  1. Sunday's weather is out Good news.. the rain is predicted to stop on Saturday night 12 degrees maximum with medium winds and a little sunshine http://www.bom.gov.au/nt/forecasts/alice-springs.shtml What's the drainage like at the oval I wonder... Red earth makes great mud
  2. the trains from the G will be rocking
  3. nothing like a Pies comeback win
  4. It's Geelong They put the list in for whom they want to play at the MCG And guess what............ we're not on the list
  5. a quiet discussion perhaps re Jacko
  6. don't think we'll see a 186 margin in the near future unfortunately 17 injured players......almost half the list https://www.westcoasteagles.com.au/matches/injury-list
  7. I think that our obsession with system at both VFL and AFL level has impacted a number of young players. Rarely if ever do you see any of the youngsters playing the occasional "blinder" of a game
  8. Ladder wise a good result for us given last night's debacle Unfortunately a Freo win tomorrow is now best not to mention Pies over Adelaide Yeah... life ain't great
  9. Contrary to the long term averages showing very little chance of rain it seems that Alice will be getting an unseasonal downpour and cold snap this week. Friday is a Maximum of 12 and 25mm of rain Will be interesting to see the weekend forecast http://www.bom.gov.au/nt/forecasts/alice-springs.shtml
  10. The average rainfall in the Alice for July is 13mm occurring on 1.3 days. Don't think rain will be an issue. The average high is 20 degrees so 27 would be a surprise. The ground is big and should suit BBB. If he plays a reasonable VFL game at Geelong tonight I'd have him in place of Smith. Harmes on Greene might be an idea. At least make Harmes the sub to keep the option alive. PS I share the concern of others re Oliver. I expect he has lost a fair bit of match conditioning that could take a few weeks to rebuild
  11. A ray of sunshine I expect at least one of the big 4/5 will be making the trip down the highway next year. It's all about stadium economics. With a capacity of 40k seated next year the return to Geelong will be the equivalent of almost 80k at the MCG. Bigger teams down there will also increase the amount they can charge for premium seats, super boxes etc. Going forward Geelong will be in clover money wise. Think Adelaide. It won't work if they can't fill the stadium and playing GWS etc down there is bad economics if you don't get the premium revenues that come from the big teams
  12. Back into the pack... looking over our shoulder for teams trying to take our top 4 spot. The game in Alice against the Suns is crucial Cost us any remote chance of top 2 that we still had
  13. Cometh the Hour... Cometh the Loss Sometimes you wonder of it's our motto
  14. come on dees what is about Taxpayer Park we never seem to get it right.... Is this the night !!
  15. this will kill us if we keep it up.............not just in this game. Kick Straight and Prosper
  16. time for a bit of class from our key players in the third quarter. Need to break this game open
  17. back to the movie....... this will be a long night
  18. This is a big game. Win and we are a game clear of the pack and well on our way to top 4. Lose and we are back with the pack looking over our shoulder each week. Form says we should win but we cannot afford to repeat our inaccuracy of the English King's Birthday. Dees by 22 !!
  19. Kick straight and Prosper
  20. Perhaps a Druid ceremony is in order
  21. He knew that last year and offered himself around... no takers Much the same as Tom Mac in 2020. It's a tough game... just ask Luke Dunstan and to a lesser extentJosh Schache
  22. I suppose it was the old three into two doesn't go. Once you assume Petty fit one of Smith or Tomlinson had to go. If this works it may be a master stroke as both Petty and Smith can play forward and back thus allowing flexibility in weeks to come. Mind you I'm not convinced that Smith is a forward but it's all part of the ride
  23. you do wonder why it's being played at night. I suppose it is to make it easier for the non AFL listed players who have jobs. Wonder what they prefer Friday night or noon Saturday.
  24. Langdon only had badly bruised ribs as I recall. A week out and it took him a long time to regain full form. Years ago I had bruised ribs..... painful is an understatement.
  25. Interesting their criticism of Cameron. He's a very good player
