  1. who is the Brown out listed as injured Not BBB I hope
  2. Must say the live ladder is doing my head in with games played by the various teams. Not looking forward to the world of 19 teams.
  3. Like our game and Port's game (quick corridor) both are easily countered in theory. Similarly each style is easily imitated in theory. Where the difficulty arises is does the opponent have the skills to do it once, every now and then or often. Collingwood clearly has our measure on the basis of our traditional game plan. Sure we can beat them but 8 out of 10 times they will win. Port.. I'm not so sure. I think it's closer to 50/50 simply because corridor play as against the Pies angular delivery mode is just that much harder to maintain. Countering the Collingwood and Port styles requires close checking. With 4 umpires it's become more difficult to do this. Sure you can outnumber the opposition at the ball but we all know that such a tactic is a recipe for a loss
  4. Himmelberg, according to at least two clubs contacted by The Scoop, could command as much as $900,000 per season, if he were to leave the Giants. A long-term deal at that price would trigger first-round compensation, meaning GWS could have three first-round picks in the upcoming draft. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/magpies-show-giant-interest-and-what-will-richmond-do-with-a-prized-asset-20230607-p5depm.html
  5. lose on Monday and both Pies and Port are 3 games clear. That's a big break
  6. If you stop striving you go backwards....... Sounds like bath water to me
  7. Port play a smart corridor game They're going places
  8. the AFL has killed the neutral fan that would have delivered 5-10k to this game Anyway who cares it's a TV game these days........ reap what you sew
  9. Age reporting that Pies are interested in Himmelberg at around $900k per year
  10. yes On another note we seem to have had few games at any of the inner city traditional grounds. A trip to Casey is okay but a day out at Port, Coburg, Preston etc is good as well
  11. A logical move I'm also in favour of players practising shots on goals with earpods on pumping out crowd noise etc. Train as you play
  12. Nope... welcome to the worst streaming system in Sports. PS Have someone check the price for you back in Australia. The site uses a geolocator and prices by reference to areas. US price is high in $US (probably haven't updated the exchange rates for years..just like the platform.)
  13. A Swans win tonight puts them firmly back in the running for the final 8. Dogs V Port is a big game for us. A Port win if combined with a Collingwood win on Monday sees those two teams 3 games clear and almost certain top 4. A loss by both leaves the race wide open. Freo v Richmond is interesting. Go Tigers Blues v Bombers (draw please)
  14. Carlton v Essendon is sold out...amazing
  15. The VFL team exists only to develop AFL players so of course they will be preferred. Who are the better players is another question. Dunstan aside and now it seems Harmes as well the AFL side at Casey are weak in the midfield. Thus White is an automatic selection. Same for Munro, Buntine, Grey etc
  16. you are kidding me. Head to head we have probably won 3 out of the last 20 encounters and for a good portion of that time we were much higher on the ladder than the Pies. 2017 anyone ?
  17. You'd be surprised how corporate boxes are used these days. It's no longer only the Collins Street brigade. Many companies use them to reward their employees at all levels for "doing a good job."
  18. You would think you could go for a 3 for 1 rule. They'll kick 3 but we will kick 1. On that basis a 30 point lead means they need to kick 8 goals to win. These days however consecutive goals by one side seems to be the norm
  19. Ah.. the margin of confidence... Mine is 34 points After last year I fear the 26 point margin
  20. This weekend offers some real moving potential with our game and Bulldogs v Port plus three 60/40 games which could see the top 8 shaken up. Might wait until the bye rounds are concluded before I take a view on the remainder of the season
  21. Do you play with only 17 on the field or one less on the bench. Most sports have the former
  22. A Richmond win over the Giants does us no harm PS: May have gone early
  23. Watched the replay of the Scottish FA Cup this morning between Celtic and Inverness. For the first half they had sound mix problems. Nice loud crowd noise but barely audible commentary. It was brilliant. Unfortunately they fixed it for the second half. Marvellous way to watch sport on TV
  24. Not a great percentage booster for Port. Same amount as if they'd won 60-40
