Lamb is the one that really needs to be under scrutiny if he is the main man leading our trading strategy I suspect he is not operating in a vacuum and probably takes his lead from others but tbh it’s been very very poor imo

Ugottobekidding right?

You crossed the line there - Max is no fool

Feels like this thread should be renamed the limp home

Looks like you’ve been doing more “learnings” and “leaning into” the underlying problems more so than many getting paid the big $$$ in our FD Our offseason is going to define whether we fall away significantly or can still compete with the better teams imo. We are going to need significant improvements in output from some existing players and some fresh talent - neither is that easy to achieve

Part 10: Jason Taylor - Visionary or Over-rated - 2022
Sydee replied to Deespicable's topic in Melbourne Demons
Based on exposed form to date I’d say your marks are about spot on - if not a tad generous -
I’m so sad to hear Gus is struggling - all we as supporters can do is hope that he gets back on his feet asap I have absolutely no doubt that his absence from the club has been a big downer on everyone. If you look at the team walking out to play each game they seem to always touch Gus’ hat - pretty much tells me everything I need to know about how important he was to the group. Let’s all hope that 2025 is a year where we have some reasonable luck and a healthy list and Gus can find a way to spend a little bit more time at the club (assuming that’s what is best for him) Im not sure we are achieving much with the bickering here and the he said she said debate

I know we have had a bad run with injuries and unforeseen retirements etc but if you have watched much of Casey this season you would have to conclude that we have quite a few players on our list that are not likely to make it. There are plenty of holes to fill so that we have reasonable depth on our list particularly in certain positions (ruck, midfield and key forward) This team feels like it needs an injection of some talented fresh faces - I’d like to see us trade into this draft so that we add as many quality youngsters as possible (Windsor is an example of the impact quality young players can have)

The little bit of Riley you have seen must be the little bit I haven’t seen
-
Don’t think the excitement will last long if that happens - unfortunately!

All fair enough but personally I’d be a bit [censored] if I was the player to be dropped to give him a start when atm you would really struggle to mount a case for that based on form

Promise ?

I agree with you 100%

If Caleb is out I assume Hunter gets another chance Not sure that would have happened if Windsor and Langdon remained available Has a lot to prove imho
-
They also had a bloke called Jesse who is second in the Coleman race with 53 goals to date It’s a bit easier to carry a young developing tall in their side imho Besides Cadman is ahead of Jefferson atm in terms of being physically ready - again just my opinion If we lose a couple more and it’s no longer possible to make finals then sure let’s try a few more young blokes - we are not quite there yet

Gee that doesn’t sound like much fun Hold on wait a minute ………

Dogs in some good form , look well balanced over the park , playing with a lot of confidence Big test for the swans now

I live interstate but having read the game day dribble and post game moaning I’m glad I didn’t have to sit amongst people who only support the team when they are winning It was always going to be a struggle this season given all the circumstances - some people have very unrealistic expectations

Sounds like a gag order to me I hope we can do so much better in Australia
-
So I take it that free speech is now dead in this country ?
-
We lost Grundy, Jordan, Harmes and Dunstan as well - none of them I’d call quick Windsor and Tholstrup both quicker than any of those guys Doesn't mean we couldn’t do with a few more with genuine leg speed but I’m not sure you’re on the right track here CF

Yes in the VFL he is ok - not very good , not great , not yet anyway Does this translate to be ok in the AFL - I suspect not
-
Fair call - btw for those of us screaming for Will Verrall or Tom Fullarton to ruck in the AFL I believe Bryan had 53 HOs vs a combined 20 in that game (Verrall 15 , Fullerton 5) Made them both look way off the pace as a ruckman atm
-
No arguments from me on Hunter who is now likely not to play AFL again imo Some of our list decisions have been very questionable with the benefit of 20/20 hindsight I watch McAdam often at Casey and struggle to see how he is ever going to play AFL regularly - he is the epitome of a talented footballer who only wants to play on “his” terms
