  1. I cannot fathom why McCartney would make such comments unless he really meant them. A key sign of a great environment is the way the people who leave feel when they finish up with the organisation. McCartney doesn't strike me as the sort of bloke to not speak his mind, so I take it he leaves the MFC on really good terms and thinks alot of Goody.
  2. Im tired of this assertion that Goodwin has a biligerant belief in game plan, is inflexible, stubborn, etc., from people who dont know him and do not work in the club.
  3. Interesting point re Darren Burgess. I did some research re his background and in addition to elite level exoerience with Port Adelaide Football Club he was also Fitness Boss for an English Premiership League side named Arsenal. I further researched the EPL and Arsenal and they are a 'football' league, soccer to be precise, and are run quite professionally not unlike the AFL. For those of us who have seen soccer before they suffer some hideous leg injuries and use this magic spray which has the players back up in minutes. I hope the club did its due dillegence and asked Darren Burgess how much magic spray he is able to bring with him. I reckon ot would work a treat with Harley Bennell.
  4. St Kilda is probably a good fit and he'd blend in well with tip rat hairdo and tatts.

I kind of enjoy the added challenge of validating our full list against theother lists that are published. Full List - Injury List - MFC squad - Casey Squad = MPOTW
  6. Have we considered Mark 'Bomber' Thompson? Has multiple flags to his name and is now officially cleared of drug trafficing charges. Well worth a call I reckon and would be a good paxkage get with Hirdy.

It's a no for me too - I still feel filthy from the Tom Gillies trade.
  8. The above would go along way. The other would be to reestablish our hard, ruthless edge that we had last year in the run up to the bye and then from late in the season v Westcoast to the Semi v Hawthorn.
  9. Who cares, the only arrow I'd be concerned about is a Xavier Duusma arrow after he's kicked a goal against us or an Adam Goodes spear. I didn't even realise channel 9 still broadcast.
  10. Thanks, this is a really good analysis. I'm not convinced re hypothesis that Tom MacDonald and Weid are not up tp it as our two key forwards as they performed well against WCE, GWS, Geelong and Hawthorn late last year all of which have excellent key defenders. I think Tom's interrupted preseason and toe issue has had a huge bearing on his form and next year should be a 2 goal per game key forward. Sam similar. Playing guys like Fritch and Melky as the link kick into our fwd 50 will make a huge difference next year.
  11. I wonder if we'll do a preseason camp for 2020?
  12. I suspect the Scott brothers will job share at Geelong.
  13. I reckon it's time for the club to put a call out to Ian and see what it will take to pack up his Malibu lifestyle and move to cosmopolitan Melbourne.
  14. What makes you think McCartney fell out with Melbourne?
  15. Couldn't agree more re most of the points above. Oliver seems to be releasing too quickly, as if to avoid body contact, and impacts our ability to clear the ball. Lewis would have to be in our best 6. I'm also a bit surprised that Petracca doesn't rate a mention. To me he's one who applies pressure, distributes well when played in the midfield and tries to create for us. He would get alot more reward if our forward system was able to keep the ball in and in the second half we were able to get it in the forward line to begin with.
  16. I suspect it's because the club has a good understanding of what has gone wrong and will address the issues during the off season.
  17. Wagner high, this is [censored] [censored] umpiring.

In seriousness, I'm looking forward to tonights game. Kids in bed, wife out for dinner with our eldest and me with a couple of glasses or red to watch what we are trying to do with no expectations.

That would have to happen in the final round when we play North overseas in Tassie.

Absolutely, I considered including an accident like a plane crash or a bus down a ravine as a scenario but that would have been in poor taste.

Kind of like when Essendon fly to a JLT match in regional Victoria. There is a precedent.

What if both sides play so bad that they both lose?

Looked at the ladder today and we're only 4 games + percentage behind Adelaide who are in the 8. If we win our last 4 and everyone from 16 - 8th lose all of their remaining games and we can make up 20% percentage we could still theoretically play finals. Throw in a couple of doping investigations and we will rocket into the 8 and as the doggies demonstrated in 2016 and with May, Tmac, Weid, Jetta, Vanders, J Smith to come back in the remaining rounds anything is possible. Stay positive!
  24. Haha, ok Garlett to kick 4 then.
  25. I reckon we've got this one in the bag. Weid to kick 4 in the last.
