It hasn't worked before, all of these type of ideas have been circulated in the past by ex players and here on Demonland. Jack just has to get it together, simple statement not so easy to implement.
-
Always find this funny and the fans then think they are getting the next Judd or Ablett and it couldn't be further from the truth.
-
Nah! he just dropped a mark he should have taken. You are writing way too much into it.
-
Geelong were keen to keep Mummy, in the end we have a place available and some cash for the right option.
-
I think Sinclair is a better bet than Lycette but I think the Eagles are still trying to work this one out.
-
Don't agree with you on this one 'stuie', I would be very surprised if we don't have a shot at one of them. Out of our lot Jamar is on the downhill slide, Spencer is Spencer and I like Gawn but he stay on the park long enough to build a base.

'stuie', ''Pennant has named a few on another thread. I agree with him on this, I really like the look of Sinclair at the Eagles. Very athletic and can go forward. there is also Clark and Griffen at Freo. http:///forums/index.php?/topic/36291-players-to-target-at-the-end-of-the-year/page-6 http://demonland.com/forums/index.php?/topic/36291-players-to-target-at-the-end-of-the-year/page-6

I'm not so fussed with Wright but I would like to pick up another KPP at least, particularly if Frawley goes. If we were to give up an early pick it would need to be for real quality though. It will be a bit different to the Tyson/Kelly trade as this time a KPP will be up for grabs and that is worth a lot to a club like Carlton, Adelaide, St Kilda, Brisbane(although they will be at the pointy end anyway), Footscray and maybe Collingwood. Would these clubs give up Sloane or Beams for a KPP chance. I'm 100% with you on picking up a ruckman and chances are it will be one of the guys in WA, be very surprised if the club is not all over this.

Thanks 'Sat', that's a pretty good summation. I feel for Tap, he just hasn't been able to have a good run at it and looked so promising in his first games.
-
Yes, that would be a better outcome but I'm not holding my breath on that unless we can get Garland and Hogan off the injury list.
-
McLaughlin did seem to be favourable to a PP for us last year from memory so hopefully he backs it up this year.
-
Like the look of McCartin myself, if we end up with a couple of early picks him and Goddard would be good choices. A lot will depend on Frawley and a PP pick.
-
If you're saying it 'Sat' as a players man then they really do need to pull the finger out. How do you see 'Nicho'? I know he gets a lot of knocks on his disposal and decision making (and there are good grounds for this) but maybe pushing for selection with some solid form. My read is if he steps up and doesn't deliver he may be on the way out as well, Evans is another that hasn't taken his chances yet.

I think you are right. We may not win on the injury reports (and these can be difficult) but at least we're getting good information on the Casey team now.
-
Agree with you and would think if the season keeps going as it is then we would be a walk up start for a priority pick. Particularly after last years Port argument seems to be well unfounded, we don't have the list Port does to do the amazing turnaround. That was a total furphy.

Made the same mistake 'rpfc', and for the same reasons. I think that is a pretty good explanation 'Machsy', works for me.

Players to target at the end of the year
rjay replied to JackVineyForPresident's topic in Melbourne Demons
I think he would be worth chasing, looks pretty athletic and it would be good to have a ruckman who could add to the midfield rather than be a liability. -
No he won't and as I said the other night, Roos doesn't need to make a statement like Neeld seemed to by dragging and dropping Watts. He will go about his business in the way he see's fit.
-
Think you are right 'old dee', a few had their chance to put the hand up at Casey on Sunday and don't seem to want a promotion or as you say are just not good enough.
-
Ahhh....my mistake, I just remember the lack of reaction in the Carlton game. Sorry for the mix up.
-
Wouldn't be quick enough to go with him would be my opinion. Who is??? that's the big question.
-
I think they have a pretty good idea themselves, that's why we brought in an experienced group. They don't need Port as a case study, they know what has to be done.
-
He was known as a bit of a sook at Hawthorn when they did boxing training.
-
I think you are right, they are just so obvious that you cringe but it clouds a lot of his good work. If he gets dropped it won't be because of clangers it would be more likely defensive positioning. Roos didn't look happy about him letting McGlinn out for an easy... As for his overall kicking, he is trusted with some of the kick in duties so the FD must rate him.
-
No I think the coaches would have been delighted with both reactions. JKH burnt Dawesy when he kicked his, it went against the team ethos that is being drilled into the players. He knew it and the other players knew it. As a side note to that I reckon Dawes burnt JKH at one stage on Saturday night and he didn't end it with a goal either.
