I think we'll see him this week. 2 games, Dawes played none. I think it will be at the expense of Jetta or maybe Terlich.

Good point 'stuie'.

A quick browse through after getting home from the game. A lot of Watts negative posts and it wasn't a good game from Jack. The thing that really concerned me and I'm sure it will the coaching dept. was a few of times he was in contested marking situations with Prestia...Watts 196cm Prestia 175cm and Prestia managed to get the ball to ground each time. Jack needs to take those grabs. If Salem is in good form he needs to come up and play some senior footy. We need a good lefty. Garland should be the first player named for next week. He is really missed with Frawley playing forward.

This is where the loss of Clark hurts again, he was the logical 2nd ruck and Roos planned to play him there. Fitz is not strong enough in the position and at the moment also not good enough to hold a forward post. The off season will see us looking for a developed ruckman struggling for a consistent game. Looking West would be my bet.

Jack Trengove out for year with navicular fracture
rjay replied to Arrow's topic in Melbourne Demons
No moral high ground, no pedantry or ignorance. All I'm stating is I would not feel comfortable if I was the patient. By the way my poor wording on we all do was not meant to say we all think you made a mistake it was that we all make them. Obviously you don't think so and others including our lawyers don't. -
Also need to look for one of the class young rucks in WA not yet established and throw a bit of cash at them. A bit like Mumford at Geelong.
-
Been saying this since we picked him up, a great get and will be one of the top mids in the comp in the next few years. Not doing bad for 17 games.
-
N Jones (pick 12) and Tyson (pick 3) were both first round draft picks.
-
Would rather Tony Lockett. Because we have had such a poor midfield I can understand where you are coming from but with Tyson and Viney led by Jones, Vince and Cross...Salem to come, yes we are on our way. With half reasonable drafting from here on we will top that list up, it's the really good talls that are hard to get. This draft offers some good prospects.

I like to call him other things.

As is his right and it can be repeated if it's on a public forum. I'm not comfortable with a treating professional giving his take on it though without permission. I think you have made a mistake here 'Webber' , we all do. Lets move on. -
We will need another couple of good talls. This draft will provide, the midfield is on the way and we will add more to it.

Plowman looks good. Pick 4 and pick 9????

Do we only get the one game again 'Jack'?

Brett Kirk - Roos' successor?
rjay replied to The Song Formerly Known As's topic in Melbourne Demons
No, his biggest failing was people management. The fiasco you talk about is tied in with it, he wouldn't take advice. The ego got in the way, and apart from that I don't find him a deep enough thinker of the game. I wouldn't like to see him at Melbourne. -

Not just the game 'Sat' it appears to be the modern world and as you know it's not just kids. As for Tyson, I was happy for us to pick him up and he hasn't let me down. Will be a champ. -
The only ones I really take notice of are coaches just out of the game and some current coaches when being candid which is not often. They have a better handle on it than players and the older coaches like Mathews and the like have been out of it too long and are either guessing like you or I, or because they have a platform make controversial statements to keep the platform.

Oh well...that's the way it goes. Tyson looks a future Brownlow chance to me. Looks like it could be at this early stage. -

Pretty good compliment for a kid lining up in his 17th AFL game. -
Mackie and Enright bring height and aerial ability to the game. JT is very weak in this area, if you don't have pace then you need to have other aspects.

Who cares? when leaders needed to step up on Saturday Jones and Grimes stepped up. Anyone at Carlton???Murphy???Gibbs??? anyone....
-
It says he never had the talent many thought he had to play league football.
-
I think that's a pretty good summation.

Early call on other early calls. This season will tell the tale.

Tyson is probably leading our B&F at the moment so I reckon he is going ok.
