  1. They won't do it in 2 years, time to commit or we're gone...
  2. That FD was sacked. As for Matt, he gets to the ball a lot, he consistently fumbles his first touch, often gets pushed off the ball, disposal and decision making hit or miss and can't stick a tackle. I'm not knocking him, he works hard but is a good VFL level player. Agee 'P-man', the Watts/NikNat argument is done and I would say so is Toumpas/Wines. We picked the wrong guys.
  3. Goddard, McCartin...trade for a mid and buy one in. Who knows what will happen with Clark???trade with Freo?
  4. I think you are pretty close to the mark here 'P-man'. I would probably push Dunn up into the likelihood category now and maybe Dawes in the suspect with Terlich. Cross would be a yes, gives us 7 at yes.
  5. Good old Dwayne, watching a bit of the game today he keeps on calling Mayes, Paparone and Redden, Aish amongst others.
  6. I call him the Molly Meldrum of football.
  7. They are missing Mummy...will be interesting to see what Tippett brings when he gets back. Pendles was probably the only class player on the ground tonight and that was enough to get them over the line.
  8. As I said the mental side gives is what gives you the edge. There is no doubt about the talent on Port's list. You don't play 200 games of AFL with little or no talent. He might not be the most talented player in the game but he is still a very good footballed as was seen again tonight. I'm not sure what the point on Viney is but give him time, I'm sure he will realise his talent in the long run. St Kilda have their captain, he makes a big difference and there is a core group who only a few years ago played off in GF's. Essendon have been building a list for a while now, they've just done it much better than us. Having Fletcher and Watson doesn't hurt them. Our problem has come from out list (well really mis management at the club but we've been through this a number of times) and this has started to be addressed. Jones has stood up as the sole leader at the club and now he has a bit of help. Sorry, I should also say last season that Col Garland really stood up. I have mixed feelings about Frawley. I understand the club has let him and a lot of the players down but I don't think he is showing the leadership required at the moment. Interesting that other players who have put their clubs on notice Danger and Gibbs have both struggled a bit this year. Rambling a bit here but in our leadership group we have Jones, Grimes (who is yet to prove himself as a player, must show it this year), Garland who is a leader, Frawley who's not sure he wants to be here and Clark who is not here. I don't blame Frawley for having doubts, the club have let everyone down over the last number of years but maybe he could have handled this a bit better. I've said this a few times but I think it's time for Roos and Jackson to commit to at least 3 years as well, as supporters I'm sure we're very uneasy about the short term nature of the assignment and if we are then what's at the back of the players minds.
  9. Don't agree with this at all, I reckon it's 90+% talent and then the mental side will give you the edge. You don't have the talent then all the mental application in the world won't get you there.
  10. ...and maybe a vote if they ever hold an election but 'bing' you need to go into the marketing department. With a proposition like that we will break the 40k ceiling in no time. Our new slogan "A fridge magnet, a scarf and admission to games. Nothing more, Nothing less...
  11. ..and Port kick another goal to put them 30 points up, "the biggest lead of the game"....and kick another one, "the biggest lead of the game". Thanks Dwayne. I'm also a bit worried about Hawthorn's generic football too Bruce. ...as for Taylor, it would be nice if he called the right players for a start. Needs to go back to basics that boy...
  12. The hair? not much else.
  13. Very funny....
  14. You think they might have rated him pick 13 (ended up pick 14 after Goddard compo)? Martin & Hogan cost picks 2 & 3, GWS already had pick 1. Pretty fair chance 13 was the sweetener to lay off Viney.
  15. It may have been part of the Hogan/Viney deal...all things are not always as they seem.
  16. Forgot he was missing last night, Astbury did a good job I thought.
  17. I have said this a few times before but he is not a good match day coach. Again last night he was to late to react when the flow of the game changed and as for coming down to the bench, well it seemed like someone with common sense told him to get back to the box. The side was in panic mode and the coach showed he was as well. They were very lucky to win the game in the end.
  18. Having done my fair share I know you are right here, for me it was always 4. Every time I would tempt the one week early....bang, gone again.
  19. Don't envy you 'Sat', unfortunately true colours shine through in these situations and they're not always pleasant.
  20. He can't keep getting games because he's played more than 100, if it worked that way KB & Tucky would still be in great demand. He's past it and was when we picked him up unfortunately.
  21. Might be wrong but wasn't tapps' hip injury a result of a rogue sprinkler during pre season with us. ...but yes we seem to have a lot of frail players on the list.
  22. I agree with all you say 'Bob'. As for Sunday I was disappointed when I found out a month back that I had to work, now it may be a godsend.
  23. I do blame one of them in particular for the situation we are in 'Jack', don't you worry about that and was cursing him and a few others as I left the ground on Saturday night.
  24. Way too late for that. Everything they do at HQ is measured against, begged, borrowed and stolen from the US.
