  1. Spoke to a mate who has become pretty good friends with jesse and while she doesn't know anything about the footy side of things it bought a pretty big smile to my face to hear he is absolutely loving Melbourne so far!
  2. I actually think alot of prendo's decisions were based on keeping the big names happy, Blease is Scullys best mate, Tappy is Trenners i always wonder if they were selected perhaps early because of that alone.
  3. I disagree respectfully mate, i think Fitzpatrick has very much got himself into a position to challenge Dawes for his spot in the team, Dawes leadership imo is the only real bonus he has over Fitz I agree on Clark if he is fit he is in regardless of anything else.
  4. It really is amazing that someone didn't slap Mark Neeld when some of these list decisions were being made last year, a 3 year deal for Pederson gets me every time i think about it, North Melbourne would have been pissing themselves laughing.
  5. If he is behaving himself i'd be open to asking him to train and a potential spot on the rookie list, we all know how good his best football is.
  6. I would say Garland is our most complete defender, Chip is the best we have at shutting down a power forward but garlo can shut down talls, smalls, mediums, can play forward, could play midfield in bursts imo and is fantastic at counter attacking
  7. That's very Paul Roos in my opinion, get better performances out of a couple of solid mids i'm still very much for offering it to GWS for Adams and pick 10 i am certain that's as good a trade offer as they will get for him, and we could offer Adams a good long term contract and the ability to play under Roos
  8. I fully understand the value of the best available argument, it's something we have been seriously lacking in recent year, but i think in this case drafting on needs should become a serious consideration, this kid will in my opinion be as good as his brother, watched him play a few times and even his bad games are solid, he doesn't take a backwards step and is able to play well in the middle. i think around the 30-35 mark is about right for him at this stage so either we trade to get a pick at that mark or we are going to have to stretch, i do feel pick 20 is going to be for a top line player who slips abit lower than expected, maybe a dunstan, sheed, crouch or freeman might slip that far. but if we lose Sylvia the compo might be around the right mark?
  9. Sorry guys, this idea was based on two VFL games where he looked a class above in my opinion, also being in the bests a few times. didn't realise he had so many question marks over him, it's amazing North wanted him in the first place.
  10. On the AFL website regarding Jordan Gysberts it says "It is understood Gysberts and Kennedy will be delisted if they don't find new homes in October's trade period" Would we look at getting him back as a delisted free agent?
  11. Just looked at the Author and cringed haha, i suppose most people would have known this was coming though.
  12. I hope we put in a phone call to this guy.
  13. On one of those facebook page things ( i know they're not reliable in any way ) it says the hawks have taken their offer off the table for Buddy and are thinking of a future without him, i personally don't believe this for a second considering it's like 2 nights out from a prelim final, but still it would seem that GWS might land their man if there is any truth to that rumour.
  14. Of all the things i love watching about the way Aish plays footy, he reminds me a little of Travis Jonstone and that concerns me abit. i'd prefer to pull the trigger early on Crouch or Freeman, i think Freeman is this years Dangerfield and Crouch would be ready to go round 1 2014, attacks the ball like jack viney, is a contested ball clearance machine with decent pace and skills, reminds me alot of Sam Mitchell
  15. Swallows year in the VFL was something special, i feel his best form would trump the best of anyone else on the list and his worse would still trump most of our list.
  16. Adams is a ten year inside mid with no off field baggage, and less of a profile so much easier to get a deal done, cheaper and imo his best football isn't far behind Martin anyway, Martin looks maybe a little better than his is because of the quality of the richmond midfield, he is all attack and no defense.
  17. He'd be a good pickup, but i'm not sure of handing over pick 2 for Selwood alone, i wonder if we could do 2 and a player for selwood and 8?
  18. Nathan Jones is our heart and soul spiritual leader, he doesn't need to be captain to be a leader but i think his being our best player for the last few years and leading the way he has earns him the right to be our captain in 2014.
  19. I really like Billings also, but Roos said the other day he thinks we have alot of flankers who can rotate through the midfield and not alot of genuine mids and that's a huge issue for us, so i think this will count against Billings.
  20. From what i have seen of Aish i'd be more than happy just to take him, Sharenberg or Sheed ahead of Matrin, Yes Martin is a good option in terms of a much improved midfield in 2014, but he clearly has off field issues, he could cause issues from a cultural perspective. James Aish, Taylor Adams, Daniel Cross and Zak Jones to me is a very good result in terms of improving our midfield, the nucleus of a quality midfield is there, it requires time and development and depth, not a total rebuild.
  21. It's possible, we would need Adams to declare we are the club he wants to come to and be able to sell pick 2 well to Richmond which wouldn't be hard
  22. He is out of contract at the end of 2014, yes he will be a free agent at that time but a restricted free agent so we have the right to match any offer made for him, i am very confident that will Paul Roos in charge we will be able to keep him.
  23. That's fine, as far as i am aware Cross qualifies as a delisted free agent and has no bearing on compensation anyway, his 28 touches, ten clearances game in the prelim will boost him and was ranked around pick 35 before that so it's not a stretch to think he would be around 25 if he has a good game in the grand final, maybe it's a couple of spots early, but well worth it in my opinion.
  24. The thing that is sticking in my mind is the fact that this idea was already raised with the AFL when PJ met with them, they were aware we were asking for a priority pick, they could have said look i think it's not the best idea if you apply for it as the other clubs will be upset, if that was going to be a factor that's considered, the fact we have raised this with the AFL already and still put in the application for one can only be a good sign
  25. I wonder how the little meeting in perth today is going?
