Good to see Tony staying out of the limelight and leaving Kevin Andrews to announce another review. Was this the team that Tony said was ready for government??

Do we have a Dland member from NT who could liase with the club and get reimbursed for reasonable expenses get his hands on a BBQ and find a location where dlanders could meet near the ground. If numbers were known you wouldnt have to lose any money on the snags and onions. I do love the Kakadu option and wonder how doable that would be to arrange and what numbers needed. again perhaps any Dlander member could advise a contact up there. Yeah a great opportunity for promotion of the territory for some NT tour operator I would have thought.

Demons' Jack Watts ready to take on the elite
dpositive replied to Romey's topic in Melbourne Demons
I also agree in a perverse sort of a way When I watch I see him hesitating after his initial instinctive action has been unsupported by those around him he makes position in space but our players were unable to get the ball too him. He collects ball but no one was running past to take his initial handpass or there was no-one leading to a vacant spot. He was often tackled as he "was thinking" but it was probably more on the line of WTF do I do now He hesitates tackling as he knows that takes him out of the play when the ball comes out but it usually did not come out directed to him as it was the opposition or our players delivery was poor. I hope that improved players, improved skills and improved coaches instructions will see JW involved more in the play where his instinctive actions are better used. But I also agree that a lot of this is a mental approach and I hope he confirms the confidence he is talking at the moment to set himself some high performance standards that he meets. -
So the averages your looking at are the team average over the teams games or the average of our team over all AFL team game. One team average could be inflated by large scores against 3 teams it doesnt mean that you can deduct the same amount against those teams unless they lose all games by a large margin Sorry to be a pain but I didnt do maths 101 and cant see the logic in the argument of increasing our score automatically means a lowering of our opponents even on average unless the total average is the seasons AFL and any increase in our average will move us up the ladder. I think I would prefer we just beat as many teams as we can by as much as we can and let the average work itself out.

Demons' Jack Watts ready to take on the elite
dpositive replied to Romey's topic in Melbourne Demons
He may not be the crash and bash KPF that many wanted and he may not even play mid as many want But he is really making a declaration. Roos is who he must satisfy and that will be good enough for me. Good on him -
Thanks for all the comment which continues to express the polarised positions our politicians have created . I did not support the Children overboard claims I did not support the Rudd Gillard actions and I do not support the current governments actions. Yes there are millions of refugees all trying to leave countries which have a combination of home grown despots and imported machineries of war. Guns and weapons are supplied by developed countries and exploitation is usually a reason.religious zealots do little to practice peaceful means of conversion and prefer domination and eradication. Population explosion is an outcome as life expectancy is tenuous. Migrants are desperate. Not all are persecuted. some have paid to improve their life and many have been instructed to destroy their past and have trained responses. Perhaps as advanced developed countries we could assist by easing problems, decrease armaments and import farm machinery and practices instead, improve health and education and teach some sustainable practices. It might help if we developed and practised a few of those ourselves. Meanwhile we could help process migrants more humanely and effectively and while identifying them provide some training and encouragement to return to their countries with new skills and an enlightened understanding. There is so much more to this situation and the answers are not at the extremes but somewhere in the middle. I sense that understanding is even happening on these pages and look forward to the continuing debate where there is recognition of points on both sides.

Just an update I notice that Tony hasnt been reported lately went to france for skiing holiday and I havent seen him since but the country has been left in the hands of Warren truss of the mandate party who has managed to continue the main policy of saying nothing and referencing it to the unknown policies and particularly avoiding any local comment. good work ! Meanwhile Robb has been quoted at an American convention as stating how well this countries economy is. Ok os just dont let the locals know. OECD and economists are already wondering what the economic audit will find given that it hasnt even got the terms of reference correct. Theres a degree of uncertainty about the medical charge but that will be sorted out by Joe and Tony on his return unfortunately cory hasnt written another book so the party cant display its democratic structure where it can accommodate so many divergent views, better to leave that to the faceless man and the factions of that Labour mob

We the great unwashed will not know until the board of review advises the minister who may decide that it an operational matter and will advise us that accordingly.

If you thought Abbott and Costello was a comedy team you can see we are flooding the market. was it just me or did anyone else delight in the morrison and the general show today. We apologized for inadvertently breaching our sovereign borders policy. Its a pity our navy doesnt know where our boats are so keep a look out and help the board of review who will let us know shortly. We did not fire any shots in pursuit of our sovereign borders policy, not even inadvertently or at least no board of review has needed to be established so thats good. We are determined to send a message to the people smugglers and put them out of business by pursuing our stop the boats policies. We may know where the boats are under this policy and we may have fired some shots under this policy but we havent had a board of review tell us yet.

