  1. Yep, we are struggling old son and that is an understatement.
  2. I agree with what you have on the table for Boyd but if we get the pick I would keep him and trade off a couple of our others.
  3. ...not sure about that 'Young Dee', he's had 3 good games now. He does have the size and class to play AFL, I would rather see him than putting up the usual suspects who have let us down in the past. Tynan is another who should be looked at, he will give everything he has, a gutsy kid that one.
  4. The club was 'wyl', now it is in a holding pattern until new appointments can be made. Thought we might get through the rest of the year with some reasonable efforts but it's not going to happen. Again the most important part of our year will be September/October for the wrong reasons, new board, new coach, FD boss and list changes.
  5. Want to see Taggert this week, it's about time for him now.
  6. I would take Boyd then trade on 1 or 2 of our other forwards. He won't need a lot of development time, similar to Hogan he will produce results that would be superior to what we have now in his first year. Frawley, Garland and Jones would be just about the only non tradeables we have apart from the kids like Viney in their first year or two. All bets are off with everyone else.
  7. I fully understand where you were coming from 'P_Man' and why, but it's hard to watch a performance like the game today and see where the improvement is coming from without assistance. Even with assistance its going to be a hard journey. I must admit I didn't think the list was this bad either, 'old dee' was on the money there.
  8. Time for Taggert to have a run.
  9. Shows great discipline that you haven't already 'Robbie', maybe the players could take something out of your book.
  10. Some of this stuff has been coached out of the players. Toumpas kicked these goals in the SANFL and didn't think twice about it.

    GAME DAY

I don't know how many times I've seen Pedersen just jogging around in defence with no urgency at all. Good VFL player, leave him there.
  12. I guess that's why he played his best game for us when we were well on top of Geelong??? Look it is a long way to go for him, we all know that. Give him some time to prove himself or not whatever the case will be, Ricciuto reckons he will be a gun and that's enough for me at the moment.
  13. I understand what you are saying but it didn't stop him racking up the possies when played there in the development side. I just hope he is seen as a long term player and is kept on the list so we can see the player you are talking about next year.
  14. I think the Neitz comparison is not a bad one but Essendon do have the luxury of playing Hurley back now, we didn't with Neitz. I think both of them were/are better defenders. Neitz may have been one of the great CHB's but unfortunately we will never know.
  15. Yep, you could be right with this. I forgot about McDonald, Frawley may well go to Thomas, I'm not sure any of the others will have the footy smarts to go with him.
  16. Frawley has to take the best, in this case Petrie. We don't have the luxury to use Frawley as an attacking back and Pederson would get taken apart by Petrie. Davis would have been a good match for either Tarrant or Black but now Pederson will get one and Dunn the other.
  17. ...and there's part of the problem. They are taking the midfield places where Taggert should be played, at the moment he is sitting at half forward with a very occasional run as a mid. If Couch and Magner are not in serious contention for a senior berth then Taggert should be played there but maybe this is a problem of not having a stand alone team in the VFL.
  18. No not facts, Jimmy had an ok GF and probably kicked the goal of the day but was not BOG. The only fact is that this stuff is all in the past and it's what happens from now on that will matter. I was wrapped that we picked him up and I think he will be a very good footballer as a minimum.
  19. He's not a spec pick and can play; but will he, that's the question.
  20. They're playing him out of position for one and he had some wisdom teeth removed recently that held him back a little.
  21. Another good game on the weekend and he will be up and about. Would really like to see him up at senior level as he is one of the better kicks at the club and he has a good size about him.
  22. Not watching to closely I would have thought.
  23. ...plus our record at docklands doesn't inspire any confidence.
  24. Thanks 'old dee', that is good news. He should have all the pieces in place before he leaves, well done PJ.
  25. There's nothing particularly new in the papers for me, my opinion all along has been that Essendon had information that led to them predating the ACC press conference. Whether it came from AD or not it's a fair chance he gave enough information for them to draw their own conclusion. Funnily enough I was telling a couple of mates this in separate conversations the day before it blew up in the media so my view is not coloured by the reporting but it may be by my preconceptions that I don't trust Hird, Evans or the Essendon FC. Their press conference always looked a bit suspect to me. I have also believed there were no rogue elements involved at the club and the responsible people knew what was happening and endorsed it but lets wait and see what comes of the ASADA investigation. Personally I think the club and players are in trouble.
