  1. He's turned into a very important player hasn't he. We're suddenly living in the time of not having TMac or BBB. Wasnt quite expecting that to come so fast. Hopefully one of them can get up. But if not, we give Schache a decent run and see what he's got. I just think JVR ( in his first season) and Schache is pretty lightweight...but Im struggling to see what else to do.
  2. A dubious statement I know, but I reckon I might get more satisfaction in getting JVR off than a 30- 40 point win v the hawks. Theres probably a tipping point where that changes, maybe a win over 60 points? I hope the players dont feel like I do though! How the worm has turned since 2017 when we beat the top of the table hawks and it was THE best dee feeling I'd had for years.
  3. Never forget that brilliant run down of one of the quickest players in the game, Petrocelli ( over west coast I think) . Ragdolled him. Got up, got the free then promptly kicked a 20 metre pass out on the full. That seems to sum him up somehow. Did things that were incredible and terrible...often back to back. Good luck to him though 150 AFL games is good career by any standards. Fond and scary memories of him lol

The real question is what are the optics and can the AFL live with a "not guilty" whatever the actual facts are. Player A, runs into player B who goes off on a stretcher. Bad optics...AFL want to look good. Money, advertising etc.
  6. Also.. if you feel brave. He has super high standards of himself and others. It often looks on the screen, that he’s constantly getting ****ty with his other back men. what’s the balance he feels between encouragement and camraderie and getting [censored] off.
  7. GC 3 straight wins now. This isn’t the soft kill it looked like a few weeks ago… they’ll be primed to rest themselves against one of the best.
  8. Has he been playing in that role at Casey?
  9. And invite in the US betting mafia and all the layers of corruption that would no doubt come with it. No thanks.
  10. train will still be quicker.

Cameron to Geelong looks pretty good now though doesn’t it.
  12. Phil Carmen probably deserves a mention too.
  13. 23 points but game feels like it’s on a knife edge.
  14. Not today we didn’t. Lol. I’m not writing him off but didn’t he look off today… I didn’t know he could even play like that.
  15. How long has it been since we looked that bad? They lacked intensity and cohesion. Really a bad showing, Grundy and May were terrible. How long since May has looked like that? I can’t help wondering if they were all ill?
  16. yes… except in this case Im prepared to make an exception ;-)
  17. it’s a delicate situation isn’t it. I’m sure Paddy, his family and the swans are listening to his doctor(s) more than any other outside voices. At least I hope so. He’s become an important player for them so I hope any drive for club success or money isn’t made bigger than his health concerns. The swans seem pretty together as a club and I’d tend to trust them in this matter. On a club level Angus Brayshaw was v nearly in the same category as Paddy. I wonder how Angus, us supporters, and the club itself would feel if his doctors said he was ok to keep playing and the AFL made him retire? It’s got to be either Paddy’s choice on his own or on a doctors insistence. In a case like this I think the medical findings need to be made transparent to the AFL. Then, if paddy wanted to ignore that advice , the AFL would have to act.

Definitely burn the calendar! you’ve done enough damage already keeping it on yr wall. Get it burnt . 😉
  19. hmmm Bruce ahead of Fritsch? Fritter has to be the most underrated multiple 50 goal seaso, 6 goal GF player I’ve ever seen.

My thoughts exactly. On top of no ruck, the pies also, as you point out, kicked for goal really poorly. eg nick daicos hits the post from direct in front 15 m on the run. Elliot kicks 3 behinds all of which he normally nails. If I was a pie Id be feeling pretty confident of the match up if it happens again. I also see no blueprint there of how to beat the pies. In fact watching that game, and how undermanned they were, only makes me feel even more wary of them than I was before that game.
  21. memories of the heartbreak years 😢
  22. Or if the blatantly obvious deliberate oob had been paid against heath shaw after Pettard dropped it and he handballed it over the boundary line.

I guess it depends on what Gosh's would look like as its prime placement. But Caufield I imagine may give us way more room, capacity for better facilities and more of a sense of "our own turf" Tbh though both sound exciting to me.
  24. First year in the system. He appears to have that “ something” about him. But he also looks like he needs a lot of fitness work. Once upon a time Clarry had the same look… so lets hope he has something close to the same discipline and drive.
  25. In 3021 the policy seemed to be to play through pain for injured players and we win a flag. in 2022 that philosophy backfired. What’s his current position? Has it even altered or does it just seem like it has?
