  1. http://www.sportsnew...north-cleanout/ McKinley - 25 years old Urquhart - 24 years old This is the age bracket of players I would like to get our hands on. Injecting a bit of experience would be nice.
  2. Surely we can't afford to spend another year down the bottom, struggling to win more than 3 or 4 games for the season.. And pinning our hope on 2 or more players that wont be eligible until 2014.. I think we need to trade for established (but still young) players, so we can start showing SOMETHING next year.. hope is a big thing in footy.. and atm we have none..
  3. I know were desperate for a few older players to teach the younger ones a thing or two.. but ffs the man is nearly 50.. no thanks.
  4. And to make matters worse.. Geelong are targeting Caddy.. Who the hell is going to be left for us? We are gonna be severely undermanned next season!
  5. Of course! I would have Watts first.
  6. Jones Morton Sellar Magner MacDonald
  7. FFS we cant take a trick.. Liam Jurrah could've been anything.. and the MFC was prepared to get him there.. I think this is a big slap in the face.. FWIW .. good luck to liam and his family.. But seriously.. let the fortunes turn our way for once.. please!!
  8. I'm gonna have $100 on the Suns @ 3.35. Win or lose, ill be happy either way!
  9. Hugely overrated... Collingwood will pump essendon in front of 90,000 fans.
  10. Going by last weeks performance.. You'd be better off NOT having Magner in your side. He could very well fall into the negative numbers this week.
  11. Changes for next week: IN: 50,000 Carlton members/supporters OUT: 30,000 Melbourne members/supporters I would hate to imagine the ratio of Melbourne to Carlton supporters next sunday evening....
  12. Do people think McKenzie will try to negate Kennedy's influence? (was thinking of making Kennedy supercoach captain) comments?
  13. I'm not sure if this has already been outlined by someone else.. But like many other supporters, I'm getting extremely frustrated at the way we enter forward 50. But I think (hope) I may have hit the nail on the head as to why we are doing this... When were moving the ball out of defence, we are quite slow at getting it up the ground, allowing numbers from the opposition to get back and flood our forward 50. Then we are constantly bombing it long and high into the forward pockets, near to the boundary. As a result of no one being able to take a contested grab usually in a pack of 3 or 4 players, the ball will 85% of the time, spill out of bounds for a throw in. Why don't we hit the ball up to a more dangerous spot..? Top of the goal square..? hit a man on the lead..? Myself as well as everyone else has been asking these questions! Neeld has definitely ordered the players to hit the pockets, and i think he wants the ball to go out of bounds.. He wants our forwards to practise again, and again and again.. In REAL match environments to DEFEND and trap the ball inside our forward 50.. like the best teams in the comp can do (West Coast, Collingwood etc) He wants it to eventually become a habitual thing for the players.. At this stage, it looks as though the players are concentrating on that more than grabbing the footy and actually kicking a goal.. They are almost in two minds.. but like most things, If you drill it into their brains and focus on something, practise will make perfect. And once we start locking the ball inside our forward 50 every time it goes down there, we won't have to hit the pockets.. We can drive it 20, 30 meters out, with the confidence that if Clarke, Jurrah or Howe can't take a contested grab.. Our forwards will be ready to pounce and throw their 2nd, 3rd and even 4th efforts at keeping the ball down there, until we SCORE. Naturally the players have to have the endeavour to apply this.. But i am confident it will come. West Coast are a good example of how it takes time and practise to get things right. From last on the ladder one year to top 4 the next... What changed? Their forward 50 pressure, the rest just fell into place..
  14. Melbourne will let the dogs out on sunday. We will go down by at least 7 goals.
  15. 'MELBOURNE'S Clint Bartram says he is "burning inside" and cannot wait to return to the field for a nothing-to-lose clash against top-four fancy West Coast.' I hate to say this... But we will lose all of what little confidence and faith we have left. I think we will compete well for maybe 2 or 3 quarters, but eventually we will succumb to the class of Eagles and lose by 6 or 7 goals. I hope they prove me wrong.. but i can't see it happening.
  16. It is dumb when we have more than one player going up for a mark in the forward line and we NEVER seem to have players roving the pack or crumbing the spill. We recruited Clark to make a contest, and if he can't take the mark at least bring the ball to ground. how come we never have players to pounce on the ball!? Except we have howe and clark trying to take speccies at the same time... dumb football.
  17. This definitely seems to be the one and only gameplan we've implemented. Neeld seemed to be completely non reactive. It was a shamble. There were no glimpses of it coming off or being a potentially good plan. Unfortunately it seems that were stuck with it. Thats what the players have been practising all pre season, and thats what theyre going to have to learn to get right. So realistically were back to square one. New coach, new gameplan, more waiting. Godddddd im frustrated.
  18. 6. Magner 5. J. Watts 4. Trengove 3. N. jones 2. Bail 1. Howe There was a big gap imo between magner and the next best.
  19. I feel sick. This is awful... Just awful. I want to go home and lock myself in my room for days..
  20. Get me in there aswell. Pretty confident ill have a cracking year.
