  1. ooh could we win ? (It would be a moral victory of course)
  2. On that game one would need to agree. Fastball is not just up the middle which is what we try to play. It can also be about fast 45 degree angle play. Will be interested to see how we set up against Carlton.
  3. Has JVR slotted a shot yet?
  4. OMG Mc Vee to someone who fluffs it and yet another turnover Schoolboy stuff
  5. Terrible forward play by Laurie
  6. Lever left standing and Tiger goal
  7. Lost count of the turnovers in that Tiger goal.
  8. The old bomb to the crowded pocket is re-emerging
  9. Tomlinson misses a mark and Tigers run into an almost empty forward 50 for a goal
  10. A bit of a pattern. I suppose you could blame it on our attempt to play fast football. Fastball is not our traditional strength
  11. Oh our elite defence
  12. 8-0 It's only practice
  13. Kick outs to 2 on 1, fumbles, turnovers This game has it all
  14. Max's goal kicking hasn't improved
  15. Early days but we could be the new dinosaurs
  16. Tuned in 10 minutes ago and it's been all Richmond and bombs into our crowded forward line. Back line being cut apart on rebound
  17. Article in the Age says he will play the last three quarters Clayton Oliver will play in Melbourne’s match simulation against Richmond on Sunday – but not with the senior side – as he races the clock to be ready for the start of the home-and-away season. Oliver will not be part of an under-strength Demons team, also missing a host of stars including Christian Salem, Harrison Petty and recruit Shane McAdam, for the first four of the seven periods set aside for the AFL team and will instead take the field with the reserves for the final three stanzas at Casey Fields. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/he-has-the-potential-to-be-the-game-s-best-why-josh-weddle-has-the-afl-world-on-notice-20240216-p5f5jo.html
  18. Agree... Going forward I don't see Tomlinson as best 22 Also need a Hibberd replacement. Asking a lot of Bowey to take that role
  19. Thanks Andy Those reports are scary. Sure they are way too flowery in their prose but ten years from now.....
  20. You have to admit.. the picture is burned into your mind. Especially the guys in stripes !!
  21. A welcome and well worded email from the club today which allowed me to easily order a plastic membership card (my preference). Completed the order and they thanked me but then it defaulted back to the start as if I'd done nothing. Repeated the order and same again. Who knows if it worked. Ah.. First world problems I'll probably be in Dhaka or Kolkata for the first round so priority delivery is not exactly a must for me Have not downloaded the MFC App as yet but it's an interesting add on to the communication suite Edit... my error.. as an AFL member with MFC support I was ineligible for a card as the message said. Prompted me to go to the AFL site and I was able to order one
  22. Not as stupid as it sounds. The mistake was to introduce it first at the elite level with absolutely weird promotion. Rugby 7's and touch football (NRL) are good examples of game adaptations. Futsal and indoor cricket are other instances. Build from a community/school base is the way to start IMO
  23. Diamond_Jim replied to Romey's post in a topic in Melbourne Demons
Definitely worth looking at. Even if Caulfield comes off it's at least 5 years until we move in
  24. They're encouraging the use of ear plugs to avoid hearing damage. Perhaps an opening for our "closed" shop ? Diehard NSW Swiftie Rebecca Plumridge recently purchased a pair of Loop earplugs after seeing trending recommendations on TikTok from American fans. “Everyone online was saying how loud the crowds and music were during the United States leg of The Eras Tour and that earplugs were an absolute must,” the Thornton-based fan said. The 29-year-old already has existing hearing damage from previous Taylor Swift and One Direction stadium tours. “I sometimes get really loud buzzing noises in my ears and I often have to ask people to repeat their questions,” she said. “This will be my third Taylor concert, so I really wanted to protect my ears.” Plumridge is not alone. Earplug-related posts and videos have saturated social media platforms over the past six months, with music fans, festival attendees and influencers sharing their reviews and recommendations for different hearing protection brands. https://www.theage.com.au/culture/music/the-essential-accessory-swifties-are-raving-about-and-it-s-not-a-friendship-bracelet-20240209-p5f3r1.html
  25. The whole of the 2021 season is worth watching if you have the time. From a very scratchy win over Fremantle you can see the team build week by week. Then the finals.. still not perfect before delivering 45 minutes of football that words cannot describe Thanks Dees
