Couldn't be more disappointed with ANB and hunt. How many more chances ? Jones should have been rested. Concrete boots. We just don't capitalise on turnovers
-
Interesting way of looking at it. As I keep saying our list is clogged with mediocrity. I do not understand where all the hype came from. If you're going to have mediocrity they at least need to be able to play a role or have a point of difference
-
Don't care who comes in its all mediocrity anyway, but I don't think I can watch us with Lewis , Bugg and Melksham playing. Harmes and ANB are also wastes of space.
-
Pretty much summed it up perfectly. Time to accept majority of the list is still mediocre, I don't know where this depth thing came from. At least ten blokes are vfl players in their skill and decisions. This coaching group have undone much of the game plan improvement Roos brought us. Lack of leadership remains an issue.
-
Culture and coaching are out two biggest issues followed by half a list of mediocre unprofessional footballers. What a bunch of pathetic blokes.

How so many can play down or excuse giving up a 42 point lead against a bottom 4 team is really astonishing. Could not be more disappointed. With all that happened last year yet we still lack desire to be ruthless. Oliver and Hogan have been the only enjoyable aspects of our first two games. Just hope there is improvement as the year progresses.

Robbo (Mark) doesn't think we'll make finals

Pretty sure he's just come back from a long lunch to record that video. He was all over the shop. Mentioning Harmes when talking about our defence for example. Fair point about round 23 last year though. I know I still don't trust this group. As excited as I am for the season there's always that lingering doubt. -
The Viney injury has really upset me.
-
Not much talk about Tom Bugg's wastefulness and lack of composure in front of goal. Proved to be very costly against North and almost yesterday. Can take a decen tmark but where does he stand? Again, lack of depth in key position is gifting guys like he and O mac games.
-
Very well said. There's a soft underbelly at this club that can't be shaken and today was beyond unacceptable. Sick of excuses and near is not good enough.

Im still burning even the morning after. Been a while since i havent been able to sleep it off. Most of this has already been said but... - no leadership. Jones very limited now that we are pushing to be a good team. The captains curse hits Viney. - overuse of handball and poor decision making under pressure and inside 50. - poor team selection ( Jkh over Kent I'm , really? No pedo) I refused to use injury as excuse. Even Goodwin says that good teams find away. So far we have failed miserably when it counts. Special mention to Mike Hibberd..great game. Skilled tough and professional.

Dawes....this is getting ridiculous

It's says more about how bad our key tall defensive stocks are that oscar has to play right now when he is no where near ready.
-
Lumumba has been fantastic. Ferocious intensity, run and dare and attack. I'm happy to sacrifice the odd error or holding the ball for what he provides. Compare him to a grimes or garland? He may seem a bit reckless but a Big part of the attacking game plan is based on risk taking.

I remember it well even though I was 10 years old listening on the radio. At 3 qtr time I ran outside to tell my dad we were smashing them and would win. My dad, a wise experienced demon fan, said annoyingly "don't assume anything with Melbourne". The rest is history. Not much has changed.

Agree. Just as I was somewhat beginning to move on, tonight's game brought back the sick sinking feeling of just how bad we were/are and how unacceptable that performance was last week. How much progress we unwound. This week's game can't come quick enough, expecting nothing less than some positivity and redemption.

Makes sense now. Roos in the box isn't necessarily helping so why no give the reigns to our future coach and roos sits on the bench offering valuable advice directly to players
-
I left the ground extremely disappointed last week even though we won. The cracks in the execution of game plan and game plan were glaring in the middle two qtrs. This week was the same yet we added laziness and softness to the mix. Disaster. This is a shameful and embarrassing result. As the OP said this is worse than 186 in many ways given where we are supposed to be at.
-
If Watts can bring this form to regular season we are instantly a lot better offensively. Fantastic effort today. Kent is super important. Ball use still concerns me but has improved. It's our defensive work all around the ground that is great to watch.

Wish the best for Trengove but I'm not forgetting how in the two years pre injury he was already well off AFL pace. Hopefully there's a role that suits his other strong attributes.

Are we sticking to 90 rotations this week?

Saturday Talking Point: Game Day 27/2/16
stranga replied to Whispering_Jack's topic in Melbourne Demons
Much better intensity this qtr. Haven't seen enough yet from the likes of Harmes and Hunt to suggest they can fill the running half back position. Surprised with some of the training reports on O Mac. Still looks very raw. -
What an amzing cameo by the great man. Would've given us hope and many great memories in this bleak era. Gutted.

Tyson is only solid becauase he had two years development at the Giants. If we took Kelly as a rookie he would not be playing the way he currently is. I'm happy with Dom and Salem.
