  1. Makes us look ok. Freo missing 2 key players and they fall apart. We're missing a forward line and our best defender. ...but yep the Hawks ball movement is good. Hale is really doing a job on big Sandy in the middle, he beats him, nullifies his hit or sharks it and kicks forward.
  2. No 'Jack' don't agree with you at all on this. If he was associating with Dank and experimenting on his own and only on own body then yes. But as you know when more than one person knows, it's not a secret. If players were involved then then it wasn't a secret, the club would have known or other senior people in the club would have known and should have put a stop to it. I would be very surprised if no one else in the FD at a minimum knew about the connection. Does this make us like Essendon? no, it wasn't or doesn't appear to have been systematic but it is a further sign of the appalling administration that has taken our club down. It has been a governance problem.
  3. He's been fumbling and dropping marks. He can't afford to be a 2 touch player. Closer to home, watch Dom Tyson or even better watch some of his own first and 2nd year video.
  4. He never had explosive pace, so I'm not sure what you're judging it on. I remember him being caught by a lumbering ruck man in his SA premiership win.
  5. I can, Tyson is worth the trade already. Salem will be the cream on top or not...Tyson is a good get.
  6. Agree with him 100%...he is a great pick up for the club and he just doesn't talk a good game he follows through with actions.
  7. I reckon that's exactly where he sits at the moment and it's good to have him back in. Adds a bit more to the mids.
  8. I would prefer them to fix the bye. It must have been difficult to get games into injured players and a form line on who should come in when Casey don't start their season until this week.
  9. He sure did.
  10. I thought he was very average.
  11. I would suggest they don't put as much weight in the view of other experts as they should with their own eyes. If anyone remembers the famous Scully/Doggies game where he got 38 odd disposals and Malthouse was rating him the next Judd. If you really watched that game and didn't get caught up in the hype of stats and experts his last quarter where he got most of the ball was really impressive for his running and coverage of the ground but most possessions went nowhere and were turned over. How do you rate that sort of game? depends if you're listening or watching.
  12. Maybe he's smart enough to realise he isn't actually playing his role otherwise he would still be playing. Roos loves role players, Jimmy is not playing his role and is not near ready enough for AFL footy. It won't matter if he dominates at Casey, it will matter that he goes back and works on his deficiencies and that's ok.
  13. That's where stats are useless. Maybe if he had played better and used the ball better up the field our scoring opportunities would have increased by 20% and maybe that is more important.
  14. I think Trengove can still do the harder things and stick tackles, but he is on borrowed time. He is not getting involved enough and is dropping marks or being out positioned in marking contests, one of his previous strengths.
  15. No one gets a vote, it's a commission decision.
  16. We have too many gut running to space, how about running to tackle and stick the tackle, running to get the ball and not fumbling it. I'm not just talking Toumpas here and yes we do need players running to space but it seems to be the excuse for a few players at the moment on this site.
  17. Many do this already with trades, FA was supposed to be about players not in the top tier needing to move clubs for better opportunity or so the spin was when it was being sold. Ball, Judd, Gunstan, Caddy and a bunch of Brissy players last season to name a few had little trouble moving to the club they wanted for the money they wanted within the existing trade system.
  18. Threat and actually carrying it out are 2 different things, you don't roll over on the ambit claim. The AFL did.
  19. ...but it's not and either and or.
  20. See, this is the line I can't stand. It is used in an argument to push a line of thinking and not consider any other alternatives. It's inevitable, well no it was not. There was an argument that it would be difficult to hold current agreements like the cap and drafting rules in place but it doesn't follow from that that FA was inevitable.
  21. So what were the many restrictions they put on it to protect the weaker clubs? I don't think they get away scott free on this one.
  22. Have to agree with him on this one. The AFL are so hell bent on following US sport and this is one of many moves that just doesn't suit. Trading future draft picks which has been floated recently is another disaster waiting to happen. It will be interesting to see what the equalisation model is when it's presented.
  23. I think Ellis is good, it's just other clubs are now not giving him a free hit at it and tagging him. We will see how he works through it this year but using him to tag Gibbs the other night was a real plus and a good win for Ellis.
  24. A bit bigger build already though, will be interested to see how he goes this year.
