Bombers scandal: charged, <redacted> and <infracted>
dpositive replied to Jonesbag's topic in Melbourne Demons
I find it very interesting that Wylie had "personal" discussions as friend with fitz and Little If it looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, its probably a duck. It sure looks like collusion and a direct conflict of interest If it was an official discussion there would have been greater scrutiny of what was said. It looks like a cover up and sounds like a cover up. could it be???? -
Love your work BB plenty of laughs there

The role of leader is critical in any group and is a position which requires careful and considered analysis. A leader will usually emerge in any group as a response to the situation With PJ leading the club (administration) and PR leading the club (football) we already have a couple of leaders who emerged for those defined roles. We now need to define the role of the playing leader and see who emerges. There may well be a number of roles communication, inspiration, which we as supporters see as necessary but it may well be other attributes that the players themselves define. If the players leader meets the football and club leaders requirements they will be supported. I hope we find a leader who will take the team to the flag dont care necessarily who but probably care how. perhaps many leaders emerge was Matthews th only leader at Hawthorn or were Ayres Dipper dunstall and Brereton leaders at times? I am sure that PJ PR and the clubs advisers are aware of what is needed and will make the correct decision. But then again I thought that with the whole Neeld package and look how that ended. Have much more hope in PR to get it right will watch with interest without agonising over it. I will support whoever is annointed and support every member of the team. Have done for so long I can forgive all mistakes. Defeat has been character building for me but I dont recommend it for everyone.

You probably do need to see front and back of all jumpers to see where any "clash" occurs. but great job BB
-
I did admit that your argument added to the information of an informed decision and also appreciate BB's efforts I would be interested in Maccas thoughts as the originator of the thread and anticipate further comments from other contributors But as others have also stated this is not the highest priority will monitor with interest
-
Thanks BB You do a great job with this newfangled technology Doesnt look so terrible to me and does match the words of the song Would like to hear Eddies response to that which is where I started Now to figure out who that would clash with
-
Yeah thanks
-
hey bb how about the red V and blue jumper and the blue V and red jumper that others say would look terrible? Thanks
-
Thanks Macca I also believe in majority rules but prefer when it is an informed decision with all details known Your suggestion has certainly opened up the information. I had no idea about the "traditional" white I just cant get over the contradiction with the song and the similarity of dogs saints and our jumpers on the telly. When we start winning and are on the screen more this may be obvious to the AFL or maybe they are trying to homogenise all jumpers so whoever plays the black and whites the blues or the black and red's are seen as a familiar team to those supporters. Think Ill give up now as Im begginning to frighten and confuse myself
-
I do agree that we are looking for the most acceptable abomination. Dont know if the reversal looks terrible which was why I appealed for a look at it. and to analyse how many times the actual clash jumper would be worn Hoping that the theme song would be sung whichever jumper we wear and be recognisable as the team singing the song
-
further having seen BB,s work it can be done without the white. just need to analyse the "Clash" argument.
-
Macca Not sure if you have the technology know how I havent Collingwood ( Eddie) had the brilliant answer that our jumper colour is black with a white stripe and our clash colour is white with a black stripe How about ours being blue with a red V and clash Red with a blue V would at least save the clash with the theme song. Sorry to drag you back into the discussion, but you did start it with a (I thought reasonable) proposition.
-
I have tried to resist but with no like button feeling compelled to indicate my support for many of the arguments I would place foremost Maccas attempts to placate many of objections and his reasonable submission I would further like to see him prepare a submission to the club for presentation to the AFL Like him I believe there are powerful reasons to argue for our red and blue (consider the theme song being belted out on national TV when we win in the white strip. A striking conflict? The AFL may have forgotten that this can happen) and I believe that the AFL are also about asthetics and will understand that contrast can occur with red and blue with no white required. And if we can show that as we win our increasing support base will continue to buy greater numbers of jumpers the economics can be satisfied.

Thanks t-u and D2014 both of you have contributed to an engaging discussion which while maybe not providing the ultimate decision has certainly assisted my understanding. All done without serious rancour or personal swipes (unlike many discussions on other issues) I appreciate the time you have and are taking in presenting the information you have I will look forward to following the proceedings and your erudite comments on them. -

Thats all great work thanks The pic if Cross and Barry says a lot the muscle definition on Cross is fantastic while Barry has a model of what he will need -

would hope that Hogan starts rnd 1 against a depleted and hopefully confused saints. He has played at Casey all season and showed that he can compete admirably at that level so is facing a different debut to Watts. Hopefully surrounded by Clarke Dawes and more hardened and experienced players he may get some support if required. The Watts debut was most noticeable for the treatment he received not being returned or even recognised by his teammates. He was continually double and even triple teamed and mobbed as his teammates avoided any retalaitory action and played with very subdued vigour. Maybe my memory has dimmed with age but that was the most disturbing feature of his debut . The coaching was obviously negligent and that has now been addressed . I am hoping Roos the experienced coach will prepare and structure the team to get the best out of our squad not just rnd 1 but all season. -

not only good to see Roos in amongst the players as teaching but also close and appraising , But, best of all was the satisfaction apparent on his face when with Stone and Rawlings. That smile says more to me than anything. -

Thanks to all who not only go and look but then take time to give us their impression. I appreciate that it is their opinion from a marginal knowledge base but it certainly adds to mine. Being closer to the action certainly provides a better perspective than relying on media which has too many other often conflicting perspectives. It is great that Dees supporters give us all a better insight to the developments at our club keep it up and GO DEES -

the top 100 companies list in the age is interesting reading Dont know if any DLanders have any influence or contacts through them Maybe someone at the club could trawl through the list to find some emerging company big enough to afford a sponsorship and new enough to begin to want exposure Surely the perception of the club as the big money big end of town could help attract some of these companies get on board a resurgent Demons I appreciate that some companies dont want to segment their market by being identified as one club only however I did notice that There are 2 health providers sonic health and primary health care who may see some synergies with exposure. Can have positive growth benefits as QBE did with Sydney in the leaduop to the premiership years paying off when got to top. I dont think banks have any exposure although I have seen their logos on other sports telecast from Overseas. Mining cos dont have any need to advertise to the market perhaps other than capital raising investors Is that us???. Harvey Norman I dont think sponsor any AFL team -
Oh meant to say one leader Roos with functional groups as you are suggesting perhaps the leadership group members select the captain. One of my most respected leaders had a theory that leaders emerged and we found that consistently in practice.
-
Your suggestion looks good From My Human Resources background I evidence your "chain of command" appears based on Roman army centurion structures very relevant and still maintained in armies I believe There have been many manpower structures used in various industries and countries over time with varying success. The latest to my knowledge are matrix structures which allow and in fact promote autonomy with communicated interaction. I once presented a paper on "Chaos Theory Human Resources in action" as a response to organisational structural change "flat structures" which were the order of the day (remember Jeff Kennett and Chainsaw Dunlap) Chaos theory which is a mathematical theory which is used in analysiis of everything from natural environments to Financial markets comes out at abot 3.4 something as the naturally recurring figure I proposed and saw demonstrated many times that small groups formed naturally and acted independently and effectively. Organisations I worked in encouraged this natural formation with an emphasis on clear consistent communication to ensure organisational direction was achieved. Never got to develop the practice or analyse fully due to many reasons but I still think it is an appropriate structure, certainly as good as many others proposed. It is certainly a proven theory.
