  1. Graeme Molloy. Wow. Thatโ€™s going back. Probably Watts comparison not quite right. Perhaps a young Neitz ๐Ÿคžtype (as good forward as back) or as a modern comparison perhaps heโ€™s similar to Oscar Allen at the Eagles. I agree his versatility and ability in the air and on the ground is a good blend and we can give him time to develop. Another strategic JT pick ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  2. SELECT Premiership cards. Ordered 6/oct. amazingly got text yesterday to say they are packed and for delivery 29/ nov ๐Ÿคž I had forgotten that Iโ€™d ordered them !!!!!
  3. Some sliders past round 1 - Johnson, Howes, Sonsie, Butler, Draper and Goater. Some bargains there. Predicted 2nd rounders like Zac Taylor, Bazzo, Knevitt and Conway should also go in the next round by the early-mid 30s. Hopefully (but at long odds) Connor Macdonald falls to our next pick. Highly skilled running midfielder would be another great addition.
  4. https://central.rookieme.com/afl/player/jacob-van-rooyen/ ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป (jumper number 21 perhaps)
  5. Back in JT. He knows we will need to develop another young tall, probably in the current Tmac role. Hope we get to hear from the great man on the selection.
  6. Welcome aboard JVR. We can give him the time to develop without rushing him in.
  7. A lot of the media write ups have โ€œJack Gunstonโ€ as his player comparison. He seems to be a very good mark and loves a goal. Howes seems more agile as well and can play anywhere across the lines. Would be a very good addition if he was the chosen one.
  8. Dees landed the 2021 1st round pick from the Dogs, as part of the mega trade between Dees, Dogs, Crows and Saints. With Crows getting MFC 1st round 2022 pick. So we get into the first round with pick 17, wisely mooted as pick 19 given the Darcy and Daicos bids. Once again the Dees have invested in a buy-now-pay-later trade. We had benefitted previously from this to get Weideman, Pickett and Bowey from such earlier deals. It now means we are into the frame to get another young gun into the club. It might be a slider like Sinn, Sonsie or Goater. Or through media predictions likely a Howes, Chesser, Wilmot, or Brown. Or Van-Rooyen as a flexible future key fwd/defender. Or Mitch Knevitt as a prototype tall midfielder. Or even conduct a Stk NGA steal of Mitchito Owens is another potential option. JT will have lots of strategies and names. His preparation is undoubtedly one of the best (if not the very best ) in the league. He may even try further magic and trade up the board with another gun in his sights. Whatever the outcome, it should be the start of an AFL journey for a young player and and an exciting night for him and his family and friends. Certainly the Dees have become a preferred club now and we boast an excellent development setup headed by Yze and Choco, to help youngsters realise their dreams. JT ๐Ÿ†โญ๏ธ has been one of the keys behind the Dees success and we can trust in his decisions and strategies.
  9. 1st round Phantom in The Age. (Howes again). https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/phantom-afl-draft-how-the-first-round-could-play-out-20211123-p59bbj.html
  10. ๐ŸคžHowes lasts to our 1st pick. Heโ€™s a strong chance. Certainly has the skills and marking ability to be a very good player.
  11. Thanks @DeeSpencer One thing is guaranteed. JT and the team have all the experience and strategies. Runs on the board. We are in good hands.
  12. Agreed. Wait and see. JT has nailed it over several years so we are in good hands ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป
  13. Thanks. Heโ€™s very open and we are in good hands. Trying to think what are the โ€œneedsโ€. We look strong across all lines. As DL posters have discussed, it could be another young Key Foreward (like a JVR in 1st round or Jack Williams in 2nd round if they are available). Or it could be to add another mid sized defender with run such as Chesser, Brown or Wilmot. In #JT we trust ๐Ÿ†โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
  14. Cal predicts its MFC choosing Blake Howes at 19. Definitely ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป๐Ÿคž He also notes Brown, Chesser, Wilmot as options - all good running half back defenders and either would be a good addition. Whoever we pick , they are going to be very happy. Dees have a very good development program now and great club culture, so lots of youngsters will be hoping to land in the red and blue. Itโ€™s going to be an exciting week for 50-60 young men in their quest to play in the AFL.
