  1. Great points... Do you think this is why in the first round we saw Oliver launching attacks more from half back. As another poster pointed out the Pies had around 13 goal kickers last weekend. I think we would be pushing to find more than 7 in any one game in recent times
  2. Agree but why not go say 4 days early and train under lights. Instead we flew up day before and had a light daytime run. If players could not make it for personal reasons take the rest of the team. Was always amazed we used to do a drop in at Darwin but at least then we weren't playing a Darwin based team. I expect the football budget is so tight with its cap that we can't do it but I'm sure if it was Collingwood or Geelong they would find a way
  3. What a difference a week makes Last week 1 player not available This week.. 5
  4. Salem... 6-8 weeks !!! Hell
  5. GWS starting to go into a downward spiral. 12-16 is probably the best they can hope for. You wonder if the AFL will give them assistance in the draft etc. I assume they have access to NSW players on the same basis as the Swans
  6. Probably not but perhaps the real question is whether anyone will care if they do. GWS was the science experiment with their excellent drafting but even they couldn't crack the relevancy factor
  7. You have to wonder why he stays. Sydney would love him for example
  8. Nice stat but with the AFL introducing their 50/50 rounds to increase TV viewing in the early season you will see more of these types of stats
  9. Weid a late withdrawal due to a toe injury. He deserves a better run injury wise
  10. They were often as an unopposed sweeper in the backline. His disposal was good but rarely was he pressured. Good game but I'm not sure what it means for AFL selection
  11. The site is primarily web based with an app that has not been updated in years. It broadcasts one sport in 720p at a price other streaming services charge for 4k with lots more content. Compared to other single sport streaming services the similar NFL app is less than a third the cost and the formula 1 app is even cheaper To say it's free with you overseas membership is a misnomer as the club will be paying the provider for your subscription. In short it's over priced and ten years behind the times. It has a monopoly in a very small pool so it seems we can expect little more
  12. Putting to one side the issue with its inability to access current events those match reports are quite good. I assume it has digitally trusted data sources which themselves take time to put up their data. Wonder how long it takes to synchronise.. days, weeks....?
  13. Based on VFL form... JVR for McDonald Jordon at the very least replaces Melksham as the sub Schache took a knock and did not return for the last quarter
  14. Maybe... T Mac but I expect not JVR having a good last quarter... not doing his chances any harm
  15. Casey disposal leaving a little to be desired
  16. Would have preferred to see if Schache could have slotted it without the 50 penalty
  17. Sub instead of Melksham perhaps
  18. Not much from JVR.. a glimpse from Schache but no more. Joel Smith did a little Conditions look perfect.. looking forward to the remaining three quarters
  19. 21-6 inside 50's
  20. well... not quite the first quarter we were hoping for
  21. Sounds like he's out to me.
  22. There's an 8:35 pm flight to Melbourne. I suspect it will have a few players on board unless they want to get up for 7am flight tomorrow
  23. Brisbane has changed a little from when its version of a big day out was heading into the Valley for lunch at the TC Beirne's Department store
  24. Wow... (Is there any team you like SWYL) The relocation of the Swans and the Lions is probably the best thing the AFL ever did. Agree it was tough on their Melbourne followers Everyone knows we probably still have two clubs too many in Melbourne but that fight is now dead
  25. Not delusional by any means but I wonder how many players you can have in this category and still maintain list balance. Tuck was in the days of lists of fifty plus players. Geelong is interesting. Dangerfield played 15 home and away games out of 22 last year. Assuming he was fit to play in all is that enough input. Extrapolate that to 3 players treated similarly and you have 21 games to be covered from your remaining list. Will we see veteran allowances for list sizes in future years to keep them in the game
