  1. dockers kick another goal, only 30 secs into 2nd qtr 53-7. i think i might crawl into a corner and cry for a while
  2. well if that happens you would think the club would have no choice but to move neeld on
  3. if we beat freo i will rub it in all my friends faces who have been bagging me for barracking for melbourne
  4. how can gillies get a game? seriously, he was shocking in the first couple of games! but then the whole team was
  5. he has well and truely justified being picked up. Been one of if not our best mid over the 1st 7 rnds and can only get better with experience. Lets all hope he keeps up the good form
  6. I don't think it will be this wk, but if things don't improve, more than likely he won't see out the season. We will get creamed again and again over the next 4 wks, but i don't think that will speak as loudly about neeld as getting thumped by GCS today does!!!
  7. Most improved: Definitely Garland. His form this year (excluding WC game) has been outstanding. when the ball has been bombed in long into defence he has been peeling off from his opponent to help his teammates and get the ball out of danger or out of bounds. Lets hope he keeps this up because he is so far this year very realiable backman. Gone Backwards: I know he is only young, but considering where he was at last year and then to compare this year, he has dropped a lot. All he probably needs is a few things on the field to go his way and then his confidence wiil grow, and hopefully we will see the Tommy Mac of last year. Surprise packet: Michael Evans. He has come back from his injuries very well. Played a pivitol role in the last qtr against GWS and has shown the form that he had before injuries hit.
  8. Brilliant! Grimes subbed out in the 1st qtr with a shoulder at least that brings on Kent though
  9. yeah i know. i don't see any reason atm why any big player would want to come to our club unless we hurl a big pricey contract at them. we definitely have talent but not showing anything to entice them across apart from that.
  10. yeah, if we're able to get a good midfielder in this free agency, and add Hogan into the fwd line, look out! it will take a bit more than that of course for us to become a top team but it would put us in a good position to make our move up the ladder
  11. there was also an article that said we are in the top 3 or so for scoring a goal when the ball enters the fwd 50! Pity we don't get it down there enough to make the most of it.
  12. They may relish the opportunity of turning around our steady decline?
  13. 6 points down at half time is good, but 213-148 possesions not so good :/ we need to man up more. If we can do that we may be able to pull it off
  14. Port may well've started well but when you look at the teams they've beaten, they're only beating bottom 4 sides! GC, GWS and melb aren't exactly good teams to base their form on atm, and beating Adelaide atm doesn't sem like that big a deal as they seem in pretty poor form and Port seem to find a way of stepping up against them. They've defintely taken a step up this year, as seen last night, but i don't think they're as good as a lot say they are. We'll all just have to wait and see how they go against a side like Geelong or the Hawks.
  15. Will be good to see how he goes. Pity we missed out on him.
  16. it should be a very formidable fwd line with Clark, dawes and Hogan in there with pedersen and/or sellar occasionally switching in there along with Gawn and Jamar. Davey and Brynes were both very good on the weekend, but we defintely need to address this part of the fwdline as they will both probably be gone in the next 2-3 years. Blease could possibly fill part of this area as he is fast but he could be of more use up the ground to use his speed. Dom Barry could possibly fill a spot as a small fwd as can howe and jetta, but howe isn't exactly a crumber! I do think we have many (the ones mentioned) who can fill this spot adequately, but not to the extent that someone like an eddie betts, milne or garlett can. Stokes is on the unrestricted free agent list this year, but i can't see him leaving geelong for us though? edit: probably also evans, as others has mentioned can cut it in this area as he showed on the wkend
  17. i don't know what it was about him, but i just really liked him as a player.
  18. i've been to all 4 so far. i've stuck in till the end in each of the floggings, as much as it pained me to. Won't be going to many for the rest of the year though as i only have a 5 game country membership, and it will cost too much to go down for many more games.
  19. Too bad it wasn't $cully on the end of that bump! he will surely get a suspension though, probably 1-2 weeks. good to see some real mongrel though.
  20. Max gawn really brought his impressive VFL form across to AFL level. He was outstanding today! His tap work was a long way ahead of jamars, and he was useful around the ground and up fwd. He was taking marks all over and laying tackles. If he can consistently put in performances like todays, as he gets more experience imo he will become one of the best ruckman in the comp, he just needs to stay fit. Loved it when he took the mark at the start and the stadium erupted!
