Where will the revenue come from?
They get a % of turnover. This does not appear to be included in the report. Ad revenue goes mainly to the broadcasters so in the first instance it's their problem. Not sure if the betting agencies sponsor any clubs. It's an insidious relationship that should never have been allowed to grow to that which it is today.

Gawn Main Ruck, Grundy Up Forward?
As you say if we had experienced key fowards this would be a worthwhile idea. Not every week but say one in three.

Five most improved players
A good list but another question is can you see any of these players going into the top 5 during their careers. Perhaps JVR but the rest have a ceiling. Rivers has upside but I'm not sure how much. Watched a half of the Freo game against Essendon and yes......Jacko is very good

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
The amount is closer to $1M per game. I suspect it's around $850k-$900k. From that you deduct our travelling expenses. As I understand it costs of travel by interstate clubs (GWS) are usually paid by the AFL. How this formula applies to any additional costs (If Alice flights and accommodation being more expensive than Melbourne) I do not know. The NT Government pays to have both teams come to play in the Territory but has not said how much it cost. In a 2016 press release then-CLP Chief Minister Adam Giles announced the government would pay $1.6 million each year to play one game in Darwin and one game in Alice Springs, in a deal covering 2011, 2017, for a total cost of $3.2 million. https://ntindependent.com.au/three-afl-games-again-for-the-nt-government-put-no-cost-on-deal/ My feel is that we would be down $500k by playing in Melbourne. I'm not sure the Alice game hurts our win/loss chance unlike the Darwin game which has now gone thankfully. (In other threads I have mentioned our risk of being drawn to play GCS in Darwin. We should demand that this not happen while we play in Alice.) Finally the fixture as to date and time needs to be fixed 10 months in advance. PS: the other deal we could pursue is an annual game in Mildura or Wangaratta funded by the Vic Govt like Footscray have done with Ballarat

don't think we'll see a 186 margin in the near future unfortunately 17 injured players......almost half the list https://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/matches/injury-list

Are we banged up again?
I think that our obsession with system at both VFL and AFL level has impacted a number of young players. Rarely if ever do you see any of the youngsters playing the occasional "blinder" of a game

Ladder wise a good result for us given last night's debacle Unfortunately a Freo win tomorrow is now best not to mention Pies over Adelaide Yeah... life ain't great

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
Contrary to the long term averages showing very little chance of rain it seems that Alice will be getting an unseasonal downpour and cold snap this week. Friday is a Maximum of 12 and 25mm of rain Will be interesting to see the weekend forecast http://www.bom.gov.au/nt/forecasts/alice-springs.shtml

PREGAME: Rd 16 vs GWS
The average rainfall in the Alice for July is 13mm occurring on 1.3 days. Don't think rain will be an issue. The average high is 20 degrees so 27 would be a surprise. The ground is big and should suit BBB. If he plays a reasonable VFL game at Geelong tonight I'd have him in place of Smith. Harmes on Greene might be an idea. At least make Harmes the sub to keep the option alive. PS I share the concern of others re Oliver. I expect he has lost a fair bit of match conditioning that could take a few weeks to rebuild

POSTGAME: Rd 15 vs Geelong
A ray of sunshine I expect at least one of the big 4/5 will be making the trip down the highway next year. It's all about stadium economics. With a capacity of 40k seated next year the return to Geelong will be the equivalent of almost 80k at the MCG. Bigger teams down there will also increase the amount they can charge for premium seats, super boxes etc. Going forward Geelong will be in clover money wise. Think Adelaide. It won't work if they can't fill the stadium and playing GWS etc down there is bad economics if you don't get the premium revenues that come from the big teams
