  1. Shocking post. Bet a team full of Matty bate/Sam Blease looking red heads would please you?
  2. The way he's written up Wines you'd think he should be picked in the mid 30s. Ok at this, average at that, may struggle etc. Either harsh or we are being dudded. I go with the former.
  3. The more i think about it the more im open to the idea that perhaps GWS is already content with their midfield stocks (after taking Whitfield). They already have a number of gun midfielders. It makes sense for them to opt for a key defender and an x factor type player. All depends on whether they focus on need or talent. The Toumpas dream is still alive!
  4. If we dont take Wines it would surely be one of the biggest draft surprises since Freo took Hill over Rich in 08. Nearly every news source claims we are into him in a big way so unlikely they are all wrong.
  5. Josh Saunders isnt even mentioned in Knightmares draft but looks to have some real toughness and line breaking pace. Matthew Dick (nickname heaven) also looks like a smart and quick outside player.
  6. Just watched the O'Rourke highlights video on AFL.com and i think this discussion is definitely worth reopening. While not as tough as Wines, he still wins the ball and his skills and creativity look top class in the video. Definitely a Pendlebury clone. Tough decision imo. http://draftmachine.afl.com.au/
  7. There is now highlights of O'Rourke on the AFL draft machine and boy is the Pendlebury comparison spot on for him. Inside and outside ball winner and sublime kicking skills. Tougher decision than many think in my opinion. Im absolutely torn between these two. Love Wines' hard edge.
  8. The offseason does funny things to some people...
  9. When it comes to incompetence and incomprehensibility i put nothing passed the MFC's capability. In terms of going to court to argue 'definitions', i dont see how our legal team can beat that of a billion dollar organisation that is the AFL and their legal team.
  10. The only positive is that the ruling may not be final until after this years draft, so any draft sanctions will apply next year. Still not great but at least we can plan for it. In terms of fines, is there any point the AFL fining us? They either bankroll it themselves or lose a club. Neither would appeal to them i dont think. Frustrating that we are the only club who will go down for this after many have done it before us. That would be just typical. Also frustrating that its all media driven and been caused by one individual who spoke unecessarily on television. We were home free otherwise. The AFL had previously ticked it off. Unbelievable bad luck.
  11. So because we are melbourne supporters we know that the club is trying to pull the wool over GCs eyes, but the people in charge at GC are oblivious to it and will believe everything we are saying and be frightened off.... As has been said above, Its attempt to get him in the second round but in reality its take him with pick 3 and move on.
  12. I really hope the karma bus smashes Gold Coast in the face at some point in the future.
  13. Sylvia is a tweeter also. If he doesn't get on and deny it, hard not to think maybe something in it. I'm thinking trade request. True or not, McLean is a massive to$$er.
  14. Looking at that list its shattering to think we might pass up on some of that midfield talent at pick 4 if we are forced to take Viney at 3. Personally I'd only be taking Grundy if we can get Viney in second round and use pick 3 on one of those potentialy elite mids. We need to try and snare two elite mids from this draft.
  15. Ive never understood how peoples kids can follow other teams, regardless. Surely at a young age its not about winning. It should be about wanting to be like your parent and bond with them and liking the merchandise they buy you. Ge tin early, before they understand the concept of winning and losing.
  16. I doubt it will be in the near future, but I definitely think he is worthy. Other than premierships his stats back up well against current inductees of the calibre of Guy Mckenna, Gavin Brown, Robert Flower and many others.
  17. I could handle him leaving the AFL for his cultural family reaosns bu tto turn around and play for another club and we get nothing for him, that just plain sucks on his behalf. After everything we have done.
  18. Johnstone in a heartbeat, and that's sad.
  19. The whole problem is that mad Monday means more to these spuds than playing good footy
  20. Agree this kid just isn't good enough. One trick pony. Don't care how well he kicks it, he has no other good attributes needed to become elite or even good. Soft as butter, no intensity, no second efforts.
  21. Spot on. You cant honestly expect people, other than die hards, to sit through the rubbish we have see the last two years. Its the length of time that is the factor. Ill sit through a period of rubbish, but 4 out of 5 years of being given nothing, its pretty tough for people, myself included.
  22. A chance to gloat for a moment. Ive made the Grand Final in the "Stynes League", playing Tims Demons. Just wondering what your Demonland Name is? May the best team win!
  23. Good second and last qtrs given the gulf in experience. Happy with Blease, tappy . T Mac, Jetta and to a degree Strauss.
