  1. A gun. won the B&F in 88 and got suspended in the prelim that year before we played ( if u could call it that) the hawks in the GF. Wouldn’t have prevented the utter mauling that day but his absence sure didn’t help.
  2. Ross Brewer! blast from the past there. Remember him kicking 5 or 6 Vs Fitzroy in his first year. when Stan Alves was captain. In the category “almost v good” .. but he was only ever really just ok. Went to the pies and kicked the winning goal in a semi v Fitzroy
  3. Brodie is going to bring a different dynamic to the group. Jackson appeared to me like he was in no way a leader. Brodie will add weight to the leadership around the place and be automatically respected. Good fr the club.
  4. But we were set on doing that anyway with Jackson. It worked ok in 21. Fingers crossed it works again.
  5. The angst, fr me anyway, was more the year before last. This year most of us had already given up on him anyway. He did kick 4.3 v the Bombers in round 2? and I briefly got my hopes up again. But that’s Sam isn’t it. Always an appetiser and never the main meal!
  6. Not sure the cats would go fr that. OUT 7 , 25 IN 13, 27 and 35 ish.
  7. Unfortunately players have to lie in the AFL set up as it is. Everyone does it. But in saying that I also agree with you. The back half of his season was [censored] and he let us down in two losing finals. He might have been injured but, even so, the perception that he was no longer invested is now around him. Way better fr him to say less and more carefully. He feels all too casual about things . let’s see how that flies at the dockers. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed Jacko and he’s still very immature as a character . Something tells me that arriving back in Freo, around all his old mates, and as the now highly touted , million dollar star isn’t going to help him mature quickly either. Wouldn’t surprise me to see him take 4- 5 years to get the most out of his talent. Fingers crossed on that.
  8. Tough fr the pies lol, after all they asked fr 20-25 and we’ve apparantly disrespected them badly by offering 27. looking forward to the dees standing their ground or handing them a future 4th.
  9. yep. mind u we would have been stoked if we’d gotten Cerra that way. I hate this current trading system. Sadly we were always on the backfires when he was out of contract.
  10. An issue that is only going to get bigger also. Hard to see any good ending.
  11. I remember when we used to celebrate getting a new sponsor. I still do.
  12. and a pick swap with port. But aside form that....
  13. To be honest I reckon he's going to be a superstar...we can only dream.
  14. Gotta say I agree here. Has played important roles fr this team. I also have no sense that Sparrow or Jordan would be better. Can only assume he’s being pushed out.
  15. Will be hard to see all of Jackson, Hunt, Harmes and Bedford in different colours 😞
  16. imo they would have absolutely have known re Scott. Yze was played fr optics as well as it being most likely a massive stealing of our IP. The later part not being widely talked about.
  17. The question isnt about injuries really , it’s more about injury management. Hindsight is easy I agree but we did make a lot of mistakes in this regard in 22. Let’s hope they reset their approach in 23.
  18. but geez our second last laugh was a good one … i don’t even care about the last one. 😉
  19. People freaked out re May for pick 7.. and two 1sts for Lever ( no mention of the 2nd rounder back.. was it Rivers?) Over at the pies site they reckon 2 x 1st rounders . Over here it’s 1x a second rounder. Every supporter at every club wants a win / lose in trading. Dodorro over at the bombers pretty much tries to own that space and look at the bombers. Dees go about their work in a quiet , fair way. I respect that. In the end I think a latish first rounder is about right.
  20. Thanks fr this. But could u clarify. was it a pic without comment and u saying the rest or was it a pic with his comment “ ready to go next year” ?
  21. but did he in fact re injure that foot? :-)
  22. Im just speculating. But fwiw this is my thinking. it would seem to me if he says “goodbye” before a deal is actually done it automatically diminishes our hand. If Grundy said “goodbye and thank you” to the pie fans pre deal, wouldn’t you think it’s possible we could pay less for him? I understand Grundy is still contracted so it’s not exactly the same, but none the less Jackson is saying no more or less than Grundy atm. And I’m sure both of them care enough about their previous team mates to hold off on saying too much before things are finalised.
  23. How about waiting til the deal is complete first! . If he does that kind of thing now it’s undermining our position. I have no doubt he is getting informed by the club in terms how they would like him to conduct himself.
