  1. If I didn't know better I would say the AFL have told the umps to pay any 50/50 decision to Carlton. ...but... Rule of the week...free kick Carlton.
  2. No sure what you are disagreeing with 'binman'. I'm not saying the pies are better, just that they will be a good measure. ...but let me give you a few things to disagree with now. With Wells coming back in their midfield does stack up well. They, like us are unpredictable up forward. Buckley is coaching well. ...but their kicking game is still the big weakness. We will need to be at the top of our game to beat them. If they get a good run with injury from here on in I think they are a good chance to play finals and who knows we might even end up with a classic Melbourne Collingwood GF.
  3. I think Collingwood is the litmus test for us. Don't get me wrong, I've been absolutely rapt with the way we've played recently. ...but I want to see how we go in a tight contest and the Pies play a solid, contested brand of footy. They usually bring pressure. Plus the Gawn/Grundy battle should be a beauty. ...and taking it one week at a time, I wouldn't discount the Dogs. Saturday has danger all over it if we don't bring our A game...
  4. They fell for nothing... We had the pick before them.
  5. I still think it will be an internal appointment...
  6. Was pleased to hear him make mention of the many local footballers who have ongoing concussion issues but little to no support network. It is one of the hidden issues...
  7. I don't think they have forgotten, last Friday night Adelaide smashed the Dogs and whilst I'm not the biggest fan of many in the football media I don't think their memory loss is as bad as you say. I just think many see us as the better team, it's a game we are expected to win. Lets hope we do.
  8. No, nothing wrong and he hardly urged them. Just thought they should... I hope they do focus on Lever, I've always found when this happens players can lose sight of the real objective. Winning a game of footy. I hope we don't get sucked into the BS and just go about our business.
  9. I hope they do... Carlton tried the faux tough stuff last week and look where that got them.
  10. If it's a recurrence of his foot problem then 4 to 6 will be a bonus... They will get the scan result pretty much straight after doing it, they will do the scan then take a look at it...no need to wait.
  11. Yep, thinking the same here 'Lucifer'.... I always had the feeling that GDeC was brought in as PJ's understudy.
  12. I think it will be a younger person from within... ...but for the sake of an argument would we entertain Simon Lethlean or Steven Trigg?
  13. Cooky would be 63 this year, turning 64 next... Due to retire with Jackson. Time for some new blood.
  14. As an AFL level player Garlett is streets ahead of Bugg though 'Diamond'.... I know you are stirring the pot, but as we all know there is form and then there is form. A bit like Viney's form last week and on Sunday. You will be giving @ProDee nightmares suggesting Bugg come may back into the team.
  15. Interesting you say that... I noticed a lot of Carlton players trying to sledge, niggle and psych out ours early. Seemed to be some type of tactic to get under our skins but we didn't want to play that game. We're growing up.
  16. Just having a bit of a go at 'joeboy' 'small'... He needs new a whipping boy.
  17. Vince - The new Tyson...
  18. I agree with you on the notion of allegiances carried through from childhood having little to no influence in these days of pro sport. Using the Prestia case when he was ready to move I don't think we were interested any longer. He wasn't going to fill a need, we already had Viney a similar but better player by this stage. I think we are into Gaff, we've identified areas of need and are trying to fix them. I see him as being like Lever from last season and am confident we will get our man. Will the Melbourne factor play a role? Well Melbourne the city will if as reported he wants to move back home. From there it will be money & opportunity and I believe we offer both. I don't think any other club can offer more in the Melbourne, money, opportunity basket so if he want's to leave we are the obvious choice and he gets to play with the team he supported (if that's true).
  19. Seems like my thinking was in line with the FD. I like their thinking...
  20. More likely that Oscar will take McKay...
  21. Like Lever last year I think we are right into Gaff and it's more likely than not he will be with us next season.
  22. I think part of this comes from the Roos model where if you don't see an obvious option you hold onto or lockdown on the ball and hope to get a ball up decision to reset. I think Dom has struggled the most with Goddies game plan.
  23. I think we're likely to see Bull come in for Weid & rotate with Trac picking up some mid time...with Tommy doing the relief ruck duties. I might be wrong but I don't see Pedders as a direct replacement, for me he doesn't play the forward role well enough and his ruck work has been average this season. Then again they might want to keep the same structure and use the one soldier down another steps up theory with Pedders stepping up. It will be interesting to see how the FD view this.
  24. Just watching Dermott on 360...he's doing his best work. Looked worse for wear than Robbo...it was his Mike Willesee moment
