  1. Many thanks for the discussion and your efforts Don't have a card.. just wanted to download my membership once a year and not have to do it again
  2. Hi Can I download my membership to my phone, save it and then use it for walk up entry as I would use a digital card. Thanks
  3. Must say I don't understand the need for all the byes unless it is driven by the need to reduce travelling by interstate teams and thus keeping costs down. With the ten Melbourne based AFL teams and the non aligned Melbourne teams (around 6 if I recall) there are ample teams for a twenty round season with no byes between the Melbourne teams alone.
  4. Would be interesting to see figures on away fans and neutrals over the years. Membership costs with all the hard sell add ons naturally leads to supporters making use of the membership and questioning the cost of an away game. As an AFL member I used to frequently attend neutral games but covid and the ticketing process put an end to that. I see yesterday that they were offering GA tickets for $18 as a flash sale for our game.
  5. The AFL finally have their opening round blockbuster between Carlton and Richmond. Can someone tell me when they became a thing for the opening round. Of course most games have been a snorefest but even I will watch this one until half time
  6. Does it matter.. the winner will be showing premiership form The loser..a strong showing but coach X needs to address............
  7. Time to adopt the self interest tipping system Wins by the Saints, Port and Suns would be nice Cats over Pies to avoid a week of Pie worship in the media
  8. Makes you wonder why JVR was not played at senior level in the practice games given the Fritsch concerns. (one quarter I think he got against the Saints) Same could be said of Schache
  9. Mitch H is not loved by a few Bulldogs fans Is he their ANB?
  10. No ones home game and each team gets 900k IIRC. Don't worry about not getting a ticket as you probably wouldn't have found affordable accommodation Gather round and I'll tell you a story about a man named Gil A poor mountaineer but he kept the clubs fed Then one day while shooting at a bear up from the ground came a a guzzling ooze Gambling Money, The New Gold, Sporting Tea
  11. Just to clarify.. El Diablo was answering my post on whether Clarrie was possibly among the top 5 of all time Demon players. I said as follows "If Oliver can add say 10 more goals a season to his performance and get his handball to kick ratio around 50/50 I think he goes close to one of the best of all time. Remember his opposition is now at a much higher level than those who we normally think of as the best. His handballs to advantage are sublime. Would like to hear what people think of his kicking to advantage"
  12. It's the algorithm !! The selling of tickets bay by bay may be good for ground management but it results in low choice for the attendees. MFC have maybe 4 games a year with crowds over 60k. Good seats should be the least of our worries

  14. Those young Lions were definitely wayward
  15. Coburg have a catchy theme song
  16. If the money goes to the players and is distributed to individual players at the club's discretion I sense a salary cap rort in the making
  17. Coburg have not been stellar in recent times Hopefully it's not a massacre
  18. No points for a VFL win (says something about that comp). Nothing for second... not sure it's a good thing. Wonder if player bonuses paid for winning are outside the salary cap
  19. Excellent article Weideman got off lightly and no discussion of Meldrum *. It also failed to discuss our pocket tendency * apologies... Melksham
  20. Dogs game is a must win. We need to win 2 out of our first three. If we go 0-3 makes the season that much harder
  21. Still a lot of belief in Collingwood. I'm yet to be convinced that they can repeat their gameplan of 2022 this year (2023). Richmond... can't see it
  22. I worked out the reggae connection (movie... Marley and Me) but alas go no further. At least it's further than I've got on any other of these quizzes Thanks to the quiz master !!
  23. Being an MFC supporter I consider myself highly intelligent but our quizmaster is in another class
  24. I like the direct play idea but what will it mean for our defence. The strategy was to lock the ball in the forward line thus encouraging the opposition defender to dump kick to our defensive gatekeeper. I likened it to a python slowly crushing its prey As a great man said... For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. 2023 could be fun !
  25. There's a new diversion in the out of contract young stars saga... The Swans always play their cards close to their chest when it comes to AFL trades, and insiders rarely agree to speak publicly about contracts and offers. But well-placed sources suggest Sydney are willing to offer De Koning a monster, eight-year contract to lure him north. We contacted the Swans with questions about their interest in De Koning; they did not respond by the time of publication. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/could-young-blue-become-a-swans-king-20230307-p5cq39.html
