  1. The delivery wasn't great but my biggest concern was that he rarely got separation on his opponent. Needs to work on his leading patterns
  2. Umpire bouncing skills much better today
  3. McAdam showing he would have benefited from a few more weeks at Casey. Good game from him today without ripping it open
  4. Still no real forward system Jefferson unable to get separation on his opponent
  5. A few cameos from McAdam but not much to get excited by system wise. Better connection than the last few weeks. Looking for more from Woey and AMW in the run and carry area. Perhaps too quick to give off the handpass. Final entry inside 50 is mainly high kicks to the pack
  6. After a nice few weeks at the start of the season he has plateaued at a mere reasonable level. Needs a spark Edit Right on cue.. strong mark and goal
  7. Terrible handball by Tholstrup when Casey were on the rebound
  8. Forward positioning not great Good kicking from McAdam
  9. Woewodin and Tomlinson playing. Is AMW playing? Edit Yes AMW is playing
  10. Wow.. on that quick screen shot of the team a few are missing
  11. If McAdams plays at Casey that will be one very crowded forward line
  12. Would have been good if this game was at Vic Park. Easy access and on a nice day with byo chair very pleasant. Not sure what the change room facilities are like but I assume they're ok as a number of Collingwood teams play matches there. A few years back I went to Casey for the game against the Pies. It was a bonanza day for the egg and bacon roll sellers. I suspect like that day we will be well and truly outnumbered in the support area. Keeping an eye on Tholstrup and Billings today. If we can get the latter to fire it may be the fillip our season needs.
  13. Three games decided by around one kick. Two of them by very questionable umpire decisions. As an aside.. the score review... we can clearly see player X touched the ball...when no one can. Why not say no clear evidence to over rule goal umpires call
  14. Nah I won't ask
  15. Not sure that bump was deserving of a downfield free. Nice view of the grazing cows in the stadium surrounds. Freisians I think
  16. They'll miss the annual cheque
  17. Here's the thread... makes for interesting reading
  18. Could probably have had him a couple of years back when his contract was renewed. At that time he was not setting GWS alight.
  19. Not quite but.... https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/enough-is-enough-simon-goodwin-on-personal-attacks-and-the-demons-culture-20240605-p5jjl8.html “I’m not going to disappear down a hole because I love this job too much and I love this life too much. But that doesn’t mean it hasn’t been easy. There have been times when it has been terrible. It [Goodwin’s brand] has taken a hammering.
  20. Yep Hard to get excited but there's some big games this weekend Losses by any of the Pies, Cats or Lions makes finals that bit harder for each Are the Bombers the real thing after last week's loss
  21. Gets a number of possessions but rarely hurts with his disposal IMO. Certainly one of the better VFL players but the Casey bar is not high these days
  22. This is the reality Didn't think the end would come so quickly but alas we have grounded on Goodwin Sands
  23. Agree... As I mentioned in this thread... following his one game at AFL level he seems to have plateaued at a VFL level I would best describe as competent but unexciting
  24. I believe that was an AFL requirement if you were an AFL funded club such as GWS and GCS. I don't think we fell into that category. Of course we could have put in a break clause but who knows https://www.sen.com.au/news/2021/01/21/outgoing-aflca-ceo-lashes-disgraceful-clause-that-bails-out-moron-boards/ Outgoing AFL Coaches Association CEO Mark Brayshaw has slammed an AFL clause that allows clubs to sack coaches and only pay out six months of their contract. The AFL made the move in 2019 for AFL-funded clubs and it kicks in regardless of the length of the coach’s contract. Brayshaw called it a “disgraceful clause” that bails out “moron boards”. “I’ll tell you how (the clause) gets through, the AFL says ‘we’re sick of stupid boards, moron boards, sacking their coaches and paying them out’,” Brayshaw told SEN SA Breakfast. “I used to be on the board at North Melbourne for eight years and have no sympathy whatsoever for any board that extends a contract with its coach and then changes its mind and expects to give them a six-month contract. “The good clubs don’t do that. The big clubs that don’t need the AFL’s money quite as much don’t allow that to happen and I think it’s shameful and I’ll tell you why. Footy clubs, the good ones, have got trust. They’re built on trust.
  25. We'd have a three year payout I believe. It would cripple our soft cap spending. TBH I think Goodwin has the right or at least a better gameplan but he's two years late at implementing it at the Casey level and one year late at the AFL level
