Amazing that 2 weeks in a row a faulty goal umpires call in the last minute changes the finals destiny of 2 teams. The first one, ours, the soft call was touched when it should been called a goal. The second last night not even reviewed! Intriguing to me that both umpires said they clearly heard the touch ( hand / goal post) I mean with 50k plus screaming fans (at full voice) and hands and bodies whacking the posts and padding as the pack descends … how the hell can they say that with confidence? No clear deflection in either case so it’s all about the sounds.

well a massive cheque fr a 3- 4 year contract would help , with huge money from the afl as an ambassador as well as life on the gold coast. i can see what that sounds like a good idea. he’ll always be a legend at the tiges whether he plays 300 or not

Not asking for sources… but, from what you hear, will that announcement come with some financial backing? That bit is definitely as important as the first.

I know you cant really comment having not seem Pettys Injury..but I well remember Clarke doing his Lisfranc maybe 10 years ago? and basically never being a player again. Was traded and played few games for Geelong and that was it. Has treatment for this injury improved or is there a decent likliehood that Petty ( having a bad version of this) may be finished or close to? Part B of this question is at what point are they likely to know? It could impact off season trading in a big way

I remember about 6 weeks ago looking at Carlton, Hawks and Sydney as three pretty easy games to finish out the year. Sheesh....almost by the week this assignment has gotten harder. We lost petty to injury last week, then we lost a critical game to an umpire blunder in the last 40 secs this week. For a successful season ( which we are most definitely having) there's starting to be quite a bit of heartache in it.

Its true. He nails those shots. Something that few are talking about is what happened on the mark as trac went for that shot though/ The 2nd carlton player was way too close to the mark BEFORE the umpire called play on...and came closer BEFORE the umpire called play on. It was all happening pretty quick but seen 50's Seriously should have been 50 I think. It meant that trac didnt have the clear run at it he could have. Perhaps he should have gone back and had the men on the mark cleared out of and just taken his time. He can roost it that distance for sure.

The improvers get all the attention don’t they! Being consistently at the top top level you can get over looked. Imo Goody has had his best season in the chair by a mile this year . Yes we won it in 21 but we did w little to no injuries and little to no course direction change over the season also.

Amazing to think we have had, for the majority of the season, no Brown, Tmac, fritsch and are sitting 2nd with a great percentage. it’s been a transitional year for us up forward and up to now we’ve been nothing but impressive.

I was only aware of 5 stages 😉maybe waiting ..and then anticipating the worst see the other two?

If that diagnoisis is being accurately reported what's your sense of the recovery time he will need? Surely a player would lose a lot of fitness having to be off their foot for so long?

This one’s for Andy. I’m a fellow MFCSS sufferer. So, How the hell do we hold the hope we now have re sitting in 2nd spot and everything to play for, alongside the despondency of losing our big power forward. We’re both doomed and at a high point at the same time.

Healy on kayo, looking at it on replay thought it could well be the dreaded syndesmosis. ie 8 weeks. Anyway fingers crossed it’s not .. he’s a big cog in the wheel for us.
