Anyone else think it was embarrassing to watch Martin run around and push of a lot of our players with contempt. I know it's his thing and he does it to other teams but the times he just brushed a couple aside almost like they weren't there. I would be embarrassed to call myself an AFL footballer with some of the half arsed tackling efforts.

What it showed me tonight is it's not right & not likely to be right this season even with the addition of Viney & T Mac. We have too many one paced players and no real outside run, carry and class. We have lot of grunt players who play there best as inside mids playing out of position. This needs to be addressed in the off season with free agency & trades.
-
Please let it be Petty...we don't need another headless chook like Frost in the team. A light Petty who can mark & kick plus has some footy IQ is going to be better than the alternative.
-
I'm not sure if we have any quality to bring in... Vince is done. Billy is a rabbit in the spotlight. Harmes a headless chook. ANB clocks up the K's but not damaging Kent injured yet again and doesn't give much anyway. Hunt tried his guts out but made fundamental mistakes. A lot of one paced players like Jetta, Brayshaw & Salem. We really need Smith, Ginger & Hannan to come on as they have some leg speed. Fritsch can at least hit a target... Also need to target Gaff in the off season...desperate for some run & class.

Yep, agree with most of that 'joeboy', pretty fair summation. I think Oscar was very good again. Apart from that all I could add is... MFC - too many passangers

That's not evidence 'binman'... The story or non story (mischief) was not that he had been moved down to the bench. That's all a comm could have said and it would have been a waste of space and time. True or not the story was Macca wasn't happy with the move. What comm would you suggest they should have put out there?
-
Sorry 'binman' but I don't see what the communication issue is here. You're jumping at shadows. Surely the club don't have to put out a comm on every movement made by anyone within the club. Clubs continually have people moving between the box and bench, sometimes even the senior coach spends more time on the bench. It's only a story if Macca is p....off and leaked it. Then it's a staff issue not a comm issue and needs to be sorted internally. Otherwise it's someone causing trouble about something that's a non issue, again not a comm issue.

Don't bet on it...

Would have struggled to get a game anyway in my opinion. Unless something dramatic happens I can't see him on the list next year. I think he will only play now if injuries mean we are desperate for a tall option.

There isn't one variable though 'Clint', there never is. ...but those 4 players were a key component of the revamped plan. Take Rance out and I would suggest the plan falters and they don't win the flag. Hardwick finally worked to his strengths. Luck and circumstance along with playing (astute coaching) with the cards that were dealt played a big part.

Jane certainly has to be on the Crows whipping boy list... One of the most frustrating players in the game must have been mentored by Tippett.
-
I know this was wishful thinking but I was really hoping we wouldn't have Jack Watts filtering (in some cases dominating discussion) through posts this year. He's been done to death since before coming to the club and now he's gone it's probably a good time to let it all go and move on.

I know it's Dangerfield so probably won't happen but he should get many, many weeks for dumping Westoff head first into the turf off the ball. That was a very dangerous action that could have had disastrous implications...
-
After last years GF debacle where they didn't show up followed up by last weeks poor effort against the Pies I'm sure there were people on Crowland calling for Don Pyke's head. A week's a long time in football.

Sounded like a female voice and a very strange conversation. Maybe it was a player but for some reason I thought it was coming through his head set... I think the voice was trying to say it was kicking in danger but the ump was having none of it. Was almost as if the voice wanted to turn over a decision & award a free kick on review which would have been very embarrassing. The ump to his credit pointed out his decision not to award an in danger free had nothing to do with the review. I don't think we were supposed to be in on that discussion but would be very interested to know who it was with. Wonder if the AFL can use the hit the wrong button excuse this time.

...and then superseded by Frost with ball in hand. That is truly a thing of nightmares, close to Bugg having a set shot at goal.
-
I haven't read one of the posts. I'm sure many of these games you speak of have given me nightmares. I choose not to relive them, why would anyone? Once was enough. There really are a lot of sad cases around here '@Axis of Bob '

Seeing as White is not a Melbourne listed player that's going to be difficult to achieve 'Deemania'...
-
Humour...it was Bernie being Bernie. There are many on here jumping at shadows this week. I might have tune out for a while, this is not very productive.
-
He cost us momentum and has no footy IQ...it's not lack of talk, it's lack of awareness and poor decision making. Casey from now on unless we have injuries to cover.
-
It's a tactic that's been used for near on 10 years now. We should be on top off it... Agree...
-
This has been going on for years now...it's nothing new. Pretty sure it was Malthouse that first used it with C/Wood. We should be well aware & able to counter it by now.
-
I've also thought of Harmes & Stretch. Smith has been struggling since injury, not sure who else we have at Casey. Hunt has to come back in, that's a certainty. Also it's not just Lewis/Vince, Jetta is the worst of the 3 at the moment.
-
You can't have Jetta, Lewis & Vince in the backs together. Way too slow... When they were talking about Lewis playing back over the break alarm bells went off for me. Don't know how we fix it against the Tiges but Goody better come up with something from left field to tackle their small forwards. Some players are going to need new positions and others spend some time at Casey. Anyone have creative idea's about who to move back? Melk is one I would throw up...really needs to turn his career around.
-
When you look at that backline 'Andrew' it's no wonder we can't hold a team on a run... ...apart from positioning (plan) the leg speed is not there. Hibberd is the only one with any pace at all. We just can't have Lewis, Vince and Jetta in the back 6 together. One is enough, we need to find some run to feed off Lever & Omac... ...and please leave Frost back in the VFL.
