  1. The interesting thing being at Fremantle, it will all rest on him and Fyfe and Fyfe has a very serious injury that may not recover 100%
  2. it's amazing how out of context my post was taken, as i said my overwhelming preference is to keep Jesse, of course, he is vital. But we don't have the final say, he might leave and it might be totally out of our control, the silver lining if there is any is that we will get significant compensation for him if that does eventuate, will it be the same as keeping him? no. but two top 10 picks and a player potentially does help soften the blow a little bit.
  3. Stay or go i am fairly comfortable with where we sit. Obviously overwhelming preference is to keep Jesse, but if he does go imo the opening of negotiations for a trade would be 2 top 10 draft picks and god knows where it would end up, so we'd be well compensated Plus we have Weiderman coming through who is a very good talent.
  4. Pretty much, he's having what i'd consider second year blues and still matching or beating nearly every young key forward in the comp besides Tom Lynch, and he is good enough to be as good or better than him before this year is out if he gets his best footy going
  5. Hogan is going to get and deserve big coin, i believe he's struggled in 5 of 7 games this year and still already has nearly 20 goals. another 2-3 years and he'll be tearing this comp a new one. if it takes 15 mil over 10 years to keep him where do i sign?
  6. Well, that's curtains on his season.
  7. compared to the 100% of games the Dockers have been [censored] in, plus they have to spend hours on a plane just to get belted.
  8. Vince imo is a far better player since joining us than he was at the crows for all but one season, he's aged very well so far.
  9. 1.5 million haha
  10. Bet they're regretting that now!
  11. Lets be honest, if Jesse stays or goes he's going to be getting Tom Boyd level dollars on his next contract unless he has a very serious injury.
  12. Sure, but the MFC would clearly be able to pay him the dollars he's worth as well, and allow him to play at the MCG every other week, and not have to fly every second week.
  13. Fyfe has a serious injury so who knows where he's at, Neale is seriously considering outside offers, Hill is a good player but Sheridan and Taberner are no better than okay and will be exposed when the better players aren't around them. If Lyon doesn't change his plan in a pretty big way they're going to be well off the pace come 2017 If us improving is so big a factor for Jesse's decision, why would he then leave when we do improve and Freo are a huge chance for the wooden spoon?
  14. Will be very interesting to see how he goes re-building a team.
  15. He's been bought in to win a premiership and it's totally backfired on him because he's to arrogant to change his outdated plan.
  16. Agreed, but i think it'd be foolish to think the club hasn't been aware of the type of Salary Hogan would command on this offer, no doubt they've structured things in the right way to retain all our talent at the right price.
  17. especially with guys like Neale potentially looking at other options.
  18. i do, because a player like Hogan could be the difference between multiple flags and going close a couple of times
  19. Re-signing Jesse would be massive, i would argue he's the most important re-signing of any player at any club in the AFL
  20. I agree, and his manager has said publicly the go home factor isn't huge with Jesse, if we delisted him tomorrow he'd want to stay in Melbourne. I am really confident we'll hang onto him long term
  21. I just think with player movement the way it is these days a player like Jesse will get very used to interest from other clubs very quickly. having said that i like where we sit, we can match any financial offer pretty much, we're clearly on the improve and we play at the MFC every other week, which i'm sure a player like Jesse would love. plus i think Freo are in for some fairly lean years so not sure they'll have to many blokes jumping on in a hurry.
  22. I think a lot of these people are just making educated guesses that Jesse is a good player from Perth who plays for Melbourne so that means he'll leave. It's rubbish, I think Jesse will stay he's a very old fashioned loyal guy who knows very well the massive investment and loyalty the MFC has shown him already and i think he's desperate to repay that, and that's why he gets so frustrated on the field at times, because he wants the team to win, just hates losing. if for whatever reason he does leave we will ask for massive compensation and welcome Weiderman into the forward line who is a very impressive young talent.

We don't have any good replacements for him at this point

I wouldn't underestimate how important Dunn's kicking has been to our ability to get through a forward press this year, his ability to kick an 80 meter barrel is something i know for a fact opposition teams have to think about.
  25. Hahaha thanks for reminding me of that! hilarious!
