  1. I like the role for Watts not only positioning him for the delivery to the forward but also opening up the forward space for the Clarke Dawes Hogan show. I would prefer Howe to be deep forward at most times for the marking contests that he will provide. Watts will be able to select the best placed forward and deliver it to them in whatever fashion they require. It will be interesting to see some training reports to see who is being matched with who
  2. Good get YD relevant comments and at least you've seen him play puts you way ahead of Barrett on the other thread. Nothing wrong with promoting a friend as long as he can play. I always find your thoughts interesting and never aggressively promoted so keep up the good work
  3. OOPs just suggested Boss dog look for sponsors on his jaunt to the Us (No b$ thread) perhaps we should encourage all dland members who go os to look out for companies with an Australian presence who sponsor teams oversaes but are not represented in the AFL
  4. Have you got time to look for some sponsors?? Just taking in the tv coverage of sports over there you may find an emerging company who may be ready to expand to Australia or a company who has an international presence but is not yet involved in the AFL Have a great time
  5. Hope your views are pointed out to him so he can ensure he surpasses your expectation I am hoping he also adds the intensity required at training to make our prospective youth earn their spot Who knows he may even develop into a decent coach under Roos if his ambition is correctly identified
  6. It would seem that we know what we have with manger Can't understand why he wasn't given a run as all above state Would like roos to at least consider and communicate any action While he seems to have similar characteristics to cross could learn and improve and provide a valuable backup
  7. I think the problem for you and all Melb Dlanders is that we have exhibited too many restrictions in previous actions to be eligible for the "unrestricted trade period".
  8. Great response BUT Where the heck is this?? and what does it signify in reality
  9. YD id go with whatever you think is appropriate trying to get consensus is like the horse designed by a committee. There will be critics of whatever you do but I have enjoyed many of your contributions to date and look forward to your expression rather than something modified by others Theres certainly plenty of help offered here but its also relative to the actual vision and you cant help but admire the passion of Dlanders. Too many great suggestions and too much music to select just one may need a compilation. Looking forward to an inspirational outcome.
  10. Would need to be a recognised govt approved offset training program Could incorporate acclimatisation training in the mines and additional Northern Territory presence as part of subsidised partnership bonus. May also need some rehabilitation and education outcomes to achieve the philanthropic nature of his give aways.
  11. Not sure! Can he get the ball and kick it or hand pass??? Hed certainly be able to run and spread
  12. Its great that you blokes are keeping your finger on the pulse even when away with that sort of dedication explained to our players their efforts and intensity may improve. Get the job done over there(nuptials)and return refreshed and renewed to get the list sorted out. Dont care how many poms yanks or refugees you source as long as they add balance to the list. Await return with anticipation Oh and do enjoy the vicarious tourist role provided from your outlines keep up the good work thanks
  13. How about we get Cross and Chapman tell Shiel he will be working with the best to take over from them with Jones and Viney to support him They can all develope their delivery skills pumping the ball all day down to Clarke Dawes Hogan and Howe He can join Watts and Trengove as high draft picks in the premier team of the future and leave his mark Perhaps we could get P roos to present the message with an indicator of the sort of club culture that will be developed Heck he can have even choose wether or not to wear the blazer
  14. Have we stumbled on the faceless men behind the dees While RL and WJ are taking an extensive wedding break all trading done by MFC ceases We can only wait to see the expenses claim for this wedding when the signed forms for the internationalised Demon recruits are lodged and amid a flurry of reporters their feet hit the tarmac at Melbourne Keep it under wraps with coded talk of bananas while letting the mainstream press divert itself with imaginings of Buddys contract The next headline Melbourne surprises with foreign legion tipped to take flag
  15. would like to see both Cross and Chapman to add strength and experience to squad
  16. Sorry got carried away and diverted in the last post Fitzzy can back up any of the structure being both a marking and agile forward but can add to the flanker winger link role as when I have seen him he seems to have the capacity to cover ground and make space. If the above forward mid structure is on the ground Fitzy may find he is matched with a lower order defender which would give hima great advantage He may need to work on his delivery as it would be disapointing if he failed to score from a positive attack
  17. If we can get them all on the park at the one time with some clear plans and strategies for the team to play too we should be a problem for any team to match up. Clarke at FF leads strongly and makes space as an agile forward option Howe deep in forward pocket I know he is agile and mobile but his marking sets him aside as a deep marking option Dawes and Hogan as twin post HFF with one going to boundary and one at CHF DAwes plays defensively and from what Ive seen of Hogan on few televised games he also was defensive These blokes all make space and are all agile but still leaves a spot for a couple of smaller crumbers rotating through the centre and adding to mid field pressure Again good defensive structures and player use can mean that mids dont have to expend energy running deep and can set up short defensive zone to assist our very solid and reliable defense which has been forced to do too much defending As most posters acknowledge we need mids to pump the ball into a very talented forward line Watts has shown he can be both defensive and offensive and with his delivery skills could feed any of the above options while playing a significant link on the wing Toumpas who plays taller than he seems can do the same on the other wing Im excited to see who we add to the list and how Roos uses the talent we have and the supporting cast we have Kent Clisby Terlich Trengove etc I reckon its a great squad with plenty of options getting them confident and playing to their ability is the trick Im looking forward to GO DEEES
  18. How about the Darcy Byrne Jones who features mid table of top 10 in nearly all?
  19. YD you've done it again That is an amazing picture (cant believe its a photo) could be shown to all players as an updated example of the little engine that could. Just hope can survive the landing
  20. Looks like you would need to interview and maybe recruit his girlfriend as well. But that might not be a bad thing if it can get him continuing to concentrate on self development
  21. Willo was the one I was thinking of Not a bad standard to set
  22. Have Jack develop his own history in 7 and challenge a newcomer to live up to and outdo previous wearers of 12 2 hard at it ball getters challenging each other to make their mark in the club records. I think there's been some pretty useful No7's as well
  23. She certainly seems to have a great history. Should have plenty to offer the MFC
  24. I think he said he still has a desire to play It should be easy to channel that desire into a lets show em that you were right and focus on playing and teaching the next generation That challenge can pay huge dividends. But Hey to work that out needs some pretty intensive recruitment interviews and rigorous personnel management so I trust the club PJ and PR to make some sound decisions.
  25. maybe could benefit with a Chapman model at the club??
