MATCH PREVIEW AND TEAM SELECTION - Round 16
Ted Lasso replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think around the ground we have a clear edge but the blues have a clear edge in the middle. We have a lot of options though so it'll be an interesting battle. If we break even we win -
Even with injuries I have a lot more confidence in us kicking a winning score than I do with them doing it
-
We play Carlton 55-45 our way even with injuries Adelaide 60-40 their way but we aren't without a chance port where we are a fair chance to get Jones and Salem back 50-50 maybe us a slight edge given their form against good sides north which I think is 70-30 our way with their injuries and Viney possibly back Giants which is tough but we've won the last few against them 60-40 their way Saints which is 50-50 and elimination final like Brisbane who we should beat Collingwood who we should beat. I think we beat carlton, north, pies and lions and that gets us into finals but also a good chance to beat saints and power as well.
-
If we win this weekend and the saints lose we'll be a game ahead of them, and they have a tougher run than us imo and they'd have to win probably 60% of those games to be a chance would put us right in the box seat
-
Disagree. If we win this match, and get our players back on time with no more set backs we can also win the last theee and maybe another in there. Amazing how long a week is in footy.
-
On talent he's worth a lot but he has shown he can be lazy and selfish, I'm not sure. I personally wouldn't chase him
-
This weeks game is huge. We need to win this, and the last three minimum to play finals
-
Would take quite a lot to get him

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - MITCHELL WHITE
Ted Lasso replied to The Red Fox's topic in Melbourne Demons
I wouldn't think so, hunt goes back, Jeffry goes forward and white goes out -
I think lever is a mil a year player under the new agreement. Kid looks like the next great key defender. Lever at one end, with frost and tommy supporting him and hogan, weid and watts up the other end with our midfield is pretty special on paper
-
We were off from the first minute of the game, I'm not sure the short breaks explain how bad we were, taking nothing away from the swans who were fantastic, but we were miles off what I expected of us.
-
Not worth what it's take to get him
-
I don't think he will, I think goody will give someone like James harmes or Alex Neal bullen more midfield opportunity. I think if trenners had a better game the last couple of weeks he'd be a chance

The beauty of jack is once be gets through the risk of re injury point and it's just pain, he plays. He's just so tough
-
Agreed, just passing on what he tweeted. Surely it's gawn or McDonald
-
Apparently it's between gawn and hogan according to Stevo
-
We have basically bought him in to be an on field assistant coach/role player. He was never going to be anything like his best but a little more leadership on field and off field definitely won't hurt us. Our midfield has now been handed over to the next wave
-
Still no word on Tyson?
-
I suspect Lewis will be skipper

Looking ahead ... the Path to September
Ted Lasso replied to Diamond_Jim's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think we need 13 to lock in finals I think we'll beat Carlton even with our outs, the Lions and the pies. So if we can win two from the rest of those games I think we'll get there. The big thing is still being around the mark in 4 weeks time when we get these guys back, if we beat Carlton and can managed to beat one of Adelaide, port or the giants, all three we are a chance in, I think we'll be okay need at least 1 but ideally 2 wins from that lot -
even frost and Hogan would be capable of little midfield bursts we might just need to really proactively rotate positions on the ground and get lots of players through there. We still have some fire power in the middle with gawn, Lewis, Oliver, vince
-
Vince simply has to be mostly a mid this week, as probably does Lewis those two with Oliver, melksham, stretch, harmes, Neal bullen, hannan. Have to share the load around
-
Vince and Lewis will need to play midfield and hopefully with Oliver, melksham, Trengove make up a makeshift midfield that can keep us in the hunt until we get these guys back
-
It's not a good look and it sounds like the club are not happy. Just cop whatever whack they give you, don't argue he apologised to mills as soon as the game ended at least
-
It depends on what's happened, it's usually better to just tear it and get onto rehabbing it. It becomes really nasty if it doesn't completely tear because that's when you can carry it for a long time. I suspect he's been carrying it and last night it finally went.
