  1. A long time. Sylvia IMO is Melbourne's most talented player. Agreed he's a bad boy. He wasn't a passenger today and hasn't been for the past 2 months. Played good consistent footy in a very poor side.
  2. sorry rpfc...never got around to responding. The Hypocritical comment. If we are judging purely on performance then calling for mass player culls while expressing such admiration for a non proven and so far unsuccessful coach does seem a little "hypocritical". For example Jack Trengove? He's selected by the Coach to be the Face of the Melbourne FC and lead MFC forward. Without pointing the stick I have read threads by Demonlanders expressing full support of MN while even today having absolutely no confidence and to be blunt openly bagging out on our Captain. This is fair enough but to then be critical of others offering not such a complimentary report card on Neeld is hypocritical.
  3. How about this... Mitch/Jonesy/Sylvia Captaincy revival for 2013. With the Glut of Specialty Coaches and Exoperts at Melbourne FC we all must admit something went horribly wrong. IMO this list isn't as bad as the results panned out. Perhaps it's motivation. JIm Stynes sad passing along with LJ's injuries and off field injuries? Mitch Clark's foot? Dare I say MN? Is he any good? Time will tell this time next year. Great to see Coling Sylvia back to full fitness and sticking up a few non-believers
  4. Ok get ready for it!!!!! Sylvia for Captain 2013....
  5. Agreed he will be fine and is a great player. Way to young for Captain responsibilities.
  6. What the eye can't see the Chef gets away with!!! Poor move to make him Skip...
  7. Leigh Brown could take a good mark. Who know he might come up. We do need another Spalding, Ingerson or Icke type. Rivers has played the role for some years now. he needs help.
  8. to clarify do you mean good pick up or good pick up truck??
  9. A strong contingent at the Sandringham Hotel on Sunday evening seemed to think yes indeed Strike 3! If this is the case he will not play again this season and an announcement via the AFL is to follow. All rumours at this stage.
  10. IMO you are reading too much into it. Very important for Melbourne to account ourselves well V Freo. Neeld's Melbourne will be out to win and I for one will give us a
  11. One angle is Melbourne were rocked by Jimmy's illness. While initially we thought this may have a positive short term impact it clearly had the reverse. His gut wrenching passing not to mention LJ 's issues and Mich Clark injury were all major set backs. For me the highlight of the year was the St. Kilda home game at the G. Melbourne's first three quarters were played out with cohesion and venom. Next one was exposing the Bombers and sneaking away with 4 points. I could be heard screaming 3 blocks down the road when the siren sounded.
  12. Ok that does it for me. Will go with that Rass!
  13. Crawf52 Agreed Neeld must be given a chance. Simply venting out after the GWS game. Very lucky the clock stopped otherwise were heading for a loss. Big statement and constant cliche don't do it. Just want to see more cohesive style of play. The underlying worry is Melbourne fork out huge bucks for Clokes/Boak types without anyone at the steering wheel.
  14. Identifying who to keep and who to cut at end of 2012 Doesn't this happen every year to every team regardless of outcome?
  15. Cheers Rhino am not au fait will all the intricacies around the trade table. Yes Sellar is a trier at best. Bewildered to why he was brought to Melbourne especially since Craig knew how good/bad he was. Good Suburban player and would dominate that level. Wait and see if the 5th win comes. If not it's a failure for mine and backwards from last year. Perhaps knock off Crowbaggers this week would do it?
  16. Initially had the same feeling about Neeld however he is a 3 year proposition and should be given the chance over 3 not 2. Sure he's a big worry with Hot Air statements, poor eye contact but he's learning. Neeld will be judged midway 2014. If we're pushing for 8th at that time he'll be given another 3 years.
  17. IMO 5 wins this year is a pass mark for Neeld but only a bare one. The constant talk of massive cull by RR types is not going to happen but obviously some changes are a comin...Gutsy types such as Couch, Magner, Sellar, Greene and possible retirement of Davey will make way for some quality trades.
  18. He's certainly "full of words" . Lets just hope it's not just that or "hot air" Will know in another year. If no improvement attitudes will change quickly. Performances to date this year are not short of despicable and not up to AFL standard. Close
  19. RRover quote=Neeld has hand-picked captains and a leadership group he feels will best reflect his footballing ethos moving forward. Let's trust his judgement. Rover quote=Also, you are underestimating what Watts can become in 2013. We need quick, agile, athletic rebounders. Not old school floating backmen like Rivers IMO. america de cali, on 16 August 2012 - 10:47 AM, said: Lets trust his judgement? "What other choice is there"?...to quote Range Rover Lots of choices I would think...Jones, Clark or Cloke. The thought of these guys playing under Trengove is like Lilley, Marsh and the Chappell's playing under Kim Hughes...actually much worse! Then he goes on about "real change" . What change RR??
  20. Rivo is tireless down back and IMO would easily fit into any other AFL defence. Neeld with his L's experimented with Rivo up forward a bit . This exposed a few flaws. The Guy can defend though. IMO our no 2 defender behind Spud Junior. Mc will be good but give him time to develop otherwise you'll only find yourselves bagging out on him early next year. Mc's still quite a way off Premo. Range Rover writes a load of complete Rot! One day we should lock him up in the Melbourne Change Rooms and broadcast the sheer shite he continually writes about the Guys. Garlo and Sellar are serviceable but not in Rivers class as a defender.
  21. So Oli's upset LJ's going to SA to be with his family...such sorrow Oli:) You'll get over it matey! I do agree with you on the Col Sylvia one. They like to go hard on him.
  22. Who is Rude Boy? He sounds a bit sus!
  23. Soldee What "should not be tolerated" are these anti Sylvia threads. He along with Clark and Jones are our best players and all three match winners. To get back to the stage he has this year after some absolute shocking injuries in phenomenal! Get off his case! Same goes for new boy Gysberts. Quote about Gysberts....:“He had a syndesmosis injury in the ankle, which kept him out for a long time early [in the season] and then he came back from a broken jaw, so he’s just starting to string together some games. Posts to trade these types of guys are crazy and then to listen to the same people blindly backing the Coach . IMO Hypocritical.
