Farewell Dom Tyson
He has interest from Victorian clubs so I would think if the trade & deal is right he will be on the move. He is a good player, it's just our list has similar types and the FD are backing others ahead of him. Will be a good addition at a club that he suits (clubs with plenty of outside run to cover) as he was for us when he first came on board.

Good luck trying to get a fair deal from the clown Josh...

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned Ryan O'Keefe. Wanted to leave Sydney, was out the door but they couldn't agree on a trade, ended up staying and went on to win the Norm & a Premiership. Not everything is black & white...but we do hold the cards.

As Roos said a few weeks back the media and football industry in general can be like sheep...the whole thing gains momentum and they just tag on and then we get this almost hysteria about it (whatever the issue is)... Think the Carlton priority pick scenario as a recent example. The media built it up from maybe to a roar that they must apply and would be certain to bet a priority pick they would be mad not to apply. The AFL commission knocked it down...for good reason. ...and it all died down.

Farewell Dean Kent
We could still get a reasonable pick. St Kilda have players on the move so their picks will change, it's not static. We could also have access to future picks or Kent's move could be linked in to our KK deal...

They will have the Gaff money...so I would expect salary cap may not be an issue.

I think he has the upside of someone like Yeo... A pretty convincing reason to buy.

Yep, I think we're on the same track. I just wouldn't put him with the others on the list. I think he has some good exposed form, the others really didn't. They were more spec picks... The spec here is whether he can get over the previous injuries. I'm excited about him as a prospect, I was trying to think who we could bring in without going down the big fish path. There had to be someone out there that would be a perfect fit for us and I think the FD uncovered him.

I wouldn't put KK in either of these categories. He's a much better player than all listed. He has played quality footy but injury has been an issue, in the first list none of those had proven form apart from the odd game for a couple of them. He's certainly nothing like Watts and that acquisition. Jack got nowhere near top 2 in our b&f good or bad years. The bet with KK is nothing to do with form and more to do with getting him injury free and confident in his body.

Jayden Hunt
I don't know that many are writing Hunt off but he is an entirely different player to Gaff. Apart from his at times haphazard ball use Hunt doesn't get a lot of it, he doesn't naturally find the ball and that's probably Gaff's biggest asset (along with the tank to get the job done). Hunt can be a line breaker and at his best also uses his pace to put a lot of pressure on the opposition. He had a manic attack that was missing this year. Get that back & he's on his way.

The bidding will go a lot higher on Shiel... ...by the time this trade period is up he will be up around the $1mill which is way overs for his output.

Hogan is gone. Seems it was going to happen at some stage. As for the what our priorities are, KD is one. Frost is not the long term answer and Oscar is limited. Looking to fix this weakness doesn't mean we aren't looking to fix others. ...and May might not even want to come to us or GC might want too much. We might have other irons in the fire that no one knows about yet. Some results papered over our weak defence, others showed it up. It is a real problem area and most of our fans are on the edge of their seats when the ball goes into to our defensive 50...

Go back and have a look at the WC prelim and you might work it out...

You would be one of very few 'deanox'. To me it's a huge problem, if we can get it sorted and add a bit of silk we are set.

Andrew Gaff
...and just maybe after yesterday winning a premiership takes a precedent over money or the desire to be an inside mid.
-
Bailey Smith
Haven't seen him play a minute but if he is more outside in junior footy then I wouldn't touch him. The draft is littered with great junior outside mids who don't make it in the big time. We know better that most...Morton, Toumpas to name a couple that come to mind.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
I know it won't be a popular call but I would prefer Cerra. Huge upside, complete package. Won't cost as much at the moment and could form part of the Hogan trade. Love his overhead marking which makes him more dangerous in my humble opinion. Get in his ear and convince Freo that he wants back home after his next contract.

Nah...' @Mach5' mail is usually pretty good... He doesn't play that game. If he can't say more then that's fair enough by me. You lose a good source if you burn them. We get some great info on here if you know who to look for and on what subjects.

Much better player than Kent but will be interesting to see how he is valued. but with GC happy to let him go...who knows where the cards will fall.

Can play...he was really good early in his career. Half back or wing with a bit of class. Forget about the Kelly's of this world, this is exactly the type of trading we need to do.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Why not, it's worked well for them????

Farewell Jesse Hogan
Yeah there was actually talk about Cerra wanting to return home before he signed his contract like there was talk before McGovern signed. If we make him a good offer why would he not want to come home and play under a great coach in a premiership contender? What would your thinking be? Play under Goodwin/play under Lyon? Play in Melbourne where I come from, be home with family and friends with a potential great side or stay with cellar dwellers on the other side of the country? He is definitely in the discussion I would think. To give up a player like Hogan then we must get back maximum value.