Ok I'll bite . You cant just leave me sweating on this as well. -
Not sure I can understand this it seems to be stated on the basis that if my head is in the oven and my feet are in the stove on average I am comfortable. An average is an expression of a range of data calculated to an average. For some analysis outliers are excluded as they incorrectly affect an average. Averages are indicators and do not reflect actuality. It does not stand to reason that if we increase our average to 14 then our opponent drops to 14 we may increase our average by one game where we increase our total by 20. Our opponents may drop their average by one game where they lose by 2. while the average may have some relativity over the total season which was where you started it does not have any impact on the games won and lost.

I am now awaiting the next instalment from tony and the team christopher pyne and the education reveiw Morrison and the migrants hunts response to the latest climate change comments. Its a good thing I'm relaxed and comfortable secure in the knowledge that he has a mandate

Thanks for so many great shots if a pictures worth a thousand words you have just provided a novel. as the worlds worst photographer I am in awe of the clarity and structure of nearly all your shots. Can almost feel the intensity in some of those action shots and great continuity in some of the sequences. I hope the boys can deliver the goods as well as you have delivered here. -
Well not quite right I think. Not All the members money goes to the labour party. While it would seem unlikely to go to the Libs just that part that is designated by the members to pursue their political advantage will be given. The ETU (a union) does support parties other than Labour, Sorry the heat affects you and certainly dont want to indulge in an argument for the sake of it either so as I said best to leave it
-
Probably time to let this one go RF as the libs and the labour party through the Industrial relations reforms and individual contract processes have made unionism almost irrelevant in the workforce on a numerical basis. There are still some pockets of higher membership proportions but I havent seen any representation figures greater than 40 odd per cent. While the union may support the party their members still vote independently.

Thanks Yoko and all other reporters. How was Watts today Is he still showing the skills under the more intense pressure all seem to be describing. Is he showing any signs of distress through heat and that intensity. is he contributing through tackling blocking, the Harder defensive stuff, is he being an effective outside contributor. -
Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>

Gee Dees that's a pretty dismissive response to my admittedly speculative comment and while I agree with your follow up which was a little more descriptive, 'And because there is a prima facie case to suggest they neglected their director duties which requires them to protect the health of their employees, Worksafe and the ACC will become involved and there may well be criminal prosecutions from worksafe, and prosecutions of directors for not fulfilling their professional obligations. The penalties are these days severe for Directors who do fulfill their professional obligations. Don't be surprised if we see some of the most powerful names in the AFL ending up in the dock." I fail to see how your comment is less speculative than mine. I will however do it more justice than calling it nonsense. In support of my point I note that several players are close to retirement Hird himself may never return to the game despite his lucrative retainer, I think several of the committee have retired, the weapon and dnks seem to to have disappeared down some crevasse. If your speculation is correct these people charged and prosecuted may all be well distanced from the AFL system If the purpose of the actions is to remove these practices from sports the publicity may well already have had that effect I do believe that it could have and should have a more direct punitive impact on the perpetrators which was the subject of my very brief comment I could have and am willing to provide greater detail if required in order to gain your approval for my comment -

The only unfortunate part of that rigour is that by the time all info is available the perpetrators may no longer be in the system. -
Dont drink as much as in past life but still enjoy most beer and wines. Never a big spirit drinker. Over Xmas had a very xpensive Riddoch's NZ Gammay probably one of the nicest wines of my life. Friend brought it and believe about$80 but worth it. On the other hand I have found Bulls Paddock Sangiovese/ shiraz amongst one of the most interesting local products at a very good price $20 for me. Of course we have the Beechworth Brewery range of Beers I have found the Celtic Ale good for my knees, dont know how that works but if drunk pre tennis knees dont hurt the next day???go figure. Also we have some local Ciders and a very nice Beechworth honey and ginger light weight sparkling and great for an unsettled stomach. we also have the luxury of the Milawa squash club membership which contains a number of wine makers on the list so we have plenty of sampling and finally with my mate Michel Renoux we are often challenged to sample an array of local and international wines just to keep the palate tuned. Its a hard life up here and we dont get out much any more.

Thanks Redleg not a big punter myself but mentioned Smart Al to my old man who follows the horses or as he says the horses he follows follow horses. He just called to say Smart Al pretty smart carried his $1 to a win (Of course now wishes we had all put more on it. I had to tell him I had forgotten all about it)and he's hoping that this success can rub off on the Dees . Hes having a good run as got an outsider yesterday that payed $70 which was the reason he expanded his betting range. He did say Al had a good jockey and looked OK. Will take us a bit more seriously now though unlikely to change from supporting the Saints.

Dees2014 Great ideas I would have liked to see your other ideas as if they are as cogent as these they should be adopted as quickly as possible. I wonder if they got before PJ and if not may be time to introduce them. If you ever come to Beechworth I would be happy to talk with you about progressive marketing -
Time Trials - Friday 10th January, 2014
dpositive replied to jayceebee31's topic in Melbourne Demons
Could be an interesting warm down run through the city after the trials. Good publicity and reminiscent of Lou Richards comments of weaving through the pedestrians as part of his training routines, althoug OHS regs would probably restrain any such venture.
