Farewell Jesse Hogan
A lot will depend on how the AFL changes effect the game. If it's a lot more open then the 3 in the forward half are going to be a handful for opposition teams when they can't get numbers back.

Farewell Jesse Hogan
It brings into question how we played, how the mids used the ball. Not necessarily the forward structure. We are not a in a static environment, it's a young team growing and learning to play together. Imagine how good Hogan would be if we didn't keep bombing the ball in and lowered our eyes earlier in the season....

Finals Tickets
Please don't wish Ticketmaster on anyone. These are the guys that have Ticketmaster Resale, have a look at the prices on this site and you will get what it is about... The 2 internationally owned ticket agencies are not the answer, not the place to go into the way they deal but they fall under the 2 major conglomerates that run entertainment world wide. They are very powerful and not afraid to wield that power. There is a reason they didn't apologise...they just don't care. They are too big to care about a few fans of a backwater sport. There has to be a better solution.

Something not right here...they take years to get him right he plays a couple of games, seems to be going ok. Then gets dropped for team balance????

Finals Tickets
That's nice to know seeing as I couldn't get on to the site. I know they won't care, in fact don't care but who is the moron that put all the ticket on sale on the same day. Seriously no one in power gives a flying f.... It matters little to them as the tickets will still be sold at the end of the day....

Hagdorn and Hardy 'Pennant'... To be honest the only solid news I believe out of WA comes either from you or one of the other posters who's name slips my mind at the mo...edit: 'Chook in Perth' (thanks 'Clint') ...and of course the news breaker ' @Ethan Tremblay'

Shades of '87, albeit 31 years on
Remember it well 'bingers'... The feeling in the outer at Western Oval and the many beers after at a local pub...

He lays a strong tackle for a start. He's nothing like the others you've mentioned. He hits the pack hard and is not afraid of getting his hands dirty. As for stepping up now, he's the best option we've got. He will give it his best shot and that's all we can ask even though you would like to seem him morph into the 2nd coming of Carey overnight. I see similarities with Kennedy of the Eagle variety, I think he could get there. Again, unrealistic to expect that level yet.

That's a pretty harsh comment on a kid who's body is only starting to grow to meet the demands of AFL footy. Hardly yet built like Tarzan. He's been willing if not always able. I haven't seen him putting in the short steps and not having a go. At 21 he has time on his side. I jokingly refer to Jenkins of the Adelaide variety as Jane ('Nasher' doesn't like me doing it), partly because of the alliteration... but he's had years in the system and is built like a brick.... ...just he seems to like playing the small forward role.

I think you are talking about Heppell...

...and he kicked 4 in a tight game against the dogs. 6 against the Hawks last year...so... Spent more time in the ruck. Played a lot of footy in inclement conditions where you might even struggle to get a kick. Look, we're in a time where no one is kicking the big bags of goals. There's no Frosty Miller or Freddie Cook around these days, that time has passed us by. It's not the measure of a player now. Weid will fill a role and do it better than anyone else we've got at present. His time has come. Like it or not we need to know if he can step up in a big game and it might as well be now because if he can't then there's no point us being in finals just to make up the numbers. Better to have good intel coming into the trade/draft period. Hogan, Lever and Viney leave a big hole in our structure. As an aside, remember how Boyd was at the Dogs??? Couldn't catch a cold then suddenly turned it around at the end of 2016. You just never know.

Has Nicholls ever paid us a free?
Agree on the state of umpiring this year 'titan'...so frustrating. I'm not a Nichols fan at all but funny listening post game on the radio to a Swans supporter complaining about the same umpire saying he never gives them a thing. I just think he's a rubbish umpire, an opinion that is reinforced when I'm watching a non Melbourne game as a neutral.

I doubt it. The only risk to culture is if he takes up too much salary cap space, it will have nothing to do with the punch. Lewis is a serial offender and has been very lucky not to have caused more damage in the past...he's said to be a positive player in our development of culture. Gaff will be a big plus if he comes to us.

That's a pretty decent advertisement for the order off rule...

Brendan McCartney & Cooney/Bulldogs situation
Some people are not cut out for the number 1 job... Macca has the runs on the board in development & that's what he does well for us. Keep up the good work.

I don't think Jimmy was that naive 'Earl'...he made some poor decisions and let his ego get the better of him. Jobs for the boys nearly killed this club. Bailey was an outsider. Probably enough of this looking back but it's hard not to get engaged. I still get very angry (and I'm not an angry person) when I think of the damage that was done by the people in control of the club at that time. In the words of the coach, it was a good learning experience (I hope) and we move on to the next game.
