Tyson has a great record against Port and Boak in particular... Do we play horses for courses, his VFL form was good on the weekend?

Frost is not an option to my mind...Too many brain fades with ballin hand and gets caught badly out of position where he can't use his assets.
  3. They already are...

Don't see a changes thread yet and we've got a couple of weeks to dissect... Garlett for Spargo...the kids been good but we need some magic from Jeff and a bit more forward pressure. Weid for Pedders...Great VFL player Pedders and would have been a handy mark kick player in the 60's and 70's but he unbalances our forward structure and offers nothing in the ruck these days. I would bring Petty in and Goodwin may have to drop a mate in Bernie to make way...we need to develop another tall defender and the time is now. Like Pedders I think Frost can stay back at Casey, very much a VFL level player. Leg speed was a problem today but a big part of the problem was getting drawn to the honey...in the other recent games we have kept our composure and as follows our structure around the ball. Today was little league standard around the ball. What has that to do with selection...well, just wanted to get it out there. Also, although Hunt offers some leg speed his form hasn't been great so brining him in for that might be a mistake.
  5. Hey @DeeSpencer, I get your frustration and sometimes I felt the same today. I think we can only hold one of him and Vince from here on in, unfortunately along with Jetta they make us too slow against quick forwards and surging mids. As @Earl Hood says above the big problem today was the mids and I would add lack of defensive pressure from our forwards. Pedders throws out the balance and the kid gets run over too much at the mo. Probably time to get Hunt back in with Garlett, move Smith across to a flank or wing and bring in Petty...
  6. Viney - Opposite of Jenkins He's a big man in a small mans body...Jack needs to learn to change his first option from trying to barge through to bringing teammates into the game. He's not Patrick Cripps and it catches him out against good tough midfields. Jack will never be a good captain until he learns his game.
  7. @binman Still think Collingwood are no good?

Weid is a much smarter player...Pedders has lost his ability to halve contests when in the ruck this year. We may have to run Tommy Mac in there today as he's not giving us much at the moment.

...and his ruck work and work around the contest is why he's not...

I've had a feeling about this for a little while now. I rate Collingwood & Buckley, they've learned their lessons well. Could this game be the GF preview for 2018?
  11. Has Jennings played at the highest level? I know it's not always a popular view and there are great examples in other sports but I don't think a coach will make it in AFL unless they have. It's such a different game and culture that players will naturally listen more to someone that has done it. Bolton maybe finding this out the hard way now...

What is it with the Crows and player development... They do pretty well with defenders (Davis, Talia, Lever, Doedee etc), Mids (Sloane, Danger, Crouch boys)... ...but boy are the key forwards flakey...Tex, Jane, the other Jane went to Sydney mmm Tippett.

Richo's job is looking very shaky at the moment...
  14. Maybe Todd Viney steps into this role.

The game (Football not just this game) can do without the likes of Razor Ray... 2nd rate umpire with a big mouth.
  16. PJ took Mahoney under his wing very early on when he was restructuring the club. He must have seen something he liked as he had no hesitation in moving others on. It's pretty clear from Goodwin's endorsement that Mahoney is the preferred candidate.
  17. Very different players 'Wise'...it's not like for like. Smith had also been playing midfield time before he came in, he has more flexibility. Plus I don't think Pedders plays the structure (role) well. Weid by the way does... Anyway, we will see. His form has been good at Casey but I'm just saying don't be surprised if he's not in the final lineup. If it was Tommy Mac out then I would see the case for him being more clear cut.
  18. I don't think Pedders is a walk up start for this game. He could disrupt the forward balance with Tommy Mac already in there. It's going to be interesting to see what the FD do.
  19. ...but I will. I would have Oliver in the guts, McCrae to a wing and Phillips on the bench. Not that it's a big deal, just bragging rights.
  20. I'm surprised they haven't mentioned Brian Waldron...another of KB's mates.

We had it against Hawthorn...we don't need another one.
  22. I think it's Freo's Ed Langdon we're after 'ProDee'...
  23. I'm with you 'Bob', the only thing I will add is that it was Demetrio (personal involvement) that got PJ on board and I'm not sure Dill has the same acumen. I just hope he follows PJ's lead on this he (PJ) hasn't got much wrong so far.
  24. Only 188cm, that surprises me... As I posted earlier Josh Gibson played the same role at Hawthorn at 189cm and they seemed to go ok. Howe does similar at Collingwood. I think Smith could be a good option. Has speed, good overhead, good leap...only thing is does he have the footy IQ for the role?
