  1. On a loosely related topic if you've ever wondered how many people overseas watch AFL the NRL broke all records with their recent game in Las Vegas..... Wait for it........ Yes the TV viewing audience in the States was 61k Why do we bother NRL chief executive Andrew Abdo said the numbers set a new audience record for NRL games in the US, and were similar to some Major League Soccer games on Fox Sports 1. โ€œThese are positive signs in the first year of the long term venture,โ€ he said. โ€œWe are proud of what we achieved this year in Las Vegas and have been blown away by how positively Americans have responded to rugby league.โ€ https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2024/mar/06/nrl-in-las-vegas-tv-ratings-rugby-league-2024
  2. At it's simplest you will have access to much faster speeds. BUT the utility of such speed is dependent upon web content providers building networks that avail themselves of the available speed In the long term it's a good thing
  3. First VFL match is 3 weeks away. What do we do with TMac Spargo and BBB in the meantime There's often a VFL pre season match that might help McAdam could be our new 4-6
  4. Please don't mention the "L" word
  5. Big news on the NBN front Those on 100Mb plans should have their speed upgraded to 500down /50up free of charge. No mention of what those on 50/25 plans get. Will it make a difference... probably not in the short term but it makes 8k a possibility Broadband speeds are set to skyrocket for about 9 million Australians, with NBN Co proposing to make its most popular plan five times faster at no extra cost as demand for data explodes. In a move the company says is to meet unprecedented usage of high-definition streaming and remote work, NBN Co announced plans to raise its 100/20 Mbps Home Fast product to 500/50 Mbps, and triple its Home Superfast product from 250/25 Mbps to 750/50 Mbps. https://www.theage.com.au/technology/nbn-to-become-five-times-faster-at-no-extra-cost-20240305-p5f9vh.html Overseas I have 500 up and down. I don't notice any difference from my 100/40 plan in Australia. Web pages open at same speeds etc. Video at same quality. Anyway it may be the future, Singapore has plans to roll out 10Gb plus speed by 2026

Not sure I agree with the criteria They missed the two ovals and the indoor high performance training centre. Richmond has a pocket handkerchief facility by comparison to Essendon
  7. There are some suggestions that Kayo has downgraded its HD package to 720p. (was at 1080p) If this is right one is left with little choice but to pay the extra for 4k (may just be a bug so give it a few days and in the meantime check your diagnostics) As an aside 4k also delivers 5.1 sound. Great on F1 not sure if much difference for AFL PS: Kayo have now said that the 720p issue is a bug and they are working on it
  8. 35 and strong northerly winds... wonder what it has to be to call it off
  9. Giving the "keys" to an official website/twitter feed is a hard ask these days. That said no reason that independent social media "gurus" can't be given access and post on their own outlets.
  10. The VFL comp is taken for granted so it's lucky that a pre season hit out gets any coverage. 4-5 weeks until the next match for most of these guys
  11. Big game at Docklands at 8pm. Would have preferred a 5pm start for our game

Agree about Tomlinson and McDonald. Shame if you are correct about Hore. Also need to get more value out of Lever's disposal. His up and under kicking style screams for a quick release option to a Salem or similar

Surely it's a football act and of course the Crows player moved thus running into the innocent Port player. Apology, wine and roses then move on.

Rivers is the obvious answer and then we backfill Rivers' spot with Hore or similar. Going forward Jefferson and Petty are key. If the latter goes and the former doesn't come on a KPF is our number 1 need. I'm resigned to 2024 being a transition year. Just hope we use it well and come roaring back in 2025
  15. Different rules for medical retirements and additional special rules for concussion Not much use getting a top up player now in the sense that there would be few with the required quality or match fitness available. If there were I think the AFL would look favourably
  16. 6-10 is my guess but there will be at least 8 close games decided by less than 10 points is my prediction. Win all those close ones and we could be top 4. Lose them and we're 10th or worse. In 2024 WCE is probably the only game for which you can predict a relatively easy win. The back to back Adelaide games do us no favour. Hard to see us winning both and we could easily lose both. All the other interstate games (bar WCE) are tough with the home teams probably starting favourite
  17. Chandler has a lot to prove. Along with Laurie and Spargo he seems to be on the wrong trajectory unfortunately
  18. Tomlinson is not the guy to have against a fastball team other than in the last line and we have May for that. Turner was probably the next in line but he's now out for months. Suppose that leaves Howe. Is he up to it?
  19. ooh could we win ? (It would be a moral victory of course)
  20. On that game one would need to agree. Fastball is not just up the middle which is what we try to play. It can also be about fast 45 degree angle play. Will be interested to see how we set up against Carlton.
  21. Has JVR slotted a shot yet?
  22. OMG Mc Vee to someone who fluffs it and yet another turnover Schoolboy stuff
  23. Terrible forward play by Laurie
  24. Lever left standing and Tiger goal
  25. Lost count of the turnovers in that Tiger goal.
