  1. It's mid January. The Tennis starts on the 14th, why would you bother.
  2. You think Jai was a coup.Everyone last year struggled. Hence we got rid of half the team. The team is training better this year, which means the young dudes have a lot to catch up.
  3. Geez, I'm glad you clarified that. I thought for a moment you knew something about my horse "What a Rooster"
  4. I R T Y A A A B F D H's Edit and a HNY
  5. If the club were going to take this seriously, the group would have had a tongue lashing already. Then the new leadership group will sit down and hand out the punishment
  6. I first met Troy whilst he was serving behind the bar at the Bentleigh Club. It was just prior to an Essendon Melbourne Game. Daniher & Sheeds were the mainstays of the day. But IMO the 5 min. of conversation I had with Troy still lingers. He was an honest unassuming young man and very polite. I caught up with him on a couple of other occasions at Post match sessions. He was improving with each game he played, until he broke his leg in an accident on the HBF. I hoped he would get over it and turn in a ripper year. Then 2004 Boxing came. RIP Troy Best wishes to all your family and friends who will be missing you today.
  7. Gee if that is true, I might have a chance of signing my missus up for membership. mmmm CHOCOLATE! Might not quite be the same as GO DEES Edit :- Spelling
  8. Great choice of topic Jack. I was getting a little P&&%ed off by all the negativity flying about in the topics that have been headlining for the last few weeks. Now we get a chance to discuss a kid whose heart beats Red & Blue like no other. I have seen him train a few times and can't get over how hard an 18yo puts in. He really is hard on himself and expects the same from everyone else in the team. It's that attitude and exuberance that will have a very positive influence on the whole side. I've seen it happen many years ago when a bunch of kids got promoted to the seniors and their effervescence just took the rest of us on a wonderful ride. We were feeling flat as a club but they lifted us to heights we never thought possible. I think with jack and a few others we are headed for one hell of a journey. I just can't wait to see what lies around the corner. GO DEES
  9. You guys weren't in charge of the back up system for the FC by chance. We can only hope if that was the case then the off site back discs / tapes went missing as well
  10. Thanks for the reports guys. I intend to get along a bit more in Jan. can anyone help me as to whether it will still be at the paddock. Or will they move to the Fields?
  11. Fair enough he has denied "Tanking" So what do they expect from CC & CS I would assume much the same. If we can't make the finals then play youth to see what they have.
  12. I think it has been mentioned in this post and several merged posts before. CS & CC could only be charged if found guilty of "Bringing the game into disrepute"
  13. http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2012-12-21/club-helps-corporal-westwood-raise-funds A very emotion charged article and a job well done by the Club to help out. I'd like to donate something if I knew whether the club was opening an appeal.
  14. I got my Pack yesterday incl. the Pet Pillow. The stupid mutt just drags it around the house like a teddy.
  15. I think I know the one you are referring to. It's definitely not the one when he was discussing that we will be selecting J. Gysberts with pick 11. and he will turn out to be better than the other 2. But it may have had something to do with the impact of a WWII machine
  16. Yes I was there TT. Are you referring to CC extraordinary performance as MC?
  17. Correct. The tackling method being taught is hard around the waist then lift and keep going to force an illegal disposal. Edit:- That tackle is from the front. Tackles from behind will probably result in a free kick against us.
  18. Yep any of the suburbs from Clifton Hill along Hoddle Street well serviced by the Elsternwick bus. Vic Park, Abbotsford, Richmond, Cremorne, South Yarra, Prahran, Windsor, St.Kilda. Huge amount of apartments going up in Abbotsford at the moment, nearing completion.
  19. I'm hearing similar rumours. Including AFL asking the club what they feel would be a suitable punishment. Only a dysfunctional AFL could ask someone how they want to be punished.
  20. I know the Players were asked to put in their votes for LG after the conclusion of "Top End" But does anyone know when a decision will be made? I assume it will be announced when training resumes in the New Year.
  21. Casey Scorpions appoint Vic Metro coach Vic Metro mentor Rohan Welsh has been appointed head coach of the Casey Scorpions THIS season's successful Vic Metro coach Rohan Welsh has been appointed coach of the Melbourne's VFL aligned club, the Casey Scorpions for 2013. Soon after accepting the role, Welsh was introduced to the players at training on Monday afternoon. He will play an important role next season in the development of Melbourne's crop of youngsters that includes Jimmy Toumpas, Jack Viney and 17-year-old Jesse Hogan. Welsh, 42, coached Vic Metro between 2009-2012 and led the representative team to victory in the past two years. Viney was a member of the victorious Vic Metro team under Welsh in 2012. Welsh coached the Oakleigh Chargers in the TAC Cup between 2005-2008 and was also an assistant coach at the Calder Cannons. He coached Carlton's Marc Murphy and Sydney Swans premiership player Nick Smith at the Oakleigh Chargers. He also played 42 games for Carlton and with Dandenong in the VFA. Melbourne was pleased to have such a well-credentialed coach in the position and was looking forward to the season ahead in alignment with the Scorpions. "Rohan brings extensive coaching experience at both TAC Cup level and at the National Championships," Melbourne football manager Josh Mahoney said. "He has been involved with successful teams and demands high standards from his players, two attributes which we value highly as a club." Welsh will be in the role on a part-time basis in a similar set up to the one involving former Demon Brett Lovett in 2012. The Casey Scorpions had a strong season in 2012 under Lovett before tumbling out of the finals in straight sets. Lovett resigned from the position to spend more time with family and to concentrate on his business.
  22. Realistic expectations is what you get when you get on board the "Reality Bus" I would realistically expect 10 wins. Neeld would want the same to ensure the Reality Bus doesn't run out of juice in 2014.
  23. Best come from behind loss. let me think WCE
  24. This isn't about who are good blokes and good footballers. It's about who are good leaders. Good communicators is No.1 Understanding and implementing game plans would be high on the agenda. Understanding the ins and outs of the club structure. Great work ethic. Ability to help team mates.
