  1. He's a beauty. Like Thompson, clever big man played out of position in the ruck and acquitted himself well. Will be an AA defender in the next few years, can we get him???
  2. Ablett just rag dolls him whenever he feels like it. Played within himself in the first half, now for the Brownlow votes in the 2nd.
  3. A really good game and showed he can go inside and out which all the good ones can. Will have a very good career this kid.
  4. ...because at the moment he is one bad game away from the WAFL. Very much an outside player who struggles to get his own ball. Not what we need.
  5. I don't think Roos would have picked him if he wasn't ready but I didn't expect to see him yet either 'steve'. I'm really looking forward to seeing him at the level, some of his contemporaries, Aish (really good yesterday), Billings & Dunstan for a few have been showing some good form so there's no reason Salem won't.
  6. Not sticking up for Neeld 'stuie', I think he handled the whole thing including Moloney poorly but I was never a fan. I always thought he was a dumb footballer. He got the best out of himself and we probably got his best but I'm happy he is not at the MFC and is someone else's problem as is that other dumb footballer Col Silvia.
  7. The Dragons I think, in the under 18 comp.
  8. I've seen Jaskch play and he doesn't impress me and pick 2 for O'Rourke is overs. The Tyson trade worked because we still got Salem who apparently we rated. Tyson had also played some good senior football picking up a rising star nomination, injury being the only thing that held him up. O'Rourke is nowhere near this yet. I'm not saying O'Rourke won't be good but I am saying that there in no way known he is worth pick 2. Besides this if we had 2 picks in the top few I would still be taking a couple of the talls on offer or think of giving one up for a quality mid from a desperate team, but it would have to be for an A grader. The dogs would have to give up Griffen, Carlton, Murphy, Collingwood, Beams...you get my drift. In other words we would keep the pick.
  9. I'm looking forward to watching Salem. I hope he gets a start and isn't the sub.
  10. Nup! and yes it's my opinion.
  11. No, our best result is to use pick 2 if we have it on a KPP in the draft.
  12. Neither can get a game with GWS, hardly worth picks 2 & 20.
  13. I think you are right and Cross is enough for us. We need to keep places open for developing players, it's good to have a senior player like Cross in the mix, 2 would be to many.
  14. You won't have found me saying he's soft anywhere on this forum, in fact you won't find me saying anyone that plays AFL is soft. You will see that I have been disappointed in his output to date and expected a bit more from him after seeing some of his SA senior football. I have been surprised at how he has been pushed out of the contest way too easily. He needs to address this before he will make an impact at AFL level. I've also been disappointed in his kicking, which is his strength. A lot of his kicks have been dinky give and gets, he is a much better kick than this and I'm sure he will use this kicking weapon better with more experience and good coaching.
  15. He's definitely an outside player at the moment and needs to develop an inside game, that's code for get his own ball.
  16. Devils advocate here but maybe that's why he's playing forward.
  17. Not sure who you're having a go at here mate but all I can see in your post is that you've cut and pasted bits and pieces. My post was this. ...and I stand by it. Getting your head knocked off backing into a pack does not prove you are an inside player and Jimmy T is not.
  18. Problem is with injury. We don't get him on the ground.
  19. If Salem is handled the correct way, and I'm sure he will be. When he comes up he will be ready and I'd be very surprised to see him back at Casey after that with the exception of coming back from injury. They won't bring him up for a taste and if he needs a breather he will get a week off.
  20. He is. At the moment he doesn't have the strength or know how to get the inside hard ball, he gets knocked off it too easily. Getting your head knocked off twice backing into a marking contest doesn't make you an inside player, it just gets your head knocked off.
  21. I think from the club point of view JKH did a pretty full pre season and had a good game against the Tiges. Salem was battling health problems and had a modified pre, it's more than learning the ropes. I really want to see him at AFL level but I think the FD are handling things better than in the past, we will see him I'm sure. When??? Maybe it's this week, maybe we will have to wait a bit longer.
  22. Yep, must admit I'm totally sick of this dropping the ball and throwing it. If they want to stop the scrums enforce correct disposal for a start. If you have no prior opportunity then hold on to the ball and it is a ball up, forget the ridiculous acting. If you lose the ball (don't dispose of it correctly) then it's a free against, if the ball is stripped (which is what coaches will instruct players to do if this is the rule) then a free against the player stripping the ball. Simple.
