  1. Luckless Melbourne forward Mitch Clark to meet with Demons officials and his management to discuss future plans
  2. Expect the MFC to be fined for tanking if this eventuates.
  3. Should have made a citizen's arrest and released him onto the park once a week for a couple of hours.
  4. I think this is one of those things we wouldn't give a stuff about if we were winning games. I follow a few different sporting teams and one of them in particular gives out either no or misleading information on player injuries routinely, but they win a lot so it's more a minor annoyance. I get concerns about credibility and integrity, but the club has been devoid of it for a long time so I'm prepared to give this fitness/comms department time. My main frustration is that we are copping all these injuries under Misson. The guy had about one total injury in all the years he had at Sydney and St. Kilda. Making up for lost time I guess.
  5. I like this new parallel universe where Hawthorn uses its second round pick on the biggest red flag in draft history while Melbourne picks JKH two picks later.
  6. I don't say this to be offensive, but I can't remember one good game Bennell played for us. Good luck to him if he ends up becoming half decent.
  7. Perhaps it's time to "correct him". Misson via the MFC twitter just listed T-Mac and Fitzmagic as 50/50. To ever play again.
  8. With the wacky new playoff format, it's imperative that the Sharks get the division title so as to avoid LA in the first round. Whatever happens though, we need someone to knock out Chicago. We could probably eliminate or be eliminated by every playoff team in the West with varying degrees of likelihood except Chicago. They're that good and they're one of the few teams that can consistently deny San Jose the puck and limit our scoring chances, two strengths of ours that usually see us dominate games for great stretches.
  9. We need to start a sub-forum called Oliver Whines where we can lament our poor recruiting.
  10. It's at the bottom of the page with the other sponsors. Not sure how recently it was put there.
  11. In related news, Melbourne wins the 2014 premiership, and Demons fans complain about not being able to get Grand Final tickets, the price of the commemorative framed photo being too dear, Dan Nicholson winning the Norm Smith, and WEG not being available to design the premiership poster.
  12. What awful news. His poor wife and kids. 47 - still so many years to spend with kids, grandkids, work, retire, travel... RIP
  13. I took my 2 and 4 year olds along today at 11 and they'd had enough at 11.30 so we left then. I may have been the real winner today.
  14. Haha! I was on ESPN LA and that's how I found out they were playing Sydney! Yes, he doesn't seem to be too fond of the idea.

The logo looks enormous on the helmet - not sure if that's the way it'll actually be. I liked the Tampa Bay kit, so it's good to see it's a bit of a tweaking of the logos, design and colours. http://www.buccaneers.com/news/article-smith/Bucs-Unveil-Enhanced-Logo-and-Helmet/744d6357-fe9f-4ecd-bda4-2dc05ff0f2d3
  16. I see the LA Dodgers and Arizona are opening their season in a month with two games at the SCG. I find it peculiar that they didn't take the one-hour flight to Melbourne for the second game. You'd get 100,000 and exposure to both the country's biggest cities. Slack. The MLB is the only one of the four major US sports I don't follow, but I'd have gone for sure if it was on here.
  17. That stunt might have worked back in the two win days, but since we'll be winning 25 this year I'm not so sure.
  18. Paul Roos and a stable, quality off-field department locked away long term. Five of the last 17 premiers won with mediocre to good on-field talent but outstanding coaching, development and stability. We've performed far below the sum of our parts for too long.
  19. Maybe they're losing their sponsor, didn't have the skills for photoshop and simply had to use their hands?
  20. I don't know what you clowns are worried about. Once Roos was appointed, 25 wins this year was all but assured.
  21. How hard is it for people to accept that in a bad team there might be players that could be a part of a better team? In the NFL last season, the Chiefs went 2-14 and yet had 6 Pro Bowlers. There's a lot more to having a premiership team than just having good players. Lets not forget that we've had two of the worst coaches in VFL/AFL history since Daniher left. When you upgrade to the best coach in the AFL, you don't just hope for improvement, it is expected.

If the Colts win this week, I will punt my TV through the window.
  23. I'm not going to be able to escape Sunday's horror anywhere am I? It goes instantly into the top 10 most devastating sporting losses I've witnessed. Anyway, we also replaced our weakest on-field area (league-worst Cassel at quarterback) via trade to pick up a solid QB in Smith. Melbourne's midfield was league-worst also, and while it remains to be seen how much it will improve next year, it should be better. As for England, it was a stunning implosion. They were completely rudderless and wilted under the Australian attack. I thought over in England they were not that much more talented than us but kept winning because they, as a tighter unit, won the big moments consistently. That just made their inept capitulation here more incredible. Well done to Darren Lehmann too - great preparation.

Can someone please tell me how much we won by? I just got back from booking airfares and tickets to NY for the Superbowl.
