It also shows that age is no barrier, with the right plans and a couple of decent leaders being young doesn't mean you can't play good footy.

Score review gone too far ?
I thought that was one of the sillier things i've ever seen, totally disrespectful to the field umpire who clearly called touched.

Freo are in for a long re-build and we're super exciting! especially considering todays team was missing some absolute jets. I know which i'd choose but staying or going Jesse was much better today! i think we should keep him up the ground! our marking around the ground with Gawn, Pederson and Hogan was huge today

Lets also not forget that only a very short time ago Jesse was in the middle of talks about a long term extension, only a few weeks ago he said " anyone playing forward of this midfield would be silly to want to leave " and i tend to believe him when he says that. The big trump card in these situations is often the money, another club has offered that player a crazy amount to convince them, i doubt there is a club in the comp that we couldn't match though so it's all a bit strange. He's invested in the club, he's training hard and for now he's honoring his contract, i'm fairly happy so long as he's doing that, if he leaves we'll get amazing compensation of at least 1 A grade player and a really good pick. and if he stays it'll be long term and we won't have to worry about this for an extended period

I'd suggest not for long if he gets told something and goes running his mouth about it on twitter, that doesn't help anyone, especially Jesse. It's different because Woosha at the time had gone from not wanting to coach at all, to working at the crows and started to get some passion back, Hird right in the firing line, it wasn't a huge stretch Jesse on the other hand, the public message we're getting is nothing but loyalty to the MFC, for him to leave would be a backflip on that, making it a very different situation, his manager said not that long again that Jesse is loyal to the MFC and now his " mate " is saying his next contract will be in Perth.

Josh Jenkins
The word i've been hearing on this is his manager feels his value in the Market based on age, current form and scope for improvement is quite a lot higher then what Adelaide are willing to/ able to offer. I think he's gettable if a club is willing to offer around the same as what Dawes is on, possibly a little more and give up a first round pick. Personally i think he'd be a fantastic pick for us, he's good enough to make an impact and take pressure off Jesse right now, and will continue to develop into the future and as Weiderman develops he could become an extremely dangerous third forward/ ruck. and if Jesse does happen to leave a combination of Jenkins/ Watts/ Weiderman i think would prove more than handy.

Definitely, but i think the free'd up money would go straight towards someone like Michael Hurley and we'd have a couple of good picks or a good player and picks as well, so while it would be disappointing i don't think it'd be as bad as some people are suggesting. I rate Weiderman extremely highly, he might well end up being as good as Hogan, Daniher and co anyway

the club wanted two more first round picks, was really keen on Weiderman a long way before the draft and expects to rise up the ladder quite a bit this year, to me it was a logical decision, the pressure is now on, if we finish bottom 4 we still come out of it okay because imo both Weiderman and oliver look like 200 game players for the club

I suppose the thing that the Perth clubs would have to consider is does WCE have the cap space to fit him in? and how much are they willing to give up in a trade, i'd say a bloke of Jesses talent is worth a couple of first rounders and a player or something crazy like that, especially if both teams are at the pointy end and the first rounders are only picks 15 or 16 or whatever The biggest thing with Freo is they have stuff all good young talent coming through, a bunch of ageing stars and can't afford to give up two consecutive first round picks unless they're willing to fall away hard, which Jesse wouldn't be keen on. and could WCE afford him? and would they be willing to give up say Gaff and a couple of picks, i'd have thought they'd do that deal in a heart beat to pair up Jesse, Kennedy and Darling in the same forward line.

I suppose the big difference would be Jesse is going to be in the top few % of highest paid players in the comp, the CBA could mean a pretty big difference contract wise for an in demand player like that. Sidebottom by all accounts has a crazy good contract at Collingwood so he may well have felt he wouldn't get much better

I really think he is suffering because of three major things. 1. the weight of expectation is getting to him, he had a huge deal on the table from the MFC, and he decided to put talks on hold for now, that carries some risk that if his form drops away sharply the offer may not be the same when he re-opens talks ( for me he's going okay at the moment though ) 2. he is not understanding that just because he is talented beyond belief that it's going to be his hard work that gets him through the moments where it's not going all his way, not his talent, this is something Macca was talking to him about at training last week, " if it's not going all your way, which happens to every player, simplify things, don't worry about goals just set yourself the goal of doing 1 or 2 things really well, like don't be outmarked and get to as many contests as you can" 3. i think we have one to many talls down there and it's crowding the forward line! i personally think Watts is good enough on currant form to be the second big and allow us to play an extra small/medium forward

he was well held after half time but some very important clearances, i personally feel 23 touches, 15 contested and 7 clearances or whatever it was should get him right in the mix for the rising star nod
