Farewell Sam Frost
simple.... if he stays out of contract and is not traded he goes into the PSD where any club (in order of bottom to top) can elect to take him at his stated price. If that happens we get nothing but Frost is not guaranteed to get to his desired club. The alternative is that whoever wants him trades for him

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
interesting comment.. no idea which is better but I suspect salary cap and term of contract wise you may not be too far off the mark. After paying overs salary wise for Tom Mac and Brayshaw last year we're not as flush as some may think. Then again no club is. Hawks , Geelong and Richmond have an inbuilt benefit because they are seen as real premiership chances and players will take say 10% less to be there.I expect the same goes for WA born players playing for WC.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ED LANGDON
But but it's a long way to get a good latte

Farewell Sam Frost
If it's money and length of contract one would expect North to have more of both

Four years on good dollars is a long time if we get it wrong

Farewell Sam Frost
that's where we need to chat with GCS. Wouldn't be the first time a player got to the club he wanted. They will also have salary cap constraints and it can comedown to a bluffing game. Bottom line is that we have to play serious hardball with freo and any talk of our second rounder (almost a first) is way way too high.

Farewell Sam Frost
yep... he would be an unsigned player

Farewell Sam Frost
we are 17 so only GC can trump us for Langdon He just puts his price out there. Freo can have some steak knives if need be. Stretch/JKH or similar. Hawks could get trumped by 8 odd clubs for Frost.. very different

Farewell Sam Frost
Dollars and term of contract... the curse of a 10-22 ranked player hitting form at signing time .. we know it well. His worth probably increased 100k per season in 2019. At least if he goes to Hawthorn they will have to trade unlike us for Langdon. Second rounder or player if he has to go.

agree but isn't that 80% if not more of a team these days. Anyway enough of my musing.... can he kick and can he run to space to receive

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - ADAM TOMLINSON
Pardon my ignorance but what is the role and position of a wingman in modern football? The defensive zone on a kick out generally positions the forward as the last player in the zone and he is usually no more than 80metres from goal. Mind you I have much the same problem with the half forward line. Centre is just another name for a midfielder.

Finals Week 1
" The AFL’s case did not make reference to Greene making contact with Bontempelli’s eyes " Strange... the media were full of the eye gouging story this morning.

The Ashes - 2019
A hard day at the office but the win was thoroughly deserved. Wicket didn't deteriorate ...perhaps because it was so cold on the first three days. A very good crowd for a fifth day.

The Ashes - 2019
It will be interesting to see if and when England go on the defensive. Another 20 runs without loss and I think the balance shifts

The Ashes - 2019
The Thommo Lillee days were big but that Ashes series marked the start of perhaps what was the longest period of sustained domination by any team in cricketing history. India have come close but at best they matched us, Hard to compare earlier eras as they played comparatively few tests.

The Ashes - 2019
That was the start of Australia's dominance
