  1. In fairness even the most disfunctional organisational would be an improvement on Freo, who lost their coach, CEO and have to train in Cockburn. This aside, I agree with your point.
  2. It's a better outcome that we were poor this year than last/next year as having both blockbusters as home games when were top 4 next year will mean we have the bling bling.
  3. Barrett is just salty because of the time Bernie Vince took his glasses at the urinal while at the Brownlow.
  4. Given that up to last year we have improved every year for the last 5 years and played in a prelim last year it would be pretty dramatic for him to request a trade after one poor season. The club would be under no obligation to facilitate a trade after one horrible season and would be well within its rights to say it wouldn't even entertain the idea of trading him.
  5. I don't have an issue with Trac being frustrated and meeting with the club to understand where it is going and where he fits in and discuss what he wants. Anyone who wants to be successful at whatever they do should be doing this.
  6. I don't buy this. Petracca's actions on the field are not the actions of a disgruntled player. He's vocal, team oriented and has played his role beautifully. I'd be staggered if he requested a trade.
  7. We should apply the Selwood rule with Brayshaw and get as many of them as we can. You can't have too many Brayshaws.
  8. What a fizzer, with our season shot this is all I've had to look forward to for the past 6 weeks.
  9. His nickname could be Sampson
  10. I can see Jones playing another couple of seasons as a half forward on a year by year contract. I think the club is approaching his contract in the right way, where depending on Jones form and how the team is playing he may play 10 or less games or may play 20+ games, so the club isn't paying big $ for him to run around in the VFL. Would love for Jones to play 300 games and win a flag with us in the next 1-2 seasons and while alot has to go right he won't get that at GCS.
  11. If you we're a plan you would be Plan 0
  12. Good effort. Reckon he will go top 5 in the bluey as well.
  13. I reckon the Clarkson footy coach factory is tracking better than the Malthouse one.
  14. It arouses me to read this but didn't Hawthorn recently promote Yze into a strategy role?
  15. I haven't bothered to read what Roos and Wheatley said but my view is that you do an external review when you need to justify changes at the CEO, President and Board level. If the CEO and President cannot run a whole of club review then they shouldn't be in the position. Further, in an external review who owns the actions and outcomes and what if the CEO, president and board don't agree with the issues and recommended actions.
  16. Nieta was a converted full back. Can we get him down at the club to spend time with our forward line?
  17. Adding to this we've also built a reputation of identifying players we want to target early and being good to deal with and focussing on our overall trade period, rather than trying to win every trade. This approach helps in players nominating us because they know we will be fair in deaping eith their existing club and will make the deal happen.
  18. Only if he changes his name to something that is not Kamdyn.
  19. Love Frost, he's an excitement machine who never stops trying and I hope he becomes a 150+ game clubman.
  20. With Pruess developing nicely, his ruck craft is good and he will build his tank and forward craft into next season, and Gawn becoming more versatile up forward/back etc, I'd rather we stick with TMac and Weid as our key forwards and have the flexibility to swing May forward. To bring in Casboult would mean Preuss plays VFL unless there are injuries. We desperately need pace on the wing and small forward/s who can bring pressure at ground level and kick goals. A no for me.
  21. SWYL I agree they need mature players which is why I think picks 1 and 2 provide good currency to trade with. They could potentially turn those two pics into 3-4 A grade players that could provide some leadership. Older sides like Hawthorn, Adelaide, West Coast and Collingwood for example would consider moving on a 24-26 year old or two to get some young talent in and relieve salary cap pressure.
  22. Harmes has played back a fair bit for the past month or so and looks good, he's a really versatile mid. I reckon all of our mids need to be more flexible, e.g. Brayshaw on the wing, Oliver full forward, Harmes anywhere, Viney back and half forward, Salem half back and mid, Trac forward/mid. It's easy to forget that we have a fairly young midfield group and since the bye they are being challenged to play different roles.
  23. Who cares, we made a prelim last year, dramatically underperformed this year, and if we get our act together next year have the foundation to challenge for the next 5+ years. Compare us to GCS, they have lost pretty much all of their best senior players for the past 4 or so years and this year performed as well as could be expected.
  24. What's with the poor me victim. Mentality on here. The GCS need all the help hey can get and picks 1 & 2 will give them some real currency to trade in some senior leadership which they desperately need. I think the AFLmis doing the right thing by providing GCS picks 1 and 2 and if the difference between pick 2 and 3 is going to hurt us then our problems are much bigger than many think they are.
  25. I'm with ugottobekiddong on this one. Supporters whingeing that we are hard done by impacts how our club is viewed within the broader AFL community. Stop being naffs and playing the victim and start looking at what we can do.
