 50 into the forward pockets” and the lack of scoring. We lead in forward 50 entries but have one of the lowest conversion rates. We are easy to defend in the pocket. Hunt’s final kick v blues showed how dangerous it is when you kick to the hotspot, 10 metres out , top of the square !! Happy to hear more of this strange “pocket “ offensive strategy. It’s like we want to cause a ball up or out of bounds.
  25. I agree. Talk about Lever’s kick. It was Hunt that created the chance. His run and explode to burst and kick long to the top of the square !!!! Hallelujah. That’s the key. It created the chance. It created the pressure. of course Kozzzzzy 😘😘😘😘😘