  15. Correct they โ€œmissedโ€ him. Like being offered a share of Winx as a yearling and saying no.
  16. Interesting phantom draft. Owens comes under the Saints NGA allocations. Theyโ€™d be majorly [censored]-off if MFC grabbed him at โ€œ19โ€. (Saints fans still canโ€™t believe they missed on Petracca). Owens plays like Jake Stringer from my view. An agile forward (190cm) who could rotate through stints in the midfield. Heโ€™s a good player, through strong aerial skills and is good in the contest. I thought heโ€™d be mid 2nd round (25-35 range) but given he wins strong contested footy, he may appeal to our ๐Ÿ†JTโญ๏ธ.
  17. itโ€™s a good read. Shifter is a legend in analysis of youngsters and of the draft going back probably 25+ years now. Some notable call outs Finn Callaghan. Player comparison the Bont Neil Erasmus. Player comparison Christian Petracca. yes I can see it but itโ€™s a huge call. Loved that Shifter has referenced lots of Dees players in his player comparisons. Erasmus >Petracca. Gibcus> Lever. Bazzo > May. Cooper Hamilton > Rivers. Andrew > Dogga. Sinn > Salem. Sheldrick > Viney.
  18. Just bumping the thread to bring it back up the board and hope DL posters can enjoy listening to it on a relaxing Sunday. I listened whilst enjoying a coffee this morning and enjoyed the whole 30 minutes. Thanks Demonland for bringing it to us. Really enjoyed listening to Goodys journey from his Day 1 and building relationships with the players and with the club. Great insights to the man and the coaching role. Learnings. New ideas. Fulfillment. His Mentors. Team culture. Leadership. Ownership by the players. Love the openness and more relaxed style in Goodyโ€™s conversation. Obviously heโ€™s feeling more content after season 2021 and is definitely in a โ€œhappy placeโ€. Love it that Goody recognised the pain and the raw emotions of the long suffering Dees supporters, and how the premiership has brought such happiness and joy to all Demon members and supporters. Recruitment. Goodys echoes what we hear about the MFC (JT) drafting philosophy. High character and competitive nature โ€ฆ willing to compete every day. Thank you Goody. Thank you MFC. We are Proud to Belong. Absolutely!!!
  19. Really looking forward to finally hearing โ€œGoodyโ€™s GF winning coachs speechโ€. Given he now can really have more time (then the usual 90 seconds post the GF), Iโ€™m looking forward to how he has built the team culture and how it all clicked in 2021.
  20. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/how-your-club-stands-ahead-of-the-2021-draft-20211118-p59a1f.html thanks WJ. I was just reading this on The Age website. Good team summary and write up. Journalists seem to have correctly classified our players and shown we have good depth and stars across all areas. Agree that youngsters like Howes and Chesser would be excellent additions as Demonlanders have added. A young development key forward like WAโ€™s Jack Williams could be an option with the pick โ€œ37โ€ as it currently stands as the Dees have plenty of time to put into development.
  21. Thank you @BDA Great scenes as Jack Viney shows his Demons great dad the premiership cup I saw this on Twitter under the Melbourne Footy club Twitter posts - which was from โ€œ The Demons Premiership Cup ๐Ÿ†โ€ itโ€™s great fun seeing Dees fanatics reactions !!โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
  22. I love the commitment to the MFC. ๐Ÿคฃโค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ†
  23. Any news or spec here on Doggaโ€™s updated contract?
  24. Iโ€™ve clocked over watching this 45 minutes at least 20 times now. It is most amazing footy ever produced by a MFC team in my lifetime. And in such a sensational way in the biggest game of the year. ๐Ÿ†โค๏ธ๐Ÿ’™
