People forget this bloke is going to cost nothing he is easily in our best 22 if not our best handful of players and will add huge leadership on and off the field, i can't think of a reason to not chase him as a delisted free agent.

I think Colin Garland would be a good choice for captain, Jones is a great onfield leader title of not and is improving every year, if something aint broke don't fix it but Garland is ultra consistant, plays his role for the team week in week out, great on and off field leader either Garland or Jones unless we attract a big name player somehow.

Will he be in our best 22? yes. will he have a positive influence off field? yes. is he the right sort of player to effect a cultural change? yes. go for it.

I think the thing about Roosy is that he is an honest to god good bloke, no spin on things like with Neeld, knows it will be hard but is clearly up for the challenge and makes no secret of the fact he rates the players.

Swallow has the upside to become a genuine elite mid like his brother, when he was drafted most recruiters thought he would be even better than his brother, hence selection at pick 1 Adams looks a good player but not sure he has as much improvement in him as Swallow would be thrilled if we somehow got both.

I would LOVE atley, they would want a whole lot for him though, if it's true in the first place.

I think Pick 9 would be good for everyone as a priority, it's very tradeable, probably gets us Taylor Adams it goes straight back into the mix, doesn't effect any non finals teams.

Top 8 next year isn't out of the question but we need to manage expectations every year. i'd be happy just to win back some respect, not get laughed at for wearing my mfc polo would be nice for us to make top 8 a few things need to happen imo 1. need to trade and recruit well, at least 2 ready to go mids, maybe a half back and half forward ( Adams, Sloane, Greenwood fit the bill for me, develop jetta as our back pocket specialist, and Barry or Blease as the small forward 2. we need to stay injury free, keeping Clark, Dawes and Frawley on the park for as much of 2014 as possible would be vital 3. Hogan, Clark and Dawes would need to combine for around the 100 goal mark, ( i think this is realistic if the midfield improves ) 4. Trengove needs to have a breakout year, remind the world why he was a pick 2 basically, if our midfield improves, our very good looking forward line of Watts Dawes Hogan Howe Clark Blease will get plenty of chances to kick a winning score ( it's going to cause some headaches either way ) Viney, Toumpas and Kent should continue to rise anyway All Australian quality years from, Frawley, Garland, Jones, Clark and Watts would be very nice.

The thing that makes it sweeter is when Roos says there this talent on this list, people sorta just laugh, i hope Roos makes them look stupid and fast, i reckon we have the potential to turn this around real quick.

Roosy really is fired up isn't he, i hope this rubs off on the players leading into a huge pre season for the club!

Yeah, maybe not the sort of player we are after then, i remember watching him in 2012 and thinking he might well turn out to be a very good player, but i suppose you don't lose your spot in the side for no reason.

Most likely a combination of things, stress fracture, existing injuries ( OP ) pressure of being captain, pressure of supplements scandal, lack of confidence, worrying too much about other players, i thought his performance become quite consistent towards the end of the year, and in the very last game he showed a little bit more zip i'm sure Roos will have a plan for how to sort that out, i feel his zip back would make him a much better player, pace and confidence

Quality player at North, played every game in 2012, only 3 in 2013, reportedly works very hard but can't break into the side Might be keen on a few more opportunities?

Most would have said it was very unlikely you'd see Mitch Clark at Melbourne, and people certainly said it's very unlikely Paul Roos would coach Mfc.

Seems this like alot of cases may be a situation where the club may need to change coaches to take the next step, Hardwick has done a good job building a strong list but someone like Choco would be able to read the game as you say and help them improve that 10-15% that would make them a premiership contender.
