  1. You can win but your percentage goes down as it did last week. It's not just margins but relative scores. Numerator/denominator.... both move A 25 point win of say 100 to 75 sees our percentage remain relatively unchanged. Agree that it's largely academic but in the context of resting players four games out of season's end it's a factor
  2. If we win this weekend by a decent margin.. say 24 points.. thus protecting our percentage I can see room for rotations. Howe being injured has removed one player from the rotation stakes but I imagine that Laurie and Dunstan would be in the mix. At VFL level there are not exactly a surplus of KPP's available for a rotation
  3. Too early Chandler for example.. needs to have a good run of form Will Fritsch be fit? Melksham could have say 3 games of 3 goals or more... is he dropped Smith?? Jordon? both possibles depending on form JVR.... needs to show a little more in the next 5 games
  4. Agree At least he signed the standard 2 year extension like everyone except that guy now playing for Freo Looking forward to seeing him debut post bye 2024
  5. A key player for the near future Good luck Matt
  6. No more small forwards For that matter.... no more small players please
  7. None of those teams play the exclusive corridor game so I expect our gameplan to dominate. Hawthorn should be another good test of our ability to counter the corridor style. North in Tasmania... I have no idea
  8. Out of interest how has Reid fared in his games for Carlton reserves ? Duursma had a few very good moments for Casey without starring against a lowly Coburg.
  9. Could be correct OD Maybe consider resting Max over one of the next two matches and rucking Grundy. As I recall the Tiger's main ruck is out The bus is certainly not firing on all cylinders and there's not many matches left to tune up all the parts
  10. 2/3 weeks away unfortunately plus a game or two to reach top form
  11. Need Petracca back in the midfield.
  12. That's the Collingwood system adopted by most clubs these days.... the half back line is the absolute key to defending against it. You also need to be ready to rebound through the corridor and not via the wing which is our go to play
  13. It's kid's round Let them enjoy and remember
  14. Agree but letting them kick 7:2 in that last quarter was abysmal
  15. As they used to say in the school report card.... Could do Better
  16. Some will say this was a gutsy win but.............
  17. Can we ever breakaway !!!
  18. needless to say .. now is the time for one or two more PS.... too soon
  19. the positive is that we seem to be a little more accurate in front of goal. Game is still a painful watch though PS Thanks Kozzie... let's go !!!!
  20. So like us.. get the break and then ?????? Do we have a killer gear anymore
  21. remind me when we have played like that since Our gameplan is boundary based and into the pocket GF was centre clearance straight up the middle for maybe 45 minutes
  22. it's that kind of game and let's face it our gameplan isn't naturally exciting
  23. Very big game today for two reasons 1. Ladder position 2. Improvement in forward line (especially BBB, Chandler and Melksham. The last named is very important as we go through the next 5 odd weeks without Fritsch) I would also like to see a solid four quarters from JVR Adelaide will come hard at our defence through the corridor. Like many teams they play mainly a less skilled version of the Pies/Port gameplan. Our half back line is the key
  24. I'm getting excited Rarely do re MFC Seriously... our drafting has been ok but not stellar in recent years Hopefully a guy like this can give us a corridor option from time to time
  25. post bye next year if he continues steadily is my guess We do need another back up forward. Doubt it but Shache might just be it. I hope the MC is into his ear Miracles can happen
