Further to this, it could be said we recruited little boys becauase could potentially be leaders. Unfortunatley they all cant play football in the AFL becauase of their physical or skill limitations so the leadership side of them cant flourish. I recall the likes of Watts, Grimes, Toumpas, Strauss, Trengove, Scully & Morton all being drafted ahead of other bigger bodied footballers becauase they were potential leaders. It has totally backfired.
I love the club but definitely do not love this group of players, coaches and administrators. My level of support currently ends at paying for membership for the sake of survival. Until there is a massive culture shift my matchday support is finished. Since 186 I have felt more disconnected by the week and now there is nothing left but anger and resentment.
The main thing that bothers me is we seem to wear it as many or more times than our traditional strip. I thought it was originally for playing against teams like carlton and Adelaide. Now its pretty much all away games.
People forget we played some good spirited footy in 2010, AFTER the tanking saga. Why did the shame only kick in for the senior group in 2011? Yes in hindsight the tanking was wrong but It's a poor excuse by the players
I'd have no issue with record changes. Terlich, Jetta, Kent, Evans , Macdonald, Mcdonald, Davey rather than the likes of Dunn, Watts, garland, Pedersen, Tappy, Sylvia and even Frawley and Mckenzie.
