But think of the 1.4 billion market in China that Port's games in Shanghai made available to us

Craddle Crash Repairs would be happy with their signage purchase

Bring it home Dan !!!!

he's talking up the product....not the venue
-
Any State can have it if you put up the most money... If they want they can buy it for two years or more..it's money Qld and NSW have good tourism bases compared to SA who is desperate to buy an event Hell even Dan can buy it for Melbourne if he wants

when we were so poor I enjoyed following Hafey's magpies. They were an exciting team. Have always had a second team when we're travelling badly. Liked West Coast in their "Cousin's prime" and GWS were always good to follow until Jeremy Cameron left. And of course North back in the days of Blight and the Krakouer brothers Hate is such an emotional word It's just a game.... Ted Lasso anyone?

It's changed... no ticket required..just walk in. They don't have a scoreboard so they wheel in an old fashioned yellow light board.. so small that as a visitor you have to ask where it is. Have seen some videos of the outdoor oval at the Hangar. Looks fine but nowhere near the memories of Windy Hill

the find of the season... he provides Salemesque drive from half back -
with another hour between games it's done easily The other way is that you only use a section of the ground for game 1.. clear it and allow game 2 patrons in. Other sections pay a slight premium for the two games So many ways... the reality is that only the local teams are drawing and they knew it. Olympic athletics have day and night sessions in bigger stadiums with relatively short breaks for example

very tall team for a potentially wet windy afternoon

Given that it's no teams home game I assume Port and Crows members need to buy a ticket plus a reserved seat. A nice little earner that I had forgotten...70,000 fans at an average of $25 = $2M
-
50,000 visitors is not that great . Given a State govt buy of say $20M it works out at $400 per visitor. Concept is good but the execution could be better

excellent news...

Here's a good article on the financial impact of this weekend https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/afl-clubs-set-for-bumper-salary-cap-boost-from-gather-round-20230412-p5czzz.html All 18 AFL clubs have been given an extra half-million dollars in their salary caps as a result of the huge influx of money stemming from the extra game in Gather Round. Senior AFL sources confirmed that the 18 clubs would receive $750,000 each for Gather Round in South Australia and that, of that amount, $500,000 would go to the players at every club - potentially easing some of the fiscal and salary-cap pressure on players and clubs.

yes... it matters big time as this is what the SA Govt has spent millions to achieve... tourists aka supporters of non Adelaide clubs

excellent stat table and is probably the best measure of accuracy. I wonder what it would show for 2022

Here's an excellent youtube video explaining why we don't see many live sports broadcasts in 4k. The presenter suggests that that the answer in the medium term is supplier enhanced 1080P HDR. Also there is the issue of frame rates. As I understand kayo runs at 50fps whereas 60fps is the desired standard Many of the comments make excellent reading as well. It appears that EPL is done in 4k but I suspect that they are using far fewer cameras. Formula 1 coverage is interesting as well

could see a few changes Lever... rested Petty back Someone for Hibberd Melksham forward if wet or as sub with Jordon in the starting line up Cannot see a role for all 3 of JVR, TMac and BBB. One has to miss A pity Laurie has not been trialed down back as well as up forward. A swinging flanker could be a very useful back up. Same for Jordon... could he replace Hibberd occasionally?

so... not at windy hill

Swans did that to us on a couple of occasions resulting in goals. It worked because our zone defence ignored the player on the boundary because in that position he was unlikely to score. The player ran laterally quickly to receive. Obvious set play. If you put Kozzie on the boundary he would be marked so I doubt it would work

Kennett explained their funding model a few years back. It was split between Federal Govt, State Government, Wealthy supporters and club funds. No real borrowings but I expect that the poker machine licences could be used as collateral if necessary. They might have a problem with the explosion in building costs though
