Not necessarily. Many clubs see ruckmen as a necessary evil. Sure you take an injury risk but it's all about balance and rotations. Realistically it's an admission that neither ruckman has a role forward and with 2 "fresh" ruckmen they will attempt to play Max closely and nullify him.

One concern is that Casey as a team have probably peaked and we will see turnover both of older AFL and VFL players next season. If this occurs how do you assess a forward when the ball is not getting down there. Perhaps some time down back?
