NON-MFC: Rd 17 2023
Dogs arguably have the best traditional style forward line in the comp these days. Pity about their defence The one worry I have re Collingwood tonight is how their running centre corridor and angled game will translate to the smaller Docklands ground

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Sandringham
Pre pandemic away members got in for half price $5... not sure how it works these days I can recall Goody borrowing a membership card so he could get in for $5 at Coburg one day. Looking forward to a catering and ground report from Sandringham. Hopefully a big win on Saturday night will see a lot of happy AFL players among the spectators

Training Ground?
I see funding as an issue together with any attempt to limit public access. Timing wise.. a training ground by 2030.. is probably optimistic TBH like many I'm losing interest

NON-MFC: Rd 17 2023
A 16 point weekend for us (2x 8 point games) A Demon loss and a Dogs win is unthinkable (MFCSS)

CASEY: Rd 16 vs Sandringham
Brings back memories of the tensions when Juice Newton played with Saunders (?). Sandy didn't do us many favours but IIRC we won a premiership with them in about 1996

The Run Home
We have four clubs equal or within a game of us. At present we have a percentage gap on these clubs but one 30 plus point defeat seriously erodes that percentage. I think we will make it but what should have been a pleasurable run home for supporters will be the usual stress ball that seems to go hand in hand with being an MFC supporter

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
I agree but can we afford a $700k insurance policy. The fact is that Gawn goes when he wants to as the club owes him so much otherwise ............ thanks for the face palm Drysdale Demon but why do you think the Grundy/Gawn combo will be any better next year? The football world wondered how the combo would work as did many on this site. Other commentators said we had too much of our salary cap invested in the ruck dept. These are the kind of discussions we need to have.

PREGAME: Rd 17 vs St. Kilda
Needs another thread but you have to ask if we should trade Grundy in the off season. Given the Collingwood supplement we could probably break even on trade value. This would allow us to buy in a cheap back up ruck and put the Grundy savings into another recruit.(perhaps a KPF) We just have too much invested in our ruck combo given their return. No real signs of it turning around.
